Location, historical building, friendly staff, fun bar/lounge, and modern updated rooms
Street noise from late night revealers and people shouting all night. But also understanding of downtown location that comes with the territory.

The central Berkeley location was convenient and made it easy to get around.
Housekeeping and communication were consistently disappointing. Despite requesting cleaning and leaving the room from around 11:15 a.m. until after 8:00 p.m., I returned to find it unserviced. When it was eventually cleaned, the sheets were still not changed. I had to contact the front desk at least three times before they were finally replaced. At check-in, I was also promised a room change next day, that never occurred and apparently had not been arranged.
