What a great, secluded area. It is extremely ascetically appealing. It is a great place for a 1-2 night stay to regroup and go home. It’s nice to be out in the middle of nowhere with the feeling of seclusion. It’s nice being 20 minutes from Dripping and Wimberly. It’s very modern and definitely a fancy, modern bachelor pad with a decent designer. We are both glad we experienced it but ready to go home.
A few things- cleaning and smell is not a priority. There was a funky smell on the sheets, in the shower, and on the couch. I’m not sure it’s been ‘deep cleaned’ but possibly only a quick surface clean in between each stay. The coffee pots about made me gag; including the Keurig that was calcified so bad in the water container that it could not have even been used. There was hair and mold in the corners of the shower and the glass was speckled with cloudy spots. I’m not sure how they clean but they need to invest in a different company. The sheets had stains (I am sure they are permanent), including the robes supplied. Plus, both materials smelled very funky. I’m not sure if it was the water or detergent. It’s also very light to sleep if you are sensitive to that. They do have a curtain and drapes but it does not block light. I wish I would have brought an eye mask. Overall, it is a decent place compared to 10+ properties we have stayed at in Texas but even the trees block a lot of the view it. I would say it’s 100% not worth $500/night. I have paid far less to stay in Vail, CO and actually see mountains a view in the snow compared to this option. I’m still giving it a 4 because everyone has their own opinions but cleanliness is my thing, and I give this about a 2 on the scale of that.
