Whoever cleans/checks the house after a visit did not do a good job. The fire pit was not cleaned out as required nor was the grill. It had to be cleaned before we could use it. Also, you are required to take the trash to the dump but no outside garbage can is provided so we had to go to the dump every other day. Not really something you want to have to take time to do when you are on vacation. And the neighbor next door does not pick up after his dog so be careful when walking yours.

We had a FABULOUS time at this home! It was perfect size for our family of five plus our dogs. We didn’t even really use the basement so more could have fit comfortably. The screen room was amazing to over look the water and you can’t beat the nice size yard with the privacy of the trees. Our daughters loved the beach area, and we all spent most of our time out in the water. We were sad our vacation had to end, and we hope to be able to make it back to this home again in the future. Denise, the owner was very responsive and great to work with too which is a huge plus. Thank you for opening your home to rent!

We've stayed at several houses in SML. We wouldn't stay in this one again. It wasn't very clean. Also, not great for swimming off the dock as it is very shallow. Because of it being shallow, it is hard to dock a boat.

Only issues were long hair (looked to be women's) stuck to the sides of the upstairs bathtub...some of the silverware was dirty and would have been nice to have the grass mowed before we came...the docks are really close together but wasn't really an issue...met our needs and we had a great time

We typically stay near the dam and enjoy a big week with my extended family (all of us in different nearby houses). We took a break from the big reunion but still wanted some time at the lake. This house was good because we were able to rent less than a week. The house had ample beds. It was a little tight in the space and the basement is definitely worn. The pool table had several rips and the bumpers were broken. Plenty of TVs which was nice. Roku on all of them which was even nicer. The kitchen was adequate except for the lack of a garbage disposal which was bad. (That should be flagged on the listing. Its basically a modern necessity.) Working with the owner was easy. There are three bathrooms but only two showers. . The dock is tiny if you plan on renting a boat but there is an upper deck for tanning which is pretty spacious and has a nice metal bench to watch the sunset. Overall we liked it and wouldn't mind coming back next summer

This property was perfect for our family of six, with plenty of room to spare. The home is clean, tidy, and comfortable.
Check in was easy, very clean, beds were comfortable and has easy lake access. The pool table was a bit worn and torn but to be expected after lots of use. The kids were still able to get enjoyment out of it! We enjoyed hours down at the lake. The older children loved jumping off the doc and the younger ones enjoyed playing on the sandy beach and shallower water. We enjoyed s’mores over the fire pit and family game/movie night in the evening. This property provided everything we could possibly need from our vacation. Next time we visit we will be staying longer!

Owner was nice, communication was good but not as described online. Loaded the dishwasher and laundry. Had some towels that wouldn't fit. All trash picked up and grill cleaned. Did forget dog poop pickup outside the last 2 days. Was charged damage fee for above and a sticker my granddaughter left on the glass door and sidewalk chalk. Bedbug bites on me, my granddaughter and one of my sons. Was told they were mosquito bites but have dealt with this issue once before at a Hilton. They are multiple bites in a line places mosquito's can't get to. Pool table felt was so bad you couldn't play and cheap mattress toppers that would slide off while trying to sleep. I asked during our pre booking conversations if the cove was deep enough to jump off the dock and was told yes. The water was a little under five feet. MY granddaughter could jump but none of the adults unless you wanted to hit the muddy bottom. The location was great but the house was not as described. The extra charge I can live with for what we missed. Sidewalk chalk and a sticker was a little over the top. The charge went up after I shared with the owner of the bedbugs and condition concerns. Quote from owner "It could have been a little tidier". One more thing, there is a large man with no shirt that smokes all the time that spied on us all week. The owner makes claims of what he saw but never was in the house.

The location on the lake was great. The grands played and played on the beach area. Nice that they could easily walk into the water. The screened in back porch was delightful. The house was clean and well appointed with kitchen items. Wifi worked well. The only issue was that the grill was dirty. It would be nice to have a covered place to sit on the dock. We really enjoyed the place.

The house was lovely and well maintained. The beach area was perfect for the kiddo and baby. The beds were comfortable on middle aged and old backs alike. The kitchen is well stocked (save a large cutting board) and it was easy to find everything. We did not use the upper deck much because of a bad ankle and a baby but when we did it was for the amazing views of the sunset on the lake.

As we pulled up, we saw the front of the house and caught a glimpse of the lake, vacation was about to start! The house was perfectly sized for 2 adults , 2 toddlers (6 year old) and a dog, with room for more! It was clean and inviting with all the amenities we needed from home. The beach and dock make a little "lagoon" perfect to keep the toddlers and dog in a safe distance. Wifi and water pressure, great! Kitchen has everything we needed, bedrooms are plentiful for our needs, and the bathrooms were clean and working. Even in the cool & rainy days of April, the covered back porch and deck (both upper and lower) allowed us to be outside and listen to the rain fall. Communication with the Owner was fast and friendly. Overall, this was a great find and we enjoyed our stay!!

Very clean house with extras to help us enjoy our stay, like lawn chairs, a fire bowl, life jackets, kayaks canoe, even toys. Our kids loved playing on the little sandy beach and it was lovely to kayak in this quiet cove that was close enough to paddle over to the state park. Great trip!

Our family had a lovely stay at SML. The kids did some fishing, and we enjoyed walks in the neighborhood with our dog. We played games, watched movies, and enjoyed just sitting on the dock. My favorite part of the house is the screened porch - comfortable and quiet with great views.

This is a lovely home not far from great day hikes like Tinker Cliffs and McAfee Knob and next to a pretty state park. But what made it perfect for us is the self-contained lower level with beds, full bath, seating area, mini fridge, bar sink and direct outdoor access with a patio. We brought a microwave and the couple that couldn’t quarantine because of military service stayed exclusively down here. We had meals as a group on the large screen porch, which was cozy with the small Christmas tree and heavy blankets we brought with us. There’s also a portable fire pit. Our goal was to be together but still safe, and this home was perfect for that. (Food Lion in Moneta even has curbside pickup.) The lake is lovely, but with temps mostly in the 50s we leaned toward hiking and climbing, and there were a lot of options nearby. This was a great holiday for the six of us!

The property was great! A nice view of the water through the trees, with an easy walk down to the water. Nice elevated party deck was great for watching sunsets and the screen porch was great for working during the day and relaxing in the evening. Plenty of board games also kept us occupied while the comfy beds encouraged us to sleep in.

Cozy home with comfy beds and great screened in porch. Overall, we had a nice experience and recommend this rental. Outdoor furniture needs a good cleaning. Adding furniture, including small tables to upper level of boat dock would make this space more useable.

The neighborhood was great for walking with our dog and son and it was only about 15 minutes to the Food Lion.
We loved our trip and this home, it was just perfect for us!

The location of this property was great. Short ride to restaurants at Bridgewater Plaza and close to several vineyards. The dock area was clean and having the beach area for our son was especially nice and the screened in porch was perfect spot to sip morning coffee! Recommend if you're looking for a good base while enjoying the lake.

Property was very comfortable for our family. We had a wonderful time. Would be helpful to have a grill in better condition. Would be helpful to have a permanent filter for the coffee pot. Would be nice to know that we were directly under the flight pattern (take offs) for local airport. Was not really a problem but was considerably noisy during the weekend daytime as people were practicing their flying lessons.
