This was an amazing house, and our family of 18 (3 generations) had a wonderful time! Very clean! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The outdoor seating/furniture/atmosphere was fantastic. The pool was perfect for all ages. The hot tub was great too! The beds in every room were the most comfortable of any house we have stayed in, although this was our first time at SML. For 35 years we've been going to the OBX. We may have a new annual vacation place. The host was extremely fast in responding to any questions that arose. Even with the historic drought and low water level, we were able to enjoy our boat on the lake.

My overall stay was awesome. The amenities were superb. The suggested Farmhouse Catering Service was awesome and the food was delicious. The family really enjoyed the stay and we really enjoyed our stay. The various activities available was great as well. The only concern was the very steep driveway to get to the property and taking the trash up to the top of the driveway was a chore. Everyone spoke of how steep of a decline/incline (even neighbors) it was. Some reflectors or lights especially at night would be great if possible.

We had an amazing time here for our family reunion. The home had several gathering areas and we used them all. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. Pool, hot tub, fire pit, pool table, corn hole, all amazing. We had rainy weather most of our stay but still used all the outdoor spaces. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything worked well, no issues at all.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Firefly Estate. Myself and six other buddies had plenty of room to spread out and really enjoyed the extra space and bathrooms. The hot tub was absolutely divine with jets that were powerful and therapeutic. The deck off the living room was accessible, inviting, and comfortable.Our stay would have been more enjoyable if the kitchen would have been better equipped. There were TONS of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, cups and glasses. However, typically, and in particular when an upscale house is rented, certain consumables are included such as spices, sugar, cooking oil, cleaning agents, brushes/sponges, foil, garbage bags, etc. In our case, there wasn't even salt and pepper! No, the description does not say such things are provided, BUT . . . I would highly recommend these type consumables be procured and made available to future guests.We'd also recommend providing a book that includes instructions for the hot tub, smart TVs, fire pit, fire place, etc.Also, we were unable to dine on the deck outside as it was COVERED in pollen. Although the cleanliness level for the rest of the house was acceptable, this area was apparently overlooked by the cleaning crew.
