About this cabin rental
The Main Cabin is a beautiful new cabin, with 3 bedrooms, and an alcove that can be the fourth bedroom, beautiful kitchen, comfortable living room, has WiFi, cable TV, Netflix, YouTube and more, inside a beautiful farm with animals with that you can live together when going for a walk, inside the Sam Houston National Forest, spend a beautiful time with your family.

The property has a lot of potential! It seem like the owner has put some work and $$ into the place. But the cabin requires much more work and a lot of creativity.
It was apparent that the property inside and outside had not been well kept. Layers of dust were on the surfaces, 2 out three curtains in the living room were hung backwards and nearly ready to fall of the wall. The kitchen counter was gritty, the bay window in the kitchen was filled with dead inscects, but the refridgerator was new and more than adequate. The stove looked fairly new as well and functioned. The sink cabinet in the master bath had a door-front proped under the sink rather than hanging in place. The water pressure was horible! The toilet tank took hours to refill after flushing.
A storage cabinet in the yard was filled with junk paint cans and stuff. Along with an old indoor cushion chair rotting in the yard, there was a rotted dinette table.
The rate began reasonable enough. But when booked, an additional charge was tacked on for 3 guest that we had not claimed. Upon communicating with the owner he said to contact VRBO. The number he gave me was incorrect. VRBO said the property owner would have to issue the refund via the VRBO dashboard and that I should follow up with him.
The property advertised that "events" were acceptable (the main reason we chose this place). The location was a good half-way point for family & friends to attend 5th birthday party for my grandson. So, a party was held on Sunday afternoon. As we prepared to check-out on the following morning I recieved a notice of House Rules Violation and charged $250. I communicated to the owner that it didn't make sense but he never replied. I spent the next 3 days holding for 30 minutes or more trying to reach VRBO to dispute this charge. How can you have an event without attendees. None of the party attendees stayed overnight at the cabin! Anyway VRBO assured me that the charge was not applicable.
Too bad! Because this would have been a great spot to 3 or 4 times a year. btw: the party was a big hit!
