We have enjoyed visiting Wellfleet for many years, but this was our first time staying in the center of town. The location was perfect for all our activities and interests. However, we could not access the property as the previous guests did not leave the keys, so I had to contact the agent and wait for her to bring the keys to us. While we waited, we saw that there were many toys and items scattered about on the deck. It looked as if the previous guests had just tossed belongings about. Both grills were dirty and full of ashes. We reported this to the agent who was surprised and understanding. Upon entering the house, we discovered that our linens had not been delivered (not the fault of the agent) and that the floors and counters were not clean. We spent some time sweeping and wiping down the kitchen. The floor should have been mopped. Overall, we enjoyed our week in Wellfleet but the backyard was the savior of our time in this house. We ate all our meals outside (the kitchen was pretty gross) and used the outdoor fireplace every evening while we cooked on the grill and played with children and dogs.

Unfortunately, the pictures were very deceiving. The house was dingy and dirty. The only comfortable setting was in the cottage on the property. There were toys strewed around when we arrived. There was a nest of birds living in the AC unit of the master bedroom. There were shower curtains missing and little privacy. A few of my guests had to stay elsewhere, given they couldn't sleep. Not worth the $$$. If you can, find another place to stay.

Reviewer Comments: rental experience w/cape cod realty was great. the property was very clean however - alot of clutter and small things that could've been put away for renters. the kitchen interior (cabinets, drawers, pots and pans were filthy and we spent most of our cooking prep time cleaning all the things we needed to use) while we realize the cleaning company is not responsible - the homeowners left the all that stuff a mess. basic cleaning after summer rentals is needed. but after our stay things were de-cluttered and much cleaner. otherwise great area, alot of room but definitely room for improvement. realtors were great. :)

This home was a perfect spot..close to the Beaches and walking distance to the quaint shops and restaurants in downtown Wellfleet. The backyard was private and perfect for our family dinners.
