This was our first time staying up in Kapalua, and we loved this location! The absolute best thing was the upstairs bedroom with a wide, sweeping view of the ocean (with a patio, too) -- it felt like a magical treehouse! We also really enjoyed the pool area... quiet and calm, with beautiful tiling. The whole condo was very spacious!
We happened to be there the weekend Hurricane Lala was passing over the islands, and we really wished for more information and support from management. We got a few voicemails asking how our stay was going, but we were really expecting more practical safety information or guidance in the case of floods, broken windows, power outages, etc, and we were only texted once saying "there may be high winds this weekend, and can you please secure the items on your lanai." I called once about a flashlight in the case of a power outage, and was told by the woman on the other end of the line that "people take them, so we stopped supplying them." And they didn't supply candles for fire hazard reasons. We did end up finding one flashlight, which definitely came in handy for the 17 hours of power outages, but it seemed ridiculous that they didn't have a better system to take care of guests in an emergency situation. On the cleanliness, it was clean but my husband found 3 cockroaches in the unit (yuck)... he said they seemed dead already, so maybe they're already poisoning them? Lastly, the upstairs AC unit was not working at all, so there was like a 20 degree difference between upstairs and downstairs.
