Situated in Montauk, this attractive house for $475 per night is a great choice for your next break. Secluded beach house, great for longs days at the beach. Has basic amenities; open downstairs floor plan: kitchen, living and eating area, 3 Bedrooms. One bedroom has a bunk bed., sleeps 8, full bath and half bath. Located one block east of Montauk Village, in a nature preserve south-east corner of Montauk Hwy & S.Etna Ave on a quarter acre. 5 minute walk to beach and town. Two decks, one outside the kitchen sliding doors, and an upper deck with a view. Side yard. The house is clean, comfortable and inviting. Interior painting done last season along with laminate flooring. Currently updating outside - painting and paving.

Great location- private, secluded and quiet but a 5 minute walk to the beach and less than 10 minute walk to town. Our family had a great stay! Comfortable, clean, spacious , and had all the ‘basics’ you need for a great stay. Would come back!

We chose this property because the location was perfect - close to town and the beach.
What we did not expect was less than halfway through our stay - we were out of clean bath towels. I reached out to the owner to ask if there was an option to have clean towels swapped out, since the house does Not have a washer/dryer. Surprisingly I was told by the owner that we were to reuse bath towels and enough towels for the whole week could not be supplied.
The listing clearly said towels were provided (that to me means enough towels for the entire stay). The home sleeps 8, therefore there should be clean towels for all guests for the week.
In addition to the bath towel shortage, there was only 1 hand towel provided in the bathroom and 1 in the powder room - we were also expected to reuse those for a week.. As far as kitchen towels, not 1!
As a property owner/host, if you cannot provide enough towels for your guests for their entire stay, you should be clear about that so guests can pack additional towels. It’s unsanitary to expect towels be used repeatedly.
In addition, toilet paper and paper towels were also listed as provided by the owner - there was 1 roll in each bathroom and 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen. In the listing it clearly states toilet paper and paper towels provided. Again, misleading.
Thanks to an inaccurate list of contents provided in the house, we had to add shopping for necessities to our vacation agenda (which could have been avoided if the listing was correct).
Sadly - this could be a good rental if a little bit of care went into the listing and details to make this one more comfortable.
It’s a quaint beach house, definitely needs some tlc and attention to non functioning light switches, outlets, sliders, cabinets, etc, but I’m not someone to give up hygiene and reuse towels multiple times.
Be honest about what’s included in your rental - with a higher cleaning fee than most rentals, it’s the least you can do!

Close to Beach
We had a fantastic stay. The house was great and in the perfect location, you can walk to the beach & town. 3 bedrooms can sleep 6-8 (if small children) comfortably. House had all we needed. I might add a pan for cooking, there was only one, but equipped w/ all other kitchen items, bathroom items & some towels provided as well. Nice back deck w/ 2 tables, upper deck off master bedroom so nice! We loved this house & will be back for sure! Owner communicated well & the process was easy! Thank you!

Nice beach getaway
There were a few disappointments early on , garbage strewn about and missing or broken appliances, lack of towels, soap and cloths. The owner did address the trash problem immediately. By day two we were overcoming the other dilemmas and just enjoying a cozy house by the beach. The master bedroom with its door to a deck, and comfy king sized bed was in itself a retreat. It was nice having two bathrooms, as we were 5 adults. An outside shower would be a welcome addition as there is just the one shower. I felt “at home” here, and we all lived on the deck as it was so private and large. The house is the first in from Montauk Hwy. so there is traffic noise always, and it’s far enough from the beach that you do not hear the ocean if you dream of that. The inside was very clean and freshly painted and IGA a stones throw away for any amenities/supplies needed. I gave the home a 4-star rating because I felt the photos on the web page were not updated or wholly accurate and the description not completely accurate either. Amenities were spotty like too much foil and no soap, no cloths or sponges or other cleaning supplies, etc. Otherwise it is a 5 Star house. The owners were fast in responding to the trash problem, and pleasant to deal with. We checked out at 10:59 and the maids were there before we pulled out of the drive, so they are on top of things. There is central air, and most windows/doors do not have screens so you need to rely on the air conditioning. I tried to be honest and thorough in my review because I did get a few surprises and find when traveling the least amount of surprises you encounter the better. Overall I would return, and especially would like to try the off season!

Perfect location
I stayed here with friends over July 4 week and we'd love to rent this house again. It's on a quiet street but an easy walk to town, and a 5 minute drive to Ditch Plains beach. Only one room has air conditioning, with the king bed, but the fans were enough to get us through July evenings.

We had an amazing time. The location was perfect, about a 7 minute walk to downtown Montauk. I would definitely recommend and plan to stay again!

Lovely house, close to beach and town
We had a wonderful vacation here (despite not ideal weather), and this was a perfect house for us. It was exactly what we needed--a short walk to both town and the beach. Very comfortable and just right for our family, including the dog! It meets so many needs--you can eat/hang out on the back porch or on the upstairs patio. Or, if you want to be inside, at the kitchen table or round table in the living room. There is a TV in every room, which was great for my kids. If you choose to take a walk early in the morning or evening, you might get a glimpse of deer or a rabbit! So much fun. I would also say that it is more attractive than the photos make it seem.

Great location, easy to find and reasonably priced. However, the house needs major overhaul of flooring, painting, etc. After the initial surprise of how much TLC was needed, we realized it was a great place that you felt comfortable in, rather than nervous over breaking anything. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed our stay. We had breakfast on the deck outside overlooking the nature preserve to the sounds of singing birds eveyday. Five minutes to the beach, golf and marinas, two minutes to town. plenty of restaurant info and guides in the house was really helpful too.

The location of the house is in a nature preserve, it gave you privacy and a filling of being in the country. It was a short walk or drive to the beach/ocean or the town. The house was clean but needed a little maintenance.
The family had a great time.
