Ember Locke Kensington

The common areas at the Ember Locke Kensington are beautiful. The luxurious fabrics and deep colors brought to my mind “Arabian Nights,” or bohemian lives with opium dens. Beautiful spaces. That rich color scheme carried into our room, but living in that space felt a little less luxe, chiefly because the bathroom was too much like reality: no tissues, no lotion, not enough TP, dicey toilet. I loved the convenience of the EVE coffee shop in the lobby, and the restaurant was the prettiest space of all with all its plants and velvet banquets. Food there was reliably delicious and fresh. GREAT service too. Hotel service is essentially non-existent as it’s only provided after a full week’s stay. We had to ask for more TP and the garbage/recycling bins to be emptied at the six day mark. The location is great because it’s walkable, and all the staff are welcoming and friendly.

This hotel was very central and close to the tube and bus lines. The rooms were very clean, the beds were also very comfortable. All of the amenities in the room worked fine, however we didn't use the much (I.E. the cook top, kettle, etc.). The best part was the staff, exceptionally helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Two staff in particular, Patricia and Jessica helped us out when British Airways deemed it not necessary to load our bag. 10/10 would stay again.

Lovely property, avoid LG, dark & light fixtures lots of mosquitoes

The staff were amazingly helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The property was well-maintained and attractive. The reason I booked this hotel was because of the laundry. I wish I had known that the washer/dryer in the room that I upgraded to was one machine. The wash cycle was nearly 3 hours long and the three hour dryer cycle left my clothes damp so I ran a four hour cycle. One load of laundry in 10 hours. That being said, they had a laundry room downstairs (you literally have to walk down two flights of stairs) where there are three washers and dryers that work well. You need to pay 5 GBP for each wash or dry cycle, and you need to pay using your phone. These would’ve been helpful things to know before I went. But I do recommend the hotel and the location.
