This cottage was amazing! The location is beautiful and quiet and we saw a manatee and an otter right behind the cottage! There are also kayaks, a paddleboat, and a canoe. We used the canoe to explore the area behind the cottage and we saw manatees each time we took the canoe out. The hosts were great checking throughout our stay via the vrbo app to make sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice relaxing place to stay in the Homosassa area!

This was a great quaint cottage to get away. After the hustle/bustle of the holidays we needed to chill and this was perfect. It’s so quiet. Dennis and Debra are very responsive and right next door if we needed anything. We were fortunate enough to have 3 different manatee sightings! We would visit again in a heart beat.

We loved our stay in the cottage more than any other vacation we have done! We travel (out of Alaska) often and this was by far the most magical and enjoyable place we have been. If you are looking for an amazing, cute, and enchanting getaway in Florida, consider this cottage and be drawn in to the gifts it has to give. The towns nearby offer so many options, there is something for everyone to do and experience here! Thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to stay at this lovely place. We are truly blessed to have come across such an amazing family and place!

I had an amazing stay at Dennis and Debra's waterfront cottage!!! It's serene ambiance greeted me like a warm hug. I love the vintage accents within the eclectic decor, the tranquility of watching river life glide through the water, and the water access to the Halls River and connecting springs.
While in the area, I did enjoy exploring some local seafood markets, Brook's Dockside in Inglis and Aripeka Stone Crab Company which I would both highly recommend. Being right on the water, I launched from the cottage and paddled the Halls River up to the springs and down to Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs State Park. It was a beautiful paddle! I was able to photograph so many birds. I ate lunch at The Crab Plant, stone crabs of course, and they were spot on, On my previous visit to the area, it was too windy to paddle Kings Bay down to Three Sister's Springs, but this trip did not disappoint. So many manatees have already migrated into the area. What a treat to see!

We had a enjoyable stay at this clean cozy cabin on a canal adjoining the Halls River. From the yard we saw a manatee, an otter, and storks, with owls hooting in the evening. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, just next door. We had our own kayaks, and found the location ideal for trips on the Chassohowitzka and the Rainbow rivers. On land, we saw hundreds of manatees in the three sisters spring on an early morning, and we spent a couple hours at the nearly Homasassa wildlife state park. Although the cabin has no stove, there is a grill, microwave, coffee maker and several electrical appliances, and laundry next door. There is a great BBQ shack (Beans) and an upscale restaurant (Wallaces) within a mile.

My husband and I stayed at this cottage for one week in November. The cottage was the perfect size for the two of us. The kitchen was well equipped. The internet worked well. The patio and view of the water was so tranquil and quiet. We enjoyed taking the canoe and kayaks out a few times. We saw manatee, tons of fish, birds and a sting ray. There was a pair of wood storks that visited and enjoyed eating scraps of bread. The location is great. There are restaurants, shopping and attractions nearby. This place is also within an hour of many great things to explore. We hiked the Withlacoochee forest, went to Three Sisters Springs, went to Cedar Key to explore and have lunch, did the lower Suwannee river nature drive, went to Rainbow Springs state park, explored downtown Crystal River, went to Boyett's Grove Citrus Attraction, and explored several small towns. There is a ton of hiking and kayaking in the area. We didn't mind the cooler weather, and the heat at the cottage worked well. Stop in at the Seafood Seller for dinner and indulge in the Chubby Mermaid sundae at Guyer's Ice Cream & Doughnuts. Both are fantastic. Our VRBO hosts were great and we thoroughly enjoyed their cottage. Everything in the home was clean and smelled fresh. There were plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. We were very comfortable.

Wonderful little house with lots of unique features: curved wall, antique TV, radios, etc.. Creek water very clear. Lots of property for our puppy to explore. We took the canoe out to explore the waterways. Dennis told us about a little lake we could paddle to and maybe see some Manatees. There were several Manatees in the little lake and one of them came up to the canoe. We got to pet it. Other larger ones came near and we were able to watch them munch on their aquatic salad. The water was that clear! One item off our bucket list! Awesome stay!

The view from the patio was very relaxing, we sat either on the patio or by the water for hours just enjoying nature.

The cottage was wonderful!! It was such a peaceful, serene getaway!! If there was a downside, it would only be the slow internet. Highly recommend this cottage and we will absolutely return in the future.

We loved the charming little cottage. It felt cozy and homey the moment we arrived. We spent a lot of time sitting by the water and watching the fish and turtles swim by. We took the canoe out for a couple trips, that was super cool. We definitely want to return! Best VRBO we have stayed in yet!

The property was clean and well stocked. Bed is comfortable. Close to so many awesome things to do. The home is also a great place to just sit by the river and relax. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay @ this charming little cottage - it was indeed tranquil!
The cottage was immaculate & very cozy.
We spent a lot of time lounging by the water - it felt like our own private koi pond. We saw a lot of fish, a few turtles & 3 river otters.
We used the kayaks - no manatee sightings, but we did see a few alligators.
The cottage is super conveniently located - central to almost everything to do in the area.
We loved that the property is dog friendly w/a fenced in yard.
We hope to return soon!

Such an adorable cottage!
Right on the water, we watched fish and turtles all day/night.
Will definitely stay again!

Very quaint cottage, perfect fit for 2 people. Very clean, plenty of towels, great coffee and wine spot overlooking the water.
We like to cook, so just a few critiques, one is that the kitchen could be a little bit more user friendly.
Second, it is a bit confusing getting to the property especially if it's later in the evening when you get there, thankfully there was a neighbor in a golf cart riding around and helped us out, maybe some directional signs would help if allowed.
Other than that it truly was a pleasant stay, we canoed, grilled out, and relaxed in the beautiful yard, we would definitely stay here again.

the cottage was very cute, clean and had everything needed. Location on the river was great. The weather didn't cooperate, so we were limited in what we could do or see. Will definitely try to come back sometime in the fall or winter.

It was very nice and quiet, easy to relax. Loved having the canal to sit by and watch wildlife as well as having the canoe and kayaks available.

We loved how quiet it was, the cottage was sweet. My husbands favorite part was taking the little boat out in the evenings. I loved all the small amenities in the kitchen, I would only add a hot plate to be able to boil water. I wanted a boiled egg, haha. We will definitely look into booking again.

Nice, cozy place. Woods on the other side of water. Private without being secluded. The water was clear and had alot of fish you could see swimming around. Caught fish in back yard and went out in boat and caught fish. Had fun!!!

We had the best time here! There are so many fun activities- we rode kayaks and took the canoe down the river with our pups. The yard is fenced in which was perfect for our dogs! Home is neat and clean with very charming decor. Dennis and Debra are so sweet and helpful with suggestions on fun things to do and the best places to eat. We loved it and can’t wait to come back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Everything that we were expecting! Scalloping trip got canceled due to weather, but we just enjoyed relaxing at the cottage instead. It’s wonderful to sit out back and watch the fish and paddle down the canal!

An unexpected beauty!
Cottage sits on corner of two small spring fed rivers. Quiet, Serene, Heaven!
We had everything we needed, and if we did need something, we just called and owners brought to us.
Pedal Boat, kayaks, canoe, fishing gear ready for us to explore the rivers (grilled Blue Catfish! yummy). We actually found an open gurgling spring!
Our last day, we watched a 3 foot juvenile gator swim in front of us. it kept coming back and watching us as we watched it!
There is an Emu farm at entrance of lake (we took canoe to get there)
We never felt threatened by the wildlife, although I am positive there are some big gators around.
This place is PERFECT for couples!
I consider it extremely romantic.
We usually do not ever return to same place twice. However, we are anxious to return here!

The property was fenced for our dogs. They have canoes, kayaks, pedal boat and fishing poles. Very quiet relaxing right on a river.

This cottage in Homosassa is the perfect retreat. The cottage is so cute and comfortable with extra touches like coffee, creamer, hot chocolate. The bed was comfortable and the tv has lots of streamers beside basic cable. Communication with Debra and Dennis was great. But the highlight is outside. We sat at the water as much as we could. There were kayaks, a canoe and paddleboat but we didn't have a chance to go out on the water. Crystal River Archeological park was a hidden gem and the Wildlife Park is always fun. We are looking forward to a return trip to this little cottage

Everything you could want is there. Very well equipped Cottage. Very relaxing stay. Dennis andDebra were very helpful and accommodating. Didn't get to see any Manatees. We were too late in the season. First week of May.

Check in and communication was very good. Beautiful property on a spring that feeds the Halls River which connects into the Homosassa River. Definitely use the kayaks and check out the nature! I plan on booking again sometime.

Dennis & Debra were fantastic hosts & we can't thank them enough for their hospitality. We tried a number of their recommended eateries & found them all to be very good...specially Wallace's for that perfect farewell dinner.
The cottage provided the perfect foundation for our trip...a welcome/private retreat after a day of activities...well-supplied, clean, very comfortable for 2. Having a serene morning coffee by the canal started each day, followed [on most days] with a wonderful paddle...either from the dock/canal, or by loading the provided kayaks & traveling to other destinations, each within a 30-minute drive.
If looking for that bungalow vibe & some fantastic water activities...we highly recommend!

This property is like being in heaven. It’s so beautiful here and peaceful. Very tropical and nature wildlife all around you. The place is so clean you could literally eat off the floor and I have never seen a bathroom so clean. My husband and I loved the bed so much we took off the sheets to see what the bed was. When we got home we got a new bed. They had all the little things like plenty of bottles of water but the regular water out of the faucet was really good as well. I thought I was going to miss not having a stove but they had everything I needed to prepare a large meal. I love to cook. The place was really tastefully decorated. And oh the fun we had with the boats they have to use. We saw manatees otters and lots or different birds. This place is like being in heaven. It was so privet that I could go out on the deck in my nightgown. Simply awesome

This place is absolutely perfect pictures don't do it any Justice The Host is by far the best host that we have ever had and I rent through vrbo a lot they were phenomenal the cottage is much larger than I thought it would be everything is there that you could possibly need it is so peaceful and so perfectly decorated if you were staying in this area this is where you want to stay it is a hidden gem it was within 5 MI of our Manatee swim but you can see all sorts of wildlife right there and you don't even need to leave the cottage he has a fenced in yard that is there is tons of lawn furniture I cannot express how perfect this place really is I was hesitant because I was not sure of the area but this place is the perfect location and has every I think that one could ask for they even include the coffee hot chocolate and popcorn for movies

Very nice, clean cottage in very peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed kayaking from their dock to the Hall and Homosassa River. Then quite evenings by the canal.
