Poorly managed property in a beautiful location

Available firewood. Quietness (very few other guests, now I understand why)

I booked our stay based on positive reviews but these reviews were not relevant because the property has both apartments and cottages. Apparently, the apartments are very nice but the cottages (which we booked) are not. I was disappointed with the lack of cleanliness, the poor upkeep and the breaks in the water supply in the cottage, the first one right after we arrived. We couldn't get drinking water nor shower. I attempted to contact the host by telephone, sms and email. It took them 40 hours to return my message. This was the biggest issue but my general impression was that the management doesn't do anything to improve the comfort or functionality of the cottage which was clearly built decades ago and needs maintenance.
