The location was excellent, and love the access to an indoor pool, a couple of restaurants and a shop, along with a bar and live music!
I wish the cleaning service did a much better job at cleaning the rooms.

we have stayed here many times we like the larger rooms the entire hotel is beautiful
I didn’t like waking up to dogs barking and I didn’t like how the breakfast buffet was now $29 a person and it was the same exact breakfast as when it was free. when it was included in the stay it was fantastic but at the price it was just ok.

It is new and it was nice to have a suite for a family.
It was not clean as there was hair on the nightstand. Also didn’t think the staff working at the hotel understood English or helpful. We got a handicap accessible room and the manager couldn’t change the room. Pool and hot tub was overcrowded.

Whilst I would not wish the ski accident I had on anyone, the staff at the Margaritaville resort were exceptional and went above and beyond. From going and getting my stranded daughter from hospital and making sure she was safely in the hotel, picking me up from hospital, offering to drive us around town for any reason whatsoever (to help with recovery), swapping rooms and looking after my daughter, helping with a stranded car, to ensuring we safely left when we finally managed to arrange a trip home, the quality of service was exceptional. In particular the front desk and valet staff were amazing.
The property: having been recently renovated, this property stands well above the usual tired ski hotel most towns have on offer. I absolutely recommend this property and will stay again without question when next in South Lake Tahoe.
Kitchen could be stocked with some basics

The room was awesome. Everyone on the staff was awesome from the front dest, to the valley, to the cleaning staff. All were very friendly & very helpful. The best part was the Reggae music playing at the resort. I would definitely recommend Margaritaville to my friends & I'd definitely stay there again.
The elevators were a complete nightmare. The restaurant, in the front of the resort food wasn't very good & the waiting staff at the restaurant were just ok. It was kind of like a ghost town in there, Especially for being a Saturday. We didn't get a chance to try the *Buffett* & couldn't find the coffee bar.

Prices were high for meals and store items. Additional charges added on to prepaid booking didn't seem justified. Seemed as if we were nickle and dimed.

I stayed here because of an amazing deal I got on a travel site. The room itself was very nice; bed very comfortable, lots of space, nice bathroom, etc…there were other things about the hotel that weren’t so great -
- No microwaves in any of the rooms; if you want to use one, they charge an extra $20 a night to bring one to your room.
- Required $32 a day valet parking; our car actually came to us with a massive scratch on the side the second night after they brought it out, which pissed us off since valet was *required* or else there’s basically no where else to park.
- Since it’s inconvenient to wait to have the valet bring your car out to you every time you want to leave (especially if there’s a long line because everyone has to valet) we tried to eat at the hotel. The cafe had one of the worst / most stale breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had for $12, and the yogurt parfait was straight sugar. I could only eat a few bites before throwing it out because I started to feel sick.
It took 30 minutes for me to receive my coffee with 3 people working the cafe and only 2 others waiting for their coffee. My husband ordered an iced coffee another time, and they poured it and just let it sit in front of them behind the glass for a good 5-10 minutes without calling his name, while they stood around and talked to each other; he finally went up and interrupted them to ask for it. He also tried to order a muffin, which they said they were out of - he had to walk over to the container and point to it for them to give it to him.
- The apps were also not great, and it took about 30 minutes to order after one of the younger bartenders stared at me / ignored me / walked away several times when I tried to politely call out get his attention (at the empty bar). The older bartender was nice and finally put in my order.
The only good thing was the room was brand new.

All of the restaurants we tried were delicious. We didn’t use the indoor pool but it was very pretty when we walked by. Breakfast is not included but it’s so good regardless of having to pay 75 dollars for 2 people. Everything is pretty walkable and Nevada is obviously right there so it’s so easy to not have to drive. There was live music until 8 pm each night which was so fun. You couldn’t hear it when you went into the room so that’s always very peaceful. The staff valets, bell boys, breakfast people, cleaners, front staff, all amazing 5 stars for all of them made the experience awesome! Overall amazing experience drinks were boozy and the food was stellar.
The beds were a little hard. I know everything was just remodeled and it was brand new and not that I liked a lived in bed but I struggled to stay asleep because I couldn’t get comfy. Breakfast was a little pricey 29 a person plus tax was 75 dollars for the two of us. The food was good but unfortunately not included in the room which would have been better for my partner and I financially.

Excellent location and very clean and big room.
Room is well equipped and very comfortable. Very clean and updated room including nice bathroom.
No self service parking available. They charge $29 for valet parking on top of $43 property fee per day.

Rooms were big, being suites, and opening prices reflect good value. Liked the tropical decor and vibe.
The big negative was that we were charged taxes on the resort fee upon check-in, which was not reflected in Booking.com's final price or quoted anywhere. It was an unpleasant experience and it was disappointing that the staff/hotel did not do anything to mitigate the unexpected charges as a basic customer service.
Also, blankets and pillows could be improved - blankets were kinda thin and pillows too easily flattened.

Friendly guest service agents at the front desk and coffee shop and store. Also enjoyed the outdoor fire pits and music.
Everything was great.

Location
I didn’t like the fact I was unaware of total renovation of the property and wasn’t notified before I booked it

Location only
Hotel is undergoing construction, once I book the hotel i got the notification. I should know before I book it. Hotel front desk says about that it is controlled by booking.com. everywhere is construction areas and dust and smell dust and wet having bad smell. Early in the morning we wake up with sounds of construction works. It is not totally pleasant stay in this hotel. Bathroom water blocked and waiting for 2 hours to get another room that works everything good. finally, after 2 hours we settled in another room. because every room is having some problem not ready to occupy. horrible waiting after long drive from Los Angeles. This is my 3 time having problem with reserve hotel from Bookong.com Need to rethink to another website our next stay anywhere. Because most of the time me and my spouse travel for pleasure every 45 days.

Didn't eat breakfest. Location was fine.
Staff was rude, and hotel was under construction. Paid too much for a substandard room. And was charges 25 dollars for a microwave which should have come with the room. Will not be booking here again. Maybe the staff should go to school to learn how to be courteous and respectful.

I am still waiting to get a refund. If I don't, I'll sue the hotel.
I didn't like customer service. The hotel was very noisy, dusty, and had the smell of the new paint. My family and I got burning eyes and headaches. That's why we canceled our stay. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The two saving graces to this hotel were the staff and location.
The construction is terrible. It feels like they should’ve taken the hit and closed down during renovation. Even the email and reviews hadn’t really prepared me for the plastic, caution tape, paint smell, construction workers and chaos going on. People spend their hard earned money to vacation and this was such a disappointment.

The location is close to everything we had planned.
The hotel was under a complete remodel and none of the usual facilities or amenities were available during our stay. We booked this room over 6 months in advance and we were under the impression that the remodel was complete. Paying over $800 for two nights for a premium King room was outrageous. No buffet breakfast, ice machines were only working on one floor, no hair dryer in our room. Very noisy as the construction continued every day even over the Labor Day weekend. I believe that we should have a credit for the inconvenience and lack of usual grounds and amenities. Totally unacceptable for the price we have been charged.

Close to casinos. Great locating.
Under construction. Building was a mess. Elevators were only half working. Vending machines all broken. Plastic and debris everywhere.

Convenient to concert.
The construction, room smelled like smoke. Lack of food options due to construction. Staff was friendly though.

The staff was the only great thing at this hotel and AJ the manager. and that’s why I would come back once they’ve completed their major renovation
Letting us know that it was under major construction the smell was awful the cleanliness was not there

The location was the only thing going good for this run down hotel.
I didn't like that the website stated that there were "exciting changes" and it turned out to be that half of the hotel was no functioning and was under construction and smelled of horrible fumes, paint and dust. Do not waste your money here.
10.0
The room location was decent. We were located on the third floor. The room was super clean and spacious to fit 5 people. We booked 2 queen beds and it also came with a sofa that can turn into a bed. The room came with a diner table as well which was a plus. The location was super close to everything within a 5 minute proximity.
There was construction going on inside of the hotel. So there was a lot of dust and there was a smell of points, but it did not bother us.
5.0
Just I like because is in downtown and I can walk around no need to drive
I didn’t like that they don’t have any more breakfast including with the price and this time the price was higher than before but it was really higher not breakfast and was in repair I couldn’t use nothing from there just my room I was uncomfortable I’m sorry this hotel used lo like me a lot but not this time they should keep offering same services as good as in the past.
