Two blocks South of the Ironman Bicycle Turnaround Village atmosphere Large variety of activities, restaurants, hiking, snorkeling, bicycling, surfing, swimming, music, sky diving, and beaches close by. We can guide you to many guided ocean activities such as Manta Ray dives, snorkeling, horse back riding, zip line, and more. Easy access with lighted free parking. Private lighted entrance. Free use of washer & dryer on premises Allergy aware Free wi-fi Professional bicycle repair shop on premises Bicycle repair shop is small and quiet. Not a big retail shop. We just take care of the locals. They break them and we fix them. We are also a Certified Bike Fitter. You do not need to ride bikes to stay here but we are fully equipped to take care of any bicycle needs you may have Packages available include: If you ride your bike to a resort and tip a couple to many we will come and rescue you one time for free A few years back we decided to go to the 1st annual Catalina Jazz Festival We made our reservations eight months in advance and paid for them We stayed one night and then they moved us into another room You know: We really did not appreciate having to repack to move We hate surprises like that when we are in need of R&R And we are sure that you feel the same way We will go the extra mile to make sure that does not happen to you here!!! Since we believe that the definition of a Lady and a Gentleman is: Someone who is interested in the comfort of others before themselves. Clean, comfortable, well stocked, and good location. Our stay was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Hawi is a nice town with good food and several interesting shops. Definitely not a luxury resort area. The walk to town is short but no sidewalk along a busy street means you need to be careful. Great place to stay, great hosts, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

You could not ask for a better place. Betty and Larry are great hosts and their place is immaculate. They offer all the amenities (kitchen, beach equipment,etc. all in perfect condition) you can imagine and then some. We would go back there anytime. Mahalo Betty and Larry

Everything about this place was wonderful, but the highlight was the hosts. Meeting them and staying here felt like staying with friends. The location is terrific, and the space is great. The whole apartment was spotless. But the warm greeting -- including snacks! -- was the best part of this terrific experience.

The location of this house was perfect for our trip, right in the heart of Hawi. The property was peaceful and the house was beautiful and well cared for, Betty & Lawrence really put attention to detail in everything. They were really accommodating, helpful and responsive, all the way from the booking up until check out. They really helped us feel like we were on vacation. Having a peaceful, beautiful home to return to after a long day made our trip to 100% better. Mahalo Betty & Lawrence! We hope to visit Hawi again.

This apartment has a lot of the comforts and conveniences of home. The kitchen has high quality appliances and cookware, plus the hosts were kind enough to give us some excellent local fruit and a few things to snack on when we arrived. The wraparound lanai is wonderful for hanging out - and for morning yoga! The hosts also have a closet full of beach gear that we used - beach chairs as well as snorkel gear and boogie boards. It was great! The Hawi area is a bit away from the main tourist destinations on the island, but that makes it more relaxing. Highly recommend this place! I will say, though, that we did not stay here for our entire trip, as it is a bit far from certain things that we wanted to do/see.

This was a great place to stay. It felt quite roomy and open. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. While we were there, the temperatures were moderate -- we needed the fans and cross ventilation, and used the air conditioners in the bedroom sometimes, but it was quite comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Hawi is mostly outside the touristy zone, so it's less crowded and more relaxed than say Kona. This was one of the best places I've ever stayed with VRBO.

This property is totally set up for your comfort and has all all you would need for a fun time on the Big Island. One of the best VRBO's we have ever stayed in. The guide books and Binders they made up were a huge help in guiding us around the various places. The air conditioners in the bedrooms were a difference maker for us and much appreciated. Stay in a quiet, comfortable, and welcoming home away from home! Want to get away from the crowds yet be within a short drive to the best beaches and sights? Look no further. Betty & Larry have everything covered. You are within a minute of strolling downtown Kohala shops and restaurants. Easy and quick drive to see amazing sunsets and visit some of the best beaches around! The house is even stocked with everything you need for a day of snorkeling or just relaxing on the beach. Be sure to take the drive to Pololu Valley and grab some tacos at Gills Lanai if you do! Will be back!

If you enjoy waking up in a quite neighborhood with horses, chickens, and goats nearby, this is the place for you! Hawi is a lovely small town with fun boutiques and great sights nearby. Larry and Betty greeted us when we arrived and think of every detail, including the cold beer and organic fruit waiting for us! We enjoyed the large lanai and outstanding beach gear.

This was our first experience using a VRBO rental. We always stayed in a hotel but decided to check out VRBO and it was an exceptional experience and will continue to vacation with a VRBO because of our experience. We reviewed the comments made and they were all good comments, which also validated the cleanliness, the dwelling was exactly like the pictures and all the information they provided to make our stay so comfortable, easy and enjoyable. We also met with the hosts and enjoyed our conversations and shared a lot of helpful information. They provided so much more, than just a beautiful vacation home, they provided true Aloha Spirit. Yes, there were fruits and snacks set out for us, it was a home a way from home. Thank you again and we will share our experience by mouth to friends and family. This VRBO is VERY accurately described on the website. The photos are up to date showing a very clean and well maintained two bedroom rental. The bed mattresses were the most comfortable we have ever had at VRBO’s! The beach towels, beach chairs and snorkeling equipment were top quality and in excellent condition. When we arrived, we found a wonderful assortment of fresh organic fruit, cheese, crackers, fruit drink and Hawaiian beer in our kitchen. After we were settled in, Larry and Betty stopped by for a get acquainted visit and offered helpful advice on activities and locations that matched our vacation goals. A complete assortment of vacation activity brochures as well as local restaurant menus was displayed in our unit. The hosts live just downstairs from the rental, but we had total privacy and found that they were available for additional advice and information when we knocked at their door. The personal attention offered by Larry and Betty made our VRBO experience very positive and memorable. We highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone visiting the Havi community

The hosts, Larry and Betty, are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The kitchen is fully stocked with the exception of a microwave, which to weary travelers who wanted to reheat food late at night was a bit of a shock. However we quickly learned to adapt and the oven is too if the line combining convection as well as fryer capabilities, it was a joy to cook! There were fresh fruits and snacks awaiting us, lots of information on things to do and places to see, plus all you need to do is ask either Larry or Betty a question and they'll be happy to help. The closet is full of gear - snorkel, chairs (I need those chaurs, beach towels, etc.), there are games to play, books and magazines to read. One thing that is not within the hosts control is the early morning traffic noise, the ohana is on the main route over Kohala Mountain, so you have truck traffic in the early morning. Hawi is a cute village that's a short walk from the ohana which made for exercise to and from getting early morning smoothie or coffee if you don't want to make your own, in that fully stocked kitchen I mentioned early, I want that oven and refrigerator😁. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay with Larry and Betty again at their ohana. Thanks so much for the jokes, food tips, gardening tips and just being such gracious hosts. We stayed in this two bedroom apartment for a few nights and absolutely loved it. There is clean and then there is Larry and Betty’s apartment. It was absolutely spotless and sparkling when we arrived. I enjoyed working outside on the lanai and was able to walk into Hawi town to poke around the stores and cafes. The location is fantastic if you want to experience life on the island like a local, with the beaches and tourist sites still close enough to enjoy. Larry and Betty have thought of everything - the home has lots of books and guides about the island and the kitchen is well stocked. Internet and cell service was fast and reliable. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Mahalo for an amazing stay.

Enjoyed week in Hawi! Larry&Betty are excellent hosts. They made sure we had correct information and communication during our stay. Our apt. was clean, comfortable & convenient! All the beach equipment for family adventures is provided! We loved the large outdoor patio, modern decor, and spacious living area. We will return!

We reached the property at around 6:30pm and it was already getting dark but Betty (the hostess) received us as soon as we parked in the driveway. While we stayed at their place for just 2 nights, the warmth from both Betty and Larry will be remembered for a long time. Look forward to spending more time at their place when we visit Big Island next.

This turned out to be the perfect place to end our 25th Wedding Anniversary vacation! First, in their description "When we say fully furnished we mean fully furnished" those are not just words. It truly had everything we could think of, including a welcome snack (Mahalo!). Second, Larry & Betty could not have been more accommodating and checked in with us to ensure everything was to our liking and if we needed anything. You cannot go wrong with this unit, and we will definitely stay here again when we return to the island.

Everything was here for us on arrival. No worries. This place you can sit back and relax. Owners are there for you if you need assistance. Just the right 2 bedroom apartment for us. The only thing missing was iron. Washing machine should be Upstairs. Besides that..PERFECT!! 2 THUMBS UP

This was an excellent property. Very clean and well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. It was effortless to access as the owners are downstairs. Larry and Betty are gracious and welcoming hosts. The lanai was an exceptional place to sit and relax with views of Maui and the sunset. Would definitely stay here again!
