Tucked into the opening of a quiet cove on the shores of Lake Lure, The Red is more than a lake house — it’s a peaceful sanctuary where time slows down, worries drift away, and cherished memories are made.

After weathering the storm of Hurricane Helene and the subsequent floods, this special home has been lovingly reborn — emerging stronger, fresher, and more beautiful than ever.

We’re truly excited to welcome you into this lakeside retreat.

NOTE: HOME CONSTRUCTION NEXT DOOR on the other side of the property - not too close. NOT VERY LOUD and sporadic. Usually between 9-3:30 p.m., not on weekends. RATES HAVE BEEN LOWERED TO ACCOMMODATE. Previous guests have said it did not bother them!

The Space

As soon as you arrive, the outside world fades away. 12' tall, almost floor-to-ceiling windows frame ever-changing lake and mountain views that make you feel like you’re gently floating on the water. Morning light dances across the decks, afternoons invite lazy lounging, and evenings sparkle with stars reflected on the still lake.

Unique one-of-a-kind lake pool right at your doorstep — a concrete-bottomed 4-foot-deep area with gentle “wedding cake” steps. Perfect for standing, conversations, float tie-ups, and seamless access to the deeper lake

Prime wildlife viewing — eagles, herons, egrets, ducks, geese, butterflies, and hummingbirds (a pair of binoculars is provided)

Complimentary water toys: three kayaks, three SUPs, eight floaties, and plenty of noodles are provided ($475/day value)

Fully stocked kitchen featuring our guests’ all-time favorite — a waffle maker with mix and syrup

4 bedrooms and 3.5 well-appointed bathrooms with blow dryers and lighted makeup mirrors

Additional Details:

A rental boat may be docked on the property if arranged in advance with your rental company (a $750 refundable security deposit is required) and me.

Parking: Maximum of 3 cars.
