Beautiful turn of the century Victorian home (built 1900) offering private/cozy & quiet bedrooms on the second floor with main floor private entry. Bedroom #1----- 12' x 14', king bed, includes a 12' x 14' sitting room and a large marble bath with walk in shower and double sink vanity. Bedroom #2---- 12' x 10' , queen bed, with a private marble bath Amazing woodwork with all the charm of an antique home but with needed modern amenities of updated baths (no kitchen). Our home is powered by Clean Energy---Renewable*Connect. LED lighting throughout. Enjoy your morning coffee (selection of Kuerig cups provided). Portland Place is located in the "Central" neighborhood in South Minneapolis a very urban and ethnically diverse neighborhood--less than 10 minutes to almost anything you want to do or see in the Mpls area. Private front foyer and staircase. The property in our separate living space is home of 2 cats, don't be surprised if they greet you on the porch (they do not have access to your second floor). Our home and neighborhood is GLBT friendly. This is a perfect option for a quiet relaxing stay--not a good fit for a party weekend. This stay was wonderful! I can't say anything negative about it. We knew exactly what we were getting, the owner was friendly and informative, the house is beautiful, and we felt safe. It was great having the owner on site in case anything needed attention. The beds were very comfortable. If I visit the area again, I'm checking the availability of this property first.

What a great house! Perfectly located between the airport and city, and very close to the mall! This place was immaculate and very cozy, and we absolutely loved staying there. Jeff was fantastic to work with and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Thanks Jeff! We will stay here again!

This is an absolutely beautiful remodeled Victorian home in a historic neighborhood with all the comforts of home including a lush four-poster bed, two TVs (although I hardly watched them), a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and clawfoot tub, complimentary wine and chocolate, and other thoughtful details. The owners are absolutely wonderful, friendly and helpful when you need them but give you privacy to enjoy your stay in peace. The immediate neighborhood is a bit slim on amenities but there's plenty of shopping and restaurants not more than a 5-10 minute drive to nearby neighborhoods and downtown. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and romantic stay.

The property was well suited for us. We each had a bedroom and bathroom to ourselves. Cozy seating area where we made our meals in the microwave or went out to experience new flavors. Hosts were very responsive if we had a question or needed anything.

When we arrived at the VRBO we were greeted by the host, Jeff, who was wonderful. And the house was absolutely lovely. I asked about things to do, places to visit and suggestions for dinner. He had mentioned that you had to be careful in this neighborhood and vicinity and gave us a few suggestions for dinner. We went to dinner about 1.5 miles from the VRBO and struck up a conversation with 2 ladies at the table beside us. When we told them the neighborhood we were staying in they just kinda looked at us and said it was not a safe neighborhood. When we returned to the VRBO and went up to our room my wife looked out the window and noticed that the lights on our vehicle were flashing so I went down to check on the car. Within 5 minutes of returning from dinner someone busted out the back window, attempting to steal the car. The police said they probably thought it was a different make/model car, one that can be stolen very easily. Needless to say we did not stay there for the remainder of our vacation.

We had a great time in Minneapolis. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Portland place. The hosts were friendly. The house was beautiful, spacious and clean. It was close our concert venue. It is an absolutely beautiful home. Furnished with gorgeous wood hutches and such; bathrooms with marble vanities, beds extremely comfortable, a bathroom for each bedroom. Clean, quiet and private. If an opportunity arises, I would definitely stay here again!

This was a great central location for visiting friends from NE Minneapolis to Eden Prairie. It's easy to get to from all directions, and the house itself is quiet with lots of leafy trees in the front to make it feel like a serene getaway. It's very well-maintained and clean, and the owners appear to be continually making improvements.

The house was absoultly georgous. The front garden was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the porch. The owner lives downstairs and is very friendly and attentive.

I recommend this beautiful 2nd floor of a Victorian mansion to everyone. It was even better than I expected. The owner greeted me on the front port with the keys and then carried my bags upstairs for me (thank goodness). He was welcoming, friendly and kind. When I thought I was settled in, I had to call him twice with questions. He appeared immediately with a smile on his face. The place is absolutely beautiful. I loved the antiques and four-poster king bed. It's the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Everything was spotless and furnished with coffee and the fixings, microwave, refrig/freezer, beautiful white bathroom towels; I could go on and on. Please consider staying here. It's worth every penny and more. Thank you for an awesome stay, Jeff!

This was my second stay. It is a lovely setting, and I consider the lack of a kitchen to be a plus, not a minus. I don't want to cook, or clean up after others cooking! The space is spotless and Jeff and Jon are so nice. I hope to go back for a third stay. I especially enjoy sitting on the front porch. It is an oasis in the city, and I'm grateful to have found it.

If you love beautiful Victorian houses, you'll want to stay here. I only wish it had been slightly warmer so we could have enjoyed the front porch before we had to leave for the airport. As it was, the sitting room was a lovely place to enjoy our morning coffee. Street parking in front of the house was always available.

I LOVED staying here! This upstairs apartment is perfectly appointed for the era of the house with an updated bathroom. The host was kind, helpful, and attentive to detail. I give it the highest recommendation!

We would give 5+ stars if we could do that. Having a space with two bedrooms and two bathrooms was particularly nice and allowed my mother, sister, and partner to all stay together while still having enough privacy. We were impressed by the detailed attention that went beyond what we expected. From the live flowers and plants to the thoughtful complimentary treats and beautiful room decorations, the space was set up with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Jeff beautifully held the balance of being a gracious and responsive host without being intrusive during our stay.

This house was so charming, and the owners were so nice. The beds were comfortable, and everything was very clean. If I had one thing that could have been better, it would have been for the road and sidewalk to be shoveled free from snow. They did shovel the front walk to the gate and front door, but once you got to the sidewalk and street, there were piles of snow, and it was hard to get to the car some days. None of those things are anything about the house really, but it made getting to the house a challenge since we had to park on the street. Overall, I really lobved it, and I would stay there again.
