You can become part of Danish history when you stay overnight in Ærøskøbing's oldest house, the listed Kjøbinghus from 1645. With Denmark's oldest iron-bound door in a market town house and a wealth of historical details, you step into a time capsule where past and present meet in the most beautiful way.
The low ceilings, wood paneling, and open fireplace create a very special atmosphere in the house's various rooms. From the blue shop, which now serves as a bedroom, to the living room with its old wood-burning stove from 1831, and on to the summer room with its beautiful light, each room tells its own story.
The charming courtyard with its uneven cobblestone pavement invites you to enjoy peaceful moments in the sun. The garden stretches far and wide and is surrounded by lilac bushes and old fruit trees, with the historic pear tree in particular having its own place in the house's story.
From the front door, you are only 100 meters from the square with the old merchant's farm and the town's whiskey distillery. Explore the cobbled streets, visit Denmark's smallest cinema, or follow the Øhavsstien trail 200 meters from the backyard. Vester Strand with its iconic bathing huts is also within walking distance.

This is a place out of the ordinary. The historic building is the only kind in the world and a real first class stay. Nothing was missing in this house for a comfortable stay, there was even a hairdryer in the bathroom and beer in the refrigerator. Highly recommend this house.
