This place is really lovely. Being in amongst the trees creates a very relaxing environment. The room was a good size with comfy beds and a nice seating area. There was a decent coffee machine in the room as well as a speaker to play music. The big window with a view of the trees was amazing - especially when the deer visit at dusk. Nice and quiet place.
Breakfast was delicious and very comprehensive (lots of choices if you want western style or japanese style). All the staff are very friendly and accommodating (especially Ayako). The onsen was nice and I particularly liked that it was open all night as I prefer to use it alone or with few people in.
The shared chill out area and games room were something I wasn't expecting but a nice surprise. We made good use of this space and enjoyed the welcome drink - a nice touch. The hotel have electric bikes for hire for a very reasonable rate which we used to cycle to the Botanical Gardens.
A few previous guests have commented about the rooms needing a paint but it actually looks like they have chosen a rustic style of decor and it didn't bother us at all. It works with the industrial style of polished concrete in the bathroom. We were also almost put off by previous guests suggesting that the location is too far from anything. In reality it's a 5 minute walk down the driveway to a bus stop and a 20 min ride to Gora where you can connect to most places very easily.
We really loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are back in Japan.

Everything here felt special. The stuff is super helpful even during the heaviest rain...
The dinner and breakfast are perfect and super delicious, even if you are a vegetarian! The rooms, the Onsen area, and the public terrace are super to relax, work or just enjoy a drink. Also the surrounding villages are super cool to explore.
We will definitely come back one day!
Everything was perfect here! But I would recommend to come by car here, because it will be a bit more remote.

Loved our big comfortable room with our window, and wood burning stove. Also loved the onsen.

柔らかな木で覆われた浴室と外湯からの眺めが気持ち良かった。

客への対応がぎこちないところ。
部屋が乾燥しすぎている事。

We really loved the location, vibe and design of the hotel. The staff were really supportive and welcoming, really loved the service. Complimentary flat white coffee in the middle of the forrest is amazing too! :)
Hotel seems to be quite old and tired and might need renovation soon. It is visible when you look at the share space and rooms that they seem a bit “tired”.

The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot with the logistics of our trip. The room was clean and cosy and we especially enjoyed the relaxing onsen and aromatherapy massage. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this hotel, I am very impressed with the environment and service of this hotel. Especially Ms. Ayako Kondo made my whole trip very smooth. Her thoughtfulness and patience made me want to stay in this hotel again.

onsen and dinner were amazing, different courses per day. Breakfast basically the same each day, more western styled. room had a great view. Beds a little hard. Bluetooth speaker in room. Nice mini lounge area with couch and table to view the outside wilderness. Refrigerator. water heater, coffee/tea maker. Loungewear yukata and outdoor and indoor slippers provided. Nice cafe open separate from dining hall.
walls are peeling.

The hotel is amazing, right up in the mountains. Feels out of this world.
The bathroom in the lobby was a tad dirty.

A place where I can totally get rid of the harsh of the city once I put myself into the woods.
I have got there and entered at late afternoon, which is almost evening time. My wife and I can hardly find any bright direction leading us to the reception and just got lost in the woods for up to 10 minutes.

Onsen was alright
Dirty room (could need a new paint job, spiderwebs, aircon full of dust).
There was coming warm air into the room and not being able to turn off.
No vending machine at the complete hotel
No combini nearby

The Kaiseki dinner we had was such an amazing, authentic experience. I strongly recommend this. We also booked a hot stone massage treatment that was world class. The onsen was clean, relaxing, and worth the travel. Beautiful property!
We were so happy that a golf cart came to pick us up when walking up the hill from the bus stop! We didn't realize what a hike it was to get to the top.

room was comfortable and clean
quality of the food would be my biggest complaint. for what was paid, I found the value offered to be off. buffet breakfast even had no lattes or other fancier coffees and no ability to order outside of buffet choices. dinner, which I added to my reservation was subpar and not worth the high cost.

Beautiful property
The dinner was not good value for money but the stay was.

Incredibly peaceful and relaxing location, comfortable and spacious room, excellent food and drink, friendly and courteous staff, good coffee for free at the cafe, lots of outdoor spaces to relax in
Room was a little run-down and tired looking (a few cracks in the wall)

Nice quiet area with lots of greenery. Truly a retreat if you are looking for a break from the busy city. Had planned to go out on my 2nd day of stay to do a lil sight seeing, but it was too comfortable to leave ;) Excellent staff who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
Toiletries provided the 3 basics (shampoo, conditioner, body soap). Since it was a stylized as a Retreat, was expecting more like body lotion, face masks - maybe for some self pampering.

the resort is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful with all the greenery and sounds of chirping insects. the facilities are incredible and the room was luxurious with a lovely view. the staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make the stay special.
I think the mirrors in the onsen need to be replaced as some of them have big mould stains on them

The hotel is a short walk away from the main road. Staff patiently waited for me to check-in (I only managed to reach the property by 4 pm by bus and was the last guest in). Design of the property was excellent and so was the Room. Dinner was fantastic (not a surprise in Japan) but relatively pricey. I didn't get the breakfast option - but the coffee bar opens quite early and has decent breads. Good for a short 1-2 days break. The hotel offers bicycle rentals by the way.
The bus system in Hakone is a bit complicated.
No other dining options so either you drive out or eat-in if you don't.
