Food was not that good

Simply beautiful place with amazing mountain views from the windows. The staff is polite and helpful, the food is tasty, and you get there a glimpse of Ladakhi culture enriching your stay. Walking to the serene Samstaling monastery is a good option for a nice daily hike.

Lchang Nang has a beautiful location, and is peaceful and serene. The rooms are comfortable and nicely done, albeit the seating in the room, which seemed to be focused more on the aesthetic rather than function.

The staff and experience at the hotel really lacked the warmth and attention to detail that a luxury experience desires. For example, I found a waste plastic bottle thrown in the 'private garden' attached to my room- I had to remind the staff to get rid of it (see picture attached). The food at the restaurant is terrible. On my first night there, I ordered a Thai curry and rice, and was served literally raw curry paste. It was inedible, and I had to send it back. My server offered no apology or explanation, and brought it back after some minor repairs to fix it. The breakfast spread really lacks the quality and variety that is expected at this price point. To celebrate my birthday, we signed up for a 'Stargazing and Barbeque' experience at the sand dunes (this cost an additional 25k). While it was a wonderful experience to look at the stars and the moon through a telescope, and be outdoors on the sand dunes, the food did not meet the mark on many levels- we were served raw chicken and a grainy chocolate mousse. I think the property was founded and created on some wonderful principles, but the implementation needs a LOT more work for them to call themselves a 'luxury retreat' and to be priced at this price point.

Brilliant and relaxing stay in Nubra valley. The views were incredible (from our room and the property generally), the room was very comfortable, clean, and the shower was great. The food was delicious. And most importantly the hospitality was fantastic. We were lucky enough to see a show from local nomads which was great. The manager, head of the hotel, receptionist, chef, hospitality team were all incredible - too many people to list!
