About this cabin rental
Located in Alto, this charming cabin for $290 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Dreamy Alto A-Frame perched on a hill with gorgeous views of Sierra Blanca Mountain! This home will require 4 wheel drive or chains in the winter. Walk up steps to the deck gazing over all the views and there you will find the entrance door. As you enter to the left is a bedroom with private bath. Upstairs there will be the open living room with perfect views of Sierra Blanca, high ceilings, and the large kitchen. Access the deck from the living area. Off the kitchen is 1 bedroom with full bath. Enjoy the enclosed back patio with the BBQ grill. Upstairs you will find the Loft bedroom with a King bed, 2 twin beds, 2 full beds, and a futon sleeper. This home will sleep up to 14 people comfortably. Ruidoso is an alpine mountain community. Expect twisty roads with steep grades. The weather is unpredictable and changes quickly. Elevation can vary between 6000’ to almost 12,000’. Most homes are multi-level with stairs on inclined lots. Expect wildlife to hinder traffic flow. Do not be surprised if the power goes out or when you lose internet or cell phone connection. This is the mountains, and it happens. We encourage guests be prepared with access to chains or 4-wheel drive in winter months for all our properties. This is not the big city. Life is easier and slower paced and more wonderful. This is why we come and why we stay. Relax and enjoy your time in paradise.

But the last morning there was no water at all couldn’t take a shower or use the bathroom!!!!!!
We tried calling every phone number we could find and couldn’t get in answer, just so you know if something goes wrong don’t expect any help at this place!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful house in Alto
We loved this rental so much last year that we came back again this year. The views are gorgeous and this house is beautifully decorated in a south western style. A lot of steps since it’s on 3 levels but not an issue for our family. The management has always been very helpful in answering our questions. The neighborhood is amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain View. The deck and patio areas boasted an amazing view and the house was super clean and spacious. My only complaint would be the amount of steep stairs. I had to constantly keep an eye on my 2 year old daughter. I would highly recommend this rental as long as you are prepared to get a work out on the stairs.

My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) stayed at this lovely home for a week. We wanted a relaxing vacation and this home provided just that.
Pros: 1. The view from the 2nd floor balcony is fantastic! We started and ended our days there just watching the sky change.
2. The kitchen is well stocked with linens, glassware, silverware, cookware.
3. LOTS of beds to chose from to sleep. The beds were very comfortable.
4. The patios were nice to eat our meals and gather as a family.
5. Generally quiet neighborhood (voices did carry from the neighboring property though nothing too loud). Golf course nearby has walking trail, we also took walks on the road.
5. Washer/dryer on premises with detergent supplied.
6. Lots of soft towels for bathrooms.
7. City of Ruidoso is only short trip away. We had to replenish our food once. Also picked up some pastries at local bakery. Spent a few hours at Grindstone Lake, which was nice (bring some shade if you plan to go).
8. Check in and check out were a breeze. We arrived just as the office was closing, Crystal still took the time to meet with us and go over the paperwork.
Cons:
1. The loft bedroom was hot despite ceiling fan. My teen daughters shared the bedroom off the kitchen. It didn't impact us too much.
2. LOTS OF STAIRS! We have a toddler son so we had to find ways to keep him safe (our own fault for not thinking ahead). My husband and I got a workout coming and going from the master bedroom to the living areas. After we lugged our belongings up the from the car and up to the 2nd floor, we discovered the driveway wraps around the house nearer to the back door off the kitchen. Knowing this would have saved our knees!
3. Minor wasp problem on the front patio (was reported to management company)
4. Minor leak on dishwasher (also reported). We used a casserole dish to catch the water.
Overall it was a great rental. We would love to come back

Great getaway
We are so pleased we chose this property for our stay. The check-in process was simple with great service. The property is clean, spacious, and beautiful. The upstairs balcony has an amazing view! Rhonda and her staff were absolutely the best that I have worded with. Unfortunately we did not end up staying in the rental due to something in the unit that caused my wife's asthma to immediately act up once entering the unit. Rhonda and staff did everything they could to accommodate us and it was very much appreciated.
