St Marys Guest House

Friendly staff. Fantastic location. Lovely breakfast. Clean comfortable room. Reasonable priced parking outside. Cosy. Caroline bends over backwards to make your stay an enjoyable one. She is a treasure.

Nothing.

We used the reviews of other guests when choosing this hotel and certainly weren't disappointed. We were given very detailed directions to get to the guest house walking from the railway station. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and the hall and dining area were both very bright, clean and lovely decorated. Cannot fault the breakfasts either. Where the guest house was, it was very central for walking into York and our room looked out to the back so was very quiet - we knew the railway was nearby but we never heard any noise from the trains We knew we were in a small double bedroom (room 3) and it was actually bigger than what we expected. We would stay again at St Marys

There wasn't a lot of storage space though and we did have a clothes rail with adjoining shelves just behind the door. Would've preferred this to be enclosed e.g. a small wardrobe or even with a curtain. The shower took a long time to actually heat up but once it did was fine. The room like the rest of the guest house was very clean

Lovely guesthouse, quiet location but very central, comfortable rom/bed and hood shower, great staff and plentiful parking

Nothing - but be wary of squirrel droppings if parking under trees

Location

The bathrooms are awful. Showers are tiny. Even for a small person. The water pressure awful. Really poor bathroom all together
