About this cabin rental
Fully furnished cottage in the woods with backyard opening to pine trees and four acre pond. Cottage has wood floors, window air conditioners and homey furnishings. Perfect for a family retreat or a romantic getaway. Located on our 50 acre working ranch, Pine Grove Cottage is tucked away on its own corner of the property with private drive and gated entrance. A sun room runs the length of the house in the back and looks out on the pine grove and lake beyond and serves as a third bedroom. An open family room/dining/kitchen is perfect for family gatherings. Guests are free to roam the ranch property which includes expanses of wooded acreage where wildlife and birds abound. Fishing on the lake is available on a "catch and release" basis to ensure fishing remains good for future guests. Lakes are stocked with bass, catfish and bream.
The ranch abounds with wildlife and provides a wonderful opportunity for birdwatching due to its forest and lake features. It is also in a migratory area that is home for many birds (including Bald Eagles) in the fall/winter months. Permanent bird residents are many and varied from songbirds to ducks, herons. hawks, cranes, owls, woodpeckers, and many more.
Canoes and boats are provided for those who want to go out on the lake to fish or just relax. Located within 15 minutes of Pittsburg, Gilmer, and Winnsboro, guests can experience life in the country but enjoy the amenities of a town. In the summer, fresh peaches, blackberries and blueberries are sold at nearby orchards. Golfing, a winery and a variety of restaurants are within 15 minutes of the ranch. For those who enjoy antiques, there are many shops within 15-30 minutes of the ranch.

Property comes as advertised. Paula is excellent to communicate with and checked in the make sure we had everything we need. The fishing was great and the water was the clearest I have seen it. We already have a return trip in a couple of months.

This place is everything we imagined and more. My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. We wanted a quiet weekend away from the city and kids. I was looking for a place to fish, watch birds and enjoy the peace. Without a doubt, this cottage checked every box. We arrived to the most pleasant and sweet host dropping off fresh eggs from the chicken coop in the front yard, homemade jelly, and some biscuits. The only photos don’t even do this place justice. the flower bed out front is gorgeous, the house feels and looks like I just got to my grandmas house for the weekend. The tall trees, peaceful water and welcoming wild life was everything we imagined. The beds were amazing, the house was stocked with everything we needed. We caught SO many fish. I caught a large catfish, biggest catch of the weekend which I will continue to rub in my husbands face. The bass were biting like crazy and my husband loved every second. We enjoyed early canoe rides and I even went out myself in the evening just to enjoy the smooth water and peace. Have your cameras ready for the amazing birds. Cardinals are surrounding you here and I was lucky enough to wake up to a humming bird sipping flowers in the morning. I just cannot put into words how amazing our weekend was here. If you are considering the future place, just do yourself a favor and book it. We are already booking our next stay for a couple of months away and plan to bring our 3 little girls so that they can catch some perch.

Cute and cozy cottage! Loved the whole experience. The eggs, biscuits and jelly was such a kind added touch. The host was always responsive to all our needs. Would highly recommend!
