We had a family wedding in the area, so we booked a week at Villa Rocca as it looked ideal - we were right!
We loved it, kids loved it, wish we'd have stayed longer.
Sonia was available by phone if we needed anything - but all ran smoothly from check in to check out.
Perfect.

The villa is secluded and quiet, but shops and eateries are within easy reach by car. The communication with the owners was superb. Check in was easy and upon arrival the villa was very clean and very well appointed. There was a whole host of games and electronics available, as well as the beautiful pool, which is in sun all day. It is difficult to write a rave review, as it deserves, because I’d worry about the villa not being available in the future! The owners have thought of everything. If you like to be away from noise and people then this is the place for you, but the locals are very friendly and the local festivals are great. The only surprise was that on arrival the air con was metered at 1 euro for 10hrs. However, the villa is so cool (we went in 30°+), that we would put it on for 1hr before bed and that would see us through the night, with the fans, very comfortably, so it really wasn’t a problem. This is probably one of the best appointed villas that we’ve stayed in and we would love to return. You won’t be disappointed with the villa, the pool or the very helpful owners, and the surrounding scenery is stunning. Thank you.

We rented this villa in Juli 2022 with our 3 teenaged sons. It is a well-equipped house with a nice pool, although too small for 10 people. Initially we enjoyed our holiday until we got robbed. Two MacBook Air, an iPad, an ereader, a rucksack and a wallet with ID and some cash was stolen. In value more then the rent! Horrible experience! But although the owner immediately arranged for a neighbor to come over, the owner concluded, all the way from the United Kingdom, that there were no traces of burglary, without speaking to us, only to the neighbor. We did lock all the doors but did not close the shutters at the back door. And that was, according to him, the invitation for the burglars. However, those shutters can’t be locked! And when closed, they can be easily opened with a screwdriver or even simply by hand. After that opening the locked door is a piece of cake as it is a flimsy door without any security pins or solid locks, whatsoever.
The owner was no help with the police although he is half Italian and speaks the language.
Afterwards we got a bill for repairs to a door that was, according to the owner, not damaged!
We think that the owner is responsible for offering proper security and a flimsy door and shutters that can be easily opened. Moreover if the shutters are such an important part of the security the owners should have put up a white sign as they have all over the house indicating proper use of things.
The fact that we were robbed was shocking but the reaction of the owners was appalling!

Sehr schönes Haus in sehr schöner Umgebung

Perfect getaway - mountains, sea and more
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house. Incredibly well equipped and furnished - we wanted for nothing in the kitchen; even proper Champagne glasses! Outside covered seating area was stunning, providing shade during the day, and warmth (when needed) during the evenings, and shelter from occasional August stunning mountain thunder and lightening storms - what a joy to watch with a glass of Montepulciano in hand. The mid holiday clean and laundry change was much appreciated. Incredible pool and loved the colour changing lights. Proper rural Abruzzo - Maria’s shop in Limiti was fantastic - provided all our needs, particularly for 15 year old son’s focaccia habit! Regularly had a drink in the evening there chatting with the locals in our terrible Italian. Recommended butcher was outstanding and made every BBQ one to remember. Thank you - a real treat, and a holiday we will always treasure.

Lovely Villa
We found the villa was finished to a high standard, was spacious, clean and tidy. It has a good internet connection which let us watch Netflix and rent movies when we needed a break from the sunshine. The kitchen is well equipped and supermarkets and restaurants are about 15 minutes away by car, which are good value. The villa has AC although we didn't need to use it much as with the windows open the villa was a nice warm temperature. The pool was great for kids & adults with both shallow and deep ends perfect for playing or swimming. The local landscape and villages are beautiful and we visited the sandy beaches at Pescara a few times which were about a hour away. We had a great time at Villa Rocca!

Dejlig villa i flotte omgivelser

Very nice stay at Villa Rocca !
(July 20th - August 5th 2018) We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Rocca. Beautifully situated near the Majella mountains, breathtaking views, very authentic region which has a lot to offer! 30 mins from the sea (very characteristic 'costa dei Trabocchi'; traboccho = kind of fishermans pier), rafting, stunning mountains and canyons, castles, medieval hill-top villages, too much to sum up. On approx. 10 km distance is the famous De Cecco pasta company, tucked away between the rocks and mountains (guided tour possible we think). Just around the corner is another pasta company where they make the 'pasta di papa' (the pope's pasta). At 25-30 km is the breathtaking waterfall in the Rio Verde (200 meters high !). Don't miss the castello in Roccascalegna, built on an overhanging rock. Our oldest daughters (17 and 16 years) went shopping in Pescara while we (Mom & dad & our youngest children) went to the sea in Pescara. Beds are €8,- p/pc - p/day, acceptable for a day of beachfun in the middle of a fairly big city. Lovely food in Pescara, we recommend Birreria Del Corso (which is a bistrot like restaurant in reality) for their authentic seafood-pasta dish, which itself is packed in a pizza (roasting pan included). Also lovely: medieval Lanciano.
The house: very comfy, more than spatious enough for a 6 person family, big and modern kitchen, big and comfy bedrooms, nice patio with roof and nice swimming pool. All is very well maintained. Once a week all linen and towels are cleaned / replaced and the pool is cleaned. You really feel like living in the nature but don't feel 'left alone', at 100 - 200 meters there are neighbours, little fields and olive groves, little bushes and the like: rural / nature. Supermarket at 10 minutes drive, minimarket at 2 minutes drive. Certainly recommendable accomodation !!!

Very comfortable retreat
5 of us ( 2 adults and 3 teenagers) made a 14 week stay between July 22 and August 5 2017. The accommodation was very clean and well presented - the mid visit cleaning of both pool and house was both welcome & excellent. The outside and pool are of a good size and provided terrific entertainment in temperatures that touched 38 degrees. The house is very well stocked with all the utensils and appliances you could ever need, the local shop is also well stocked with bigger supermarkets only 10-15 minutes away. I would advise to book ahead when eating out as you are in a rural location and off the main tourist track - but the quality is very good. The house is surrounded by a wonderful rural landscape yet the coast & tourist beaches are only 40-45 minutes away by car. We visited the coats several times and Pescara with its traditional tourist attractions is only an hour away. We travelled to the house from Rome Airport - much better to do from Pescara. All told an enjoyable stay in a relaxing and beautiful location

Wonderful retreat in the mountains
We had a lovely week at Villa Rocca. The villa was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Maria at the local shop was very friendly and helpful, and impressed that we knew who she was when we first went in! The weather was hot (32 degrees) so the pool was very welcome, with the water a perfect temperature. Fantastic views of the mountains from the pool area. We managed a day at the coast and a day trip to Rome, but enjoyed visiting the local villages just at much. In fact the real highlight was the walk up the valley from the top of Pennapiedimonte, starting near the Pinna Rock. Wonderful views and lots of beautiful butterflies. Just don't forget to take lots of water with you if it’s a hot day! Definitely hope to return one day.

Our stay at Villa Rocca, was superb. We were two families, with 5 teenagers/early 20's in the group. The villa has excellent flexibility accommodation with plenty of space. The house is spotless and very well equipped, especially for those that like to cook and prepare the local produce. Although the closest town is a 12 minutes drive away, Maria's shop can cater for virtually all your daily needs, including the excellent local wines. The local area is well worth exploring, both for walking and local restaurants.

Two families with 4 teenage boys spent a wonderful week relaxing in and around the villa. We made the mostly the pool day and night and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The Villa was very well set up and Greg and Sonia have thought of everything including toilet by the pool and a warm water shower as well. The welcome treat was very much appreciated and a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend the villa and would love to return sometime in the future.
Many thanks once again, Scott and Susan Hill

Ciao, molto buona!!
Second time for my family & I. The Villa and area ticks all our boxes. I travelled with my wife, we are in our forties, our 12 year old son, my mother who is 77, my 37 year old brother and his 3 year old daughter. Difficult to please all ages, but this villa was perfect for all and the area had something for everybody. I visited the Vatican, the sistine chapel, simply stunning, the colosseum and we spent many hours on a beautiful sandy beach and then dined on a trabocchi, that is an evening everybody should try once.
The Villa's facilities are impressive, everything is clean, modern and plentiful. the owners really have tried to give you everything your going to need.
Holiday perfection. Highly, highly recommended.
Arrivederci

Villa Rocco
We had a great family holiday in Villa Rocco. There were 4 adults & 3 children in our group. The Villa was clean & tidy when we arrived and there was a very welcome bottle of fizz in the fridge. We had driven from Rome & the plan was to pick up some groceries in Chieti. Unfortunately we missed the shop by 10 mins. So once everyone had chosen their room we cracked the bottle open. Thanks Greg & Sonia. That small detail summed up Villa Rocco. Everything has been thought off. The Kitchen was very well equipped, as was the living area with large flatscreen tv, dvd, apple tv, ipod dock & broadband. We all enjoyed the pool. Just sitting by it looking at the scenery was a joy. The local supermarket (Eurospin) is approx. 15 mins drive in Casoli. Not huge but it has all you need. Excellent prices on wine. We would recommend Villa Rocco to anyone looking for quality accommodation.

Perfect Holiday Spot
Just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Villa Rocco. There were 8 adults in our group and the Villa provided plenty of space for all of us. The Villa was immaculate when we arrived and made it feel like we were the first guests to use it. Very well equipped and tucked away in the middle of nowhere but no shortage of excellent restaurants within a short drive. Amazing scenery and the lovely villages around which all seem to have special viewing points so dont just drive through, well worth taking a walk to explore. The river rafting at Lake casoli was great fun if you can take cold water! Only problem some of us had trouble finding a flight to Pescara so flew to Rome and had scenic drive from west to east. Sonia and Greg have thought of everything and the villa folder was full of information. Thank you Sonia for all your help prior to our holiday. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful beautiful location, would definitely go back

Awesome Abruzzo Abode
A lovely, spacious house with everything you need, including a pool to keep you cool and spectacular country surroundings to replenish your spirits. Situated in a verdant valley with views to the snow capped mountains and hill-side villages in one direction and fields in the other, the location is fantastic if you want to get away from the 'hustle and bustle' yet have all the amenities.
If so inclined, the nearby villages feature many great restaurants and cafe/bars as well as shops, bakeries, butchers, etc. We ate so well it was incredible and most of it was locally raised/produced. Then there was the local wine, which was plentiful, good and inexpensive!
The house was in very good order and well supplied with plenty of space in the bedrooms, wonderful bathrooms, and a very large common living/dining/kitchen area.
We spent three weeks in Europe (Athens, Santorini, Provence and Abruzzo) and this week was an absolute highlight!!
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

good
A well appointed and very clean villa in the perfect location to explore Abruzzo. The road link to the coast is ideal not only for the beaches but also to visit Vasto and Pescara. Pescara you can shop in high quality shops in the morning and then have lunch and spend the afternoon on the beach. Parking is not easy but the sea front car parks seem the best. The mountains and hill towns are spectacular and the people are very friendly and patiant while you try your Italian. If you stay here you will have a car so please support the local garage for your fuel which is also a supermarket and builders merchants and the owner is a dream. The purpose for our visit was two fold, first to relax and enjoy life after a couple of health scares and the second to house hunt for a place to move to permantly and we were successful with both. The weather was clear blue skies and 30 deg every day the sea was so warm and safe. We had a wonderfull time and to full credit to the owner the only niggle we had was dealt with very promptly and proffesionally . Its not cheap but neither are most things worth having.

Beautiful. Peaceful. Idyllic.
Quiet location in the mountains, beautiful pool, the holiday home is spotlessly clean, and well thought out with all mod cons from karaoke to dishwasher. As a family of seven visiting for a relaxing holiday, it was ideal!
A car is essential as it really is in the middle of nowhere, you may want to research dining out and identify a few target eateries as we (vegetarians) struggled to find any restaurants in walking distance but were happy to travel a few miles and found very nice places with good food and friendly staff. But hey with a pool a BBQ and good company you don't really need to go anywhere else!
The owners were very helpful and responsive from the first enquiries to returning the deposit.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes the out doors the mountains hold many secrets, and the coast is a reasonable distance.
it's also great for groups families or friends as there is ample space indoors and out

Villa rocca
The villa was everything we expected and more. With a family with 5 young children we are often disappointed as the accommodation is often smaller than advertised and not always child friendly, this villa was exactly how it was described. The accommodation was modern, very spacious and catered for all our needs (even a Playstation for the kids). It was immaculate on arrival both inside and out and was cleaned mid week (terry and Karen who look after the villa were great). The pool was a great size and the views from all round were spectacular. It is remote but that is one of its charms. We would recommend the river rafting at Lake Casoli (abruzzo rafting) which was great day out for all the family (even our 3 year old loved it). We didn't sample any of the local restaurants as it was difficult to get the kids away from the pool and the villa but also didn't fancy the drive in our minibus up the windy mountain roads in the dark! But the BBQ and well equipped kitchen was all we needed. We would definitely go back and recommend to friends the most relaxing holiday we have ever had - you simply forget time. We spent our first couple of days in Rome and the drive from west to east Italy was as scenic as Scotland but with glorious sunshine.

We had a great holiday at Villa Rocca. The Villa is fantastic, very modern, with all the amenities that you need. Greg and Sonia have thought of everything and it was so comfortable and relaxing.
The Villa was exactly as the pictures and description stated and was very clean and well set out. The pool was great and there was everything you needed for sunbathing and having fun. The area is rural but lovely and the local shops are great.
I would highly recommend this property for those who are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle and want to relax and enjoy the sun with some good food and some lovely local wine!

Italian family holiday
Brilliant!!.............Perfect location and an absolutely brilliant place to stay. Accommodation is very well appointed, and finished to an extremely high standard.
Took 8 of my relatives, ranging from my 11 year old son and niece to my 74 year old mum and every age in between. Everyone said it was an amazing place to stay.
Ventured to the local bars and as far a field as Roma. Every place I went to, I was met with nothing but compete friendliness.
I couldn't recommend this property enough. I definitely will be booking this property again in 2014.
