Week long getaway to Anchorage for a birthday celebration. Didn’t realize the parking was in the back initially, but once we get our bearings we were very comfortable in the cottage. Everything we could want/need was there. The guide prepared by the host for us helped in our adventures throughout the week. It was quiet and close to the store. We preferred Fred Myers over the Walmart. We enjoyed having a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances, cookware, and extras that made it convenient and cozy! Thanks so much!!

This was a lovely place to stay during our visit. Loved having laundry so we could wash clothes after hiking

It was absolutely great at The Cottage! The owner was very hospitable and even provided muffins and milk for our first breakfast as we arrived after midnight. The amenities were over the top. Having a washer/dryer available allowed us to come home with virtually no laundry to do when we got home. The location was perfect as we could visit downtown easily, find our way around based on the suggestions provided in 'The Cottage Handbook', and easily get to the mountains! I honestly can't think of anything else we needed. I'd most certainly choose this property for future trips to Alaska! Thank you!

This property was perfect for our us. There is every kitchen utensil and pot you could want, the place was very clean and Michele is delightful. We appreciated her willingness to accommodate our dogs and the fenced property made having them there easy. Wholly recommend and would stay again.

Booked original 30th January-13th February
Arrived 31st January (plane delayed Bliss to JBER) left February 1st about 10pm
Arrived one day late, was harassed about parking sideways with a big truck. Just arrived tired from a 24hour trip, couldn’t find the house ( house number snowed in) parked the truck and looked if that was the house.
Got my gear with and my service dog. Was yelled at by the neighbor (just opening the door) to move my truck while putting in the code for the door, I ask her to wait, she continues to yell and I yelled back, still at the front door with the military gear on the front and back and the dog.
I received several phone called and text messages re-parking my truck.
I got there 31st truck parked 7-10am went to work
1600-7am slept
7:am -1600 work
Left on the 1st of February at 11pm
After I was told that the neighbor stayed their for 1 month $$$$ already and I can’t even park my truck so she had to move out.
I already texted her prior that I am moving since I was never welcomed in the first place.
She said she had to think about a refund.
However decided then that the „accommodation was just not satisfactory for me“ and there is no refund.
I had offered to pay for the 30th January-2 February + cleaning fee.
But now I don’t get a refund unless someone else is booking.
And she will explain to the military lawyer her policy. Well I will just add this to the JBER newspaper.

Property was clean and well-appointed. It is very small, but all the doors and windows lock as expected. The surrounding neighborhood is quite a bit run down and there are homeless people absolutely everywhere. I enjoyed my stay, but was thankful I could secure myself in the cottage.

We had a great time staying at this property. Michele gave very clear instructions on how to check in and find our location. The area was perfect, centrally located, and quiet. The facility was well appointed, and we look forward to returning and staying at one of Michele's rentals in the future!
Thank you for being a part of our Alaska trip!

A very nice little duplex. This place was very convenient for our daily travels. The surrounding neighborhood was somewhat rundown but was quiet. Having a washer and dryer was a big plus. Michele was a fabulous hostess! The place was stocked with plenty of paper towels, garbage bags, laundry soap, shampoo, body wash, ect. The kitchen had all the basic essentials including plenty of coffee! Thanks Michelle!!

I had a great time. Michele was amazing. It was the little touches like having a light on in the house because I got in super late that made it so wonderful. The location was perfect. It’s out of the busy city but close enough to walk to downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was very clean and well organized. It had everything we needed to make us feel at home when we were away from home. The neighborhood was quiet. We would stay here again.

Great home away from home
It was lovely staying at the little cottage - very cozy space with everything you need. The hostess was kind and responsive. It was great to have a comfortable place to stay with my dog while looking for a long-term rental.
The only drawback was the tight parking, it was a bit challenging to get my truck in and out of the space, especially with how icy the roads were. It would be a more manageable parking space for a car or small SUV.

The John and Mary Show Review
This property is well suited for a couple and the host had thought of everything. The bed being a full size bed was a bit short and small but comfortable otherwise. The weather was very cold but the temperature was easy to maintain. Everything was very clean and the cottage had a good, clean, smell to it. Communication with Michele was extremely good as she got back to us immediately with info. We had a bit of a problem with flight cancellations and she treated us as guests in her own home. We were very pleased with our stay.

Cute homely cottage
We fell in love with the cottage the moment we entered inside. It is cute homely cottage with everything you need. Even a washer and a dryer. Michele had given us instructions to the location before hand, check in was easy and she was extremely helpful through out the stay.
We had planned to get a rental satellite phone delivered to us at Anchorage and Michele generously gave her address as delivery location.
We will definitely come back to stay at her humble abode the next time we are in Anchorage. :)

Very clean, nice and comfortable house. Have shared walls and yard so if you want your distance or privacy you may not want to stay here. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experience.
