The town has eateries with lots of fresh seafood options, and pubs for grabbing a beer. Many of the restaurants offer take-out so you can take a picnic to the beach or pack lunch for a fishing trip. Other attractions that are worth visiting include
- Grand Isle Birding Trail: Bird lovers find two miles of trails with five observation areas in oak and hackberry forests. Wetlands and estuaries create a natural habitat for waterfowl, raptors, and pelicans.
- Grand Isle State Park: This park includes beaches, camping facilities, and a 400-foot fishing pier. Fish for trout and redfish, or go crabbing.
- Elmer's Island Wildlife Refuge: See wildlife thriving in its natural environment. This refuge, across Caminada Pass, holds 230 acres of unspoiled barrier beach.
