Franklin Terrace Motel

Location & staff were the best part of the Franklin Terrace Motel. We were given free beach passes for the 3 of us and a street parking hang tag as parking is limited within the motel. We mostly spent our time on the boardwalk and came back to the room to shower/sleep. We did not use the fridge, microwave or cooktop so I cannot speak to how well they worked.

The room had an overwhelming smell probably due to continued dampness. Wear flip flops when in the room or your feet will be black on the bottom. Shower had mold and I have never seen a bathroom so small. A good steam cleaning of the windows would help increase their longevity as well as looking more sanitary. Had to open the windows and I brought a rechargeable small fan to put in the bathroom window to pull in fresh air. Outlet in the bathroom was inoperable and it was time to clean the bathroom light fixture as it was filled with bugs. My suggestion to the owner is to occasionally put a dehumidifier in the rooms to dry them out completely and if not financially feasible to wash the bedspreads, spray with a fabric refresher and really dry out the rooms. It may help with the smell. It's an older property in an extremely damp region so it is difficult to keep dry. Anyone who has ever slept on a boat knows the challenge. We brought our own blankets and pillows. I expected what I found so we planned accordingly.

The inn was so clean, and the family that owned it was very sweet and welcoming. The room had a little hot plate thing you could cook on. Free parking, super close to the beach.

The bathroom was very very small lol. Curtain didn’t keep water out .. the doors are a little old so flies would come in through a crack. Wish there was an extra outlet or two. The bed sheets had a few stains. But none of these would keep me from coming back, I kept looking at reviews for hotels by the beach and they were all so bad regarding cleaning and rude staff.. the “better stays we’re far from the beach so I was very excited with my x experience here, despite the few things above.

The staff was absolutely amazing! They were incredibly accommodating, kind, and helpful throughout our entire stay. They provide beach passes for extended stays, as well as a parking pass, which was such a great convenience. Everyone was so understanding and genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. For a motel, the room was very clean, and the location was perfect. The room itself was thoughtfully set up, with great storage and a layout that made it very comfortable and functional for our long stay. We stayed for an extended period, and it was absolutely worth it. This will definitely be our new go to motel whenever we stay in Seaside Heights! It was quiet, family friendly, and had everything we needed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and I truly credit that to the owners. They were wonderful people who clearly take pride in their motel and have created such a welcoming, comfortable space for their guests. We can’t wait to come back!

Overall, our stay was wonderful! There were just two small things that could make an already great stay even better! Neither of these are complaints at all, just little suggestions! 1. Ice on the property: Having ice available on site would have been so convenient, especially for a longer stay. 2. Cancellation policy: A little more flexibility for unexpected cancellations within a reasonable time frame would be nice. That being said, I completely understand the need for a stricter policy, especially during busy dates. Again, none of these things took away from our experience at all. We were very comfortable, loved our stay, and truly appreciated everything they offer.

pool was small, though i did not go in. i had to drive several blocks to get coffee
