Staying here is like being on a cruise ship if you are staying in the Rasa wing, with breakfast, afternoon tea - high tea style and then happy hour with free cocktails and copious amounts of food included in our room rate we rarely bothered with additional food which was a great cost saver. If like me you don't like lifts get a room on level 2, we had fabulous views of the incredible gardens and the sea.

Unfortunately erosion has reclaimed much of the beach but we greatly enjoyed the pools surrounded by lush gardens.

Breakfast was excellent, Mr. Vijaya Kumar and Mr. Lingeswaran specifically looked into our vegetarian request enhancing our experience at the Hotel.

No slippers/ robes provided for room. The buffet at Spice market was not as good as we expected.

I like that they offer choices for their breakfast. If you don't mind the crowd the breakfast by the main building offer a wide variety of foods. If you prefer to have breakfast at a place that's rather quiet without the hustle and bustle you go for the restaurant at the rasa sayang branch (Italian restaurant if I am not mistaken) and the food is also buffet just a matter of ordering more once you are finished. Other than that, having the Rasa wing privilege (Other than the breakfast) you have a choice of pool to select from, complimentary soft drinks by the pool and by chairs by the beach. The location of the hotel is located quite a distance from the main attractions of Penang plus the roads leading to the hotel is only a 2 lane road, it gets congested pretty often especially during the holiday (Public and school holiday) so its best to leave the hotel in the morning, go and explore Penang Island and be back at the hotel around 4-5 pm to avoid congestion. There are quite a night life location around the hotel. Overall I had a wonderful time at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang with my missus as Our first honeymoon after getting married(The hotel could also arrange something special, just have to contact the hotel prior your arrival). I will someday return and stay here again. Kudos to the Hotel

Great holiday resort. Beautiful scenery with some ocean view from the hotel room at the garden view wing. Room with a balcony, unfortunately I encountered a Monkey jumping from the big tree coming near the balcony n had a fright! Buffet breakfast n dinner at the Spice Market were excellent. Strongly recommend.

If the noise insulation in the room can be reduced it would be a great improvement. Can hear the next door room clearly especially if guests are hving party at the balcony!

The best part of The Rasa Sayang are the grounds. The pools are nice but the giant rain trees make it all work. The breakfast selection was overwhelming

The beach used to be a pleasant place to walk. It is no longer so but this is not the fault of the hotel.

Overall experience was great. We enjoyed our stay, good foods, staffs are super friendly. Room is old but clean and comfortable

We didn't bring any charger because most of the hotel we stayed before have USB port. Hotel doesn't have too so we have to rent power bank throughout our stay. Would be nice if they upgrade some of the socket in the room.
