A very nice place for a short break

Jane was a caring and thoughtful hostess. Her accomodation is a special gem, especially if you want to relax a little. The highlight of the accommodation is definitely the cozy place on the waterfront with a private beach. In town, I was able to get to everything important without a car and found some good cafés/shops/restaurants to eat or take away food.

Relaxed, classic Ontario waterfront aesthetic: glorious outdoor terrace.

Lakefront location is superb: tranquil, great view, close to main street shopping and amenities. Comfortably furnished patio area perfect for reading and relaxing, or gathering with family or friends. Cosy indoor seating area, with lots of thoughtful touches from umbrellas to bath bombs! A lot of space for the money.

Some large furniture is being used for household storage, which makes the bedroom in particular a little harder to move around than it needs to be.

Great Location, cozy, and right on the beach!

The location was fantastic. I was able to leave my car safely parked and walk everywhere I was going. Cobourg is a nice small town with a beautiful marina and gorgeous beach. The space is somewhat crowded but you have everything you need to have a lovely stay. Jane is very welcoming and access to lots of options for sitting in the sun or shade and enjoying the water.

There is a generator noice that runs at night and during the day. With the sounds of the day you don't hear it. But it woke me up at night. Once I spoke to Jane she informed me. The next night I put on the fan and didn't hear a thing. The bed is very comfortable, WIFI works great. Would defiantly stay again

peaceful, lovely stay

a view of the lake, peaceful lovely spot. all the amenities you could ask for. It is apparent that the hostess takes great pride in her property, and although it’s early spring and not much in bloom yet, I am sure it is stunning in the summer when full bloom surrounds this lively property. Lawn chairs and patio furniture appreciated, even when rainy I was able to enjoy outdoors and stay dry. Wonderful walking area, whether you choose the beach walk or in the cute town, it makes for a great walk.

Rooms are small and too full of furniture. Gorgeous views of Lake Ontario as house is on the water.

Too much furniture in the rooms (bedroom and sitting room) - there were two dressers/cupboards that were full of knick knacks and stuff belonging to the owner and that could not be used by the guests - these pieces of furniture took up space in the small rooms making them feel even more cramped. It would have been difficult to have a second person there too - we would have been tripping over each other. The closet was full of things so that you could not hang any dresses or coats in it. Additionally, when I had to revise and reduce my booking due to covid in a family member, the host/owner was very stingy about refunding any nights. Last but not least, prior to my arrival, the owner tried to get me to cancel my Booking.com booking and book directly for a very slightly reduced price.

Would not stay here again.

Location on the lake was great but very windy and cold.

Way too much clutter and unnecessary furniture made it tight and uncomfortable. The bathroom was teeny. There was also a smell of mildew, no kettle and a terrible tv.

The host was very attentive, all needs were met, sandy beach, quiet comfy rooms, beautiful view.

The B&B was easily accessible, parking available, easy access to the suite, a fully furnished patio to enjoy day or evening. Coffee, and hot beverages available in the room. Refrigerator, microwave and dishes, glasses all available right at hand. Rooms were brightly lit, lots of comfy places to sit and many books available to read. TV channels were plentiful as well

It is not totally accessible for a person who is wheelchair dependent.

Very good

Great location, quiet spot, huge beautiful and well-maintained backyard and private beach! Host was very kind and accomodating!

Unfortunately, during the days we were there, there was a lot of seaweeds on the shore. To add to the customer's experience, we would suggest an outdoor fireplace, a microwave oven and a clothesline to dry our swimsuits and towels.

Relaxing and quaint stay at the Willowmere! 5/5 stars.

Outstanding stay at the Willowmere. What a cozy and quaint bed and breakfast. I loved the location, with a private outdoor sitting area and access to a private beach. The size was perfect for two people. We felt the bed was comfortable and the memory foam pillows were a luxe touch. We read other reviews that said the space was too crowded or had too many knick knacks but we felt this gave the space character and a special feel. Wouldn't change a thing! Jane was a great host. Will certainly be back!

As mentioned in other reviews, the bed was squeaky- but stable so no complaints from me. There's nothing I "didn't like".

disappointing when it could be great.

Location great. Would be especially nice in warm weather. If it was good weather the porch would have been a lovely place to sit. I was really looking forward to staying here and was so disappointed.

Coffee - couldn't get the coffee maker to work. When it was replaced, still couldn't get it to work and even the host wasn't sure how to do it. Also could use a kettle to make tea. It took some time to get it warm enough. Could be clearer instructions on how to work the thermostat. A sink plug would be useful. Can't imagine staying with another person unless you were outside all the time as there is too much furniture!! Although the host was very quiet, I don't think it is very private. Fix the bedframe so it doesn't squeek.

Clean and comfortable.

Beautiful lakeside setting, lovely host, very comfortable , reasonably priced. We’d definitely go back and have recommended it to friends who have family in Cobourg. Absolutely lovely home with gorgeous gardens. Very private entrance with shaded porch. If we had stayed longer than one night, we would have spent some time relaxing and reading on the porch, and enjoying the lake.

Some reviews noted complained that it was “cluttered”, but we felt it had character and personality. We preferred it to more stark, clinical lodgings. The only thing that could be improved was the headboard/bed frame was a bit rocky. Very comfortable bed, but we were concerned at first that it might collapse. Very minor thing and fixable.
