The Quinta is beautiful. We stayed in the largest single room on the property - two stories, beds were on the top floor, living area on the bottom. It was very comfortable and large. It was decorated simply, which we loved. We purchased two bottles of wine from the minibar, which were very economical and delicious. The breakfast was very good and the woman who served it each morning was very sweet! The booking.com/google earth directions are not accurate. It takes you to a road, prior to the gates to the Quinta, which is not correct. We were able to figure it out, but providing additional directions online would be helpful.

The beds were too hard for us. We have found this is typical outside of the US, so we may just be spoiled!

The staff, the room/house, the breakfast, the pool, the location, everything was perfect!! I’ll come back!!!

This is a 500 year old estate that has been lovingly restored and updated by Arne and his wife, on a series of terraces overlooking the Douro river. The hosts were warm and welcoming. We particularly appreciated Arne giving us a tour of the property and explaining all the work they have done.

The breakfasts and the view

The rooms were extremely cold as it is a two floor house and the owner had only switched on the AC at 21 degrees before we arrived. We were received by one of the owners who showed us quickly the house, told us the wifi password and entrance code. No recommendations for dinner or sightseeing. Later we arrived to the closest restaurant and we were told that normally the owner books the restaurant in advanced for people who stay in the quinta da aguia. This meant that we needed to drive way more to get to the closest restaurant. Following morning, we told the owner that we didn't sleep that well and her reaction was that maybe we were sensitive to cold... I explain her it was not the case as I come from the Mountains in Portugal. We had all heatings connected all night and we slept with all blankets (very thin ones btw). So for 90 Euros per night, I don't recommend

Service was phenomenal and breakfast has everything! Arne and Anabel and Margareta made the stay wonderful, great morning chats with a quaint, charming and quiet location over looking the douro River. Fresh squeezed oj, lemon tea and delicious coffee for breakfast. The place was exceptionally clean, with a good mix of modern and old. They serviced the room daily, which was much appreciated.

It's a bit away from the highway with windy roads, but it's required to look over the river.. Very well worth it and makes for a fun drive!

Everything! Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable room. Owners were very nice and friendly.

Not stay more time.
