The Dixie Dean Hotel

The property was nice and located right by queen square and near nice restaurants so it was perfect for my fiancées birthday

The only problem I had with the property is we had a jaccuzi but the hot water was lukewarm and would trickle out we had to literally put kettle water in just to heat it a little bit and it was still barely warm and also getting a shower was impossible if u want it warm it just trickled out unless u had it on freezing cold then the pressure would be amazing but if u wanted warm water it was terrible

breakfast was very good with an excellent selection however could have done with another coffee/tea machine as always a que to get to it. the bar was exceptional service with quality cocktails, and Josh the barman was extremely pleasant and helpful. All the staff were friendly and helpful

the lift was out of order for our 3 day stay which was unfortunately a hinderance

Location was brilliant. Just 5 minute walk to the cavern quarter. Decor was really nice. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice. Staff really nice and friendly.

The property was lovely. But when you look past the amazing decor you can see that it’s needs a bit of a deep clean. Our room 211, had a bit of a fusty odor. Paint coming away from the bathroom ceiling, bodged to silicone sealant around the sink. Stains on the towels. Tooth paste spatter on the walls around the sink. Breakfast on the second day we waited over 30 mins for bacon and sausage and ended up going without as non came out, It was only 9:10am on a Saturday. Used the toilets in the restaurant once and it had a yellow wet floor sign inside to suggest it had just been cleaned, but the floor was filthy with hair and dust.

Very spacious and at the centre of all attraction sites. The jacuzzi was very nice and useful

The room was super massive with 4 beds for only 2 people. It might be great for some people but a bit overwhelming and scary for me to sleep in a massive room with just my husband with wood roof and a big wheel at the top. Even though I booked for a room with double bed but got to the hotel and we were given a massive room. Even though I spoke to the receptionist and she said they will try and change it for me the next day but nothing was done. I was asked to pay for a fee which is for city something upon arrival but this was not stated anywhere whiles I was booking. Clarity on property description can be helpful. The hotel run out of eggs because it was not delivered so had breakfast without egg on the second day
