This hotel was a great find in a prime location within easy reach of all the tourist attractions and public transport. Walking distance to a number of places, surrounded by shops, markets, supermarkets etc. I loved the convenience and the proximity to laid back Flamgeno beach just 5min walk away. The staff were exceptional and helpful from the get go. Cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. The gym was across the road although I didn't use it. Breakfast had a good variety and they even prepared my eggs separately as I like it. Just ask!. Overall a lovely stay at Elegance Praia. The rooms are better than in the pictures. I can certainly recommend the hotel and will return when in Rio again.
I was upgraded to a suite room however the room faced inwards and was exposed to continuous noise from the aircons which disrupted my sleep as I am a light sleeper. Although they tried to seal the windows, it didn't help much. I would highly recommend more sound proofing and double glazed windows. Another point,
the breakfast could get repetitive after a few days. It didn't bother me much but may bother others. The lighting can also be improved.

Good location, friendly staff and fairly reasonable
The room wasn’t properly cleaned throughout my stay. Sheets weren’t changed even when dirty and didn’t look like the bathroom had been cleaned. I actually think I had bed bugs in my room, because I felt fairly itchy.
