Nestled in Charlotte, this attractive villa for $235 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Off season special November through April. Stay 4 nights and get the 5th night free Newly remodeled 1br/1ba with exotic hardwood floors, porcelain countertops, nickel appliances and hot tub overlooking the lake. Great screen porch for afternoon leisure. . 'Mile View is a cottage built on the shores of the beautiful and private Mountain Island Lake. Much of this lake is parklands, wildlife, sanctuaries and properties restricted from development. This home was built in 1952 and has provided decades of lakefront fun and fishing. Years ago the house was divided into two separate apartments. In 2011 we converted the upstairs into a vacation rental. We provide high speed wireless internet, flat screen TV's, comfortable furnishings but you can get most of that at a Holiday Inn. The unique experience you get with a stay here is that little step back in time. It starts when you pull in to the skinny gravel drive and end up at a plain but well kept mid-century home. There are paneled walls unit a/c and no dishwasher. No subdivision, no pool, no tennis courts. There are only two neighbors. There is a 2 bedroom unit above that is also available for rent. Unless you plan on renting both units you should be planning a quiet stay. Prior guests that have most enjoyed Mile View spend much of their time on the screened porch overlooking the lake. Mile View was built right on the lake's shoreline. You are so close to the boats going by you can see right inside them. At night when they cruise by you could truly join in their conversation. The place is very popular and in our decade of vacation leasing we have hosted nearly 1,000 guests. In that time we have learned that Rosella is not for everyone. We have tried our best to accurately describe the "experience". If that slow paced step back in time is not what you are looking for you may not enjoy Mile View, if on the other hand, you would like to relive the way things used to be or experience it for the first time we don't think you will be disappointed. Excellent check in and very nicely staged by Kim. Close to grocery and shopping but feels like you are away from it all. Very clean with nice amenities. Would have give 5 stars across the board but you should know that this is close to Charlotte airport and there is some noise from aircraft. We would be happy to return again. Bob and Jenni

It really would make for a romantic getaway. The place has plenty of room while still being cozy. The kitchen seemed well stocked in case someone is more inclined to cook, than myself. The refrigerator was pristine and the beautiful, new looking windows a breeze to open. Speaking of which, there are sooooo many windows...perfect for those wanting to let in the fresh air and get a nice cross breeze going, while the A/C put out nicely in the warmer part of the day. The lake view was positively cathartic and the host was easy to contact, as well as eager to accommodate.

This is such a convenient getaway, just outside the outer loop, there is food and shopping nearby and it's a quick pop into the city. The views from the property are gorgeous and it's such a relaxing and serene space. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay. The location is great. Building is a bit rustic and a dated, but had Evelyn you need and comfortable furniture with a great view, lake access abs boat rental on property if desired. It was everything that was advertised and met expectations! I would recommend it to anyone coming for a few days or a week. Rush hour makes it hard to get un and out of the street leading to the house, but other than rush hour it is a snap, so just plan accordingly.

From the moment we stepped thru the door, the ambiance of this lake house shone thru. Very well stocked, clean, comfortable. Beautiful sunsets & sunrise, enjoyed our swims in the lake. Great time, look forward to our next visit.

I was hesitant at first about the duplex style rental but it was great! We made new friends (our upstairs neighbors), enjoyed all the amenities, and had very easy access to the lake. I will definitely be rebooking again for a quick easy getaway. My only charge would be bringing more disposable plates and kitchen stuff since there is not a dishwasher in this unit. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had work to do in the area. We normally stay in a hotel, but decided to give this place a try. Very happy we did! Very clean and comfortable (pictures don’t do it any justice). After a hard days work it was nice to sit on the dock with our feet in the water. Very relaxing!

Last minute booking to explore lake and surrounding area with our jetski. Owner was very quick to respond and answered all of our questions. Everything as described except the shared dock. We were aware of tenants on second floor but didnt realize there would be traffic due to boat rental. Less private with people walking past our windows etc. However, very friendly, honest hosts and otherwise great little place to stay. Clean, and inexpensive. Had everything we needed and comfortable.

This is exactly 20 minutes from Charlotte's downtown, and the property itself is very-nicely renovated, rustic, and has a dock extending into the lake. The property owner is very friendly and reachable. It is truly very relaxing, while still being close to town. I would recommend this to any couples or small families looking for a great visit and relaxing stay.

We stayed for 9 nights and enjoyed the location a lot. The queen bed we slept in was somewhat comfortable. Not as comfortable as my bed at home! Most necessities are provided. The food I cooked stuck to the pan so I bought a new pan n left it there for future renters! The rented boat was fun!

My husband and I were visiting for a friend's wedding in Denver, NC, and the lakehouse couldn't have been more perfect for us! It was comfortable & clean with the best lake amenities - screened porch & deck on the water, hot tub, kayaks to borrow for a morning paddle, outdoor shower & laundry - and it was super convenient to stores and the wedding venues all weekend long. Bob was friendly and responsive when needed, and the house sat just enough off the beaten path to feel like a retreat while still providing access to anything we might have needed. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

This property blew us away. The way Bob handles the little touches are incredible. As the host he made sure we were set up to have a great trip. My wife and I were talking on the ride home about the last few trips we did and how they were okay - this one blew them all out of the water. If you find yourself on the fence I highly encourage you to book the trip and prepare to be amazed. What a blessing and thank you again Bob for letting us stay in your beautiful property. BTW Richard is AWESOME too and getting the pontoon boat made us so many memories.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the lake house, lower level. Great views of the lake and beautiful sunrises in the morning! So relaxing ! You do have to get used to the noise above you ( creaking, floors and dogs running back-and-forth) from the guests who are renting at that time. The shower room needs updating, but it was very functional. Loved the sliding glass door and screen in the living room overlooking the lake, deck, and hot tub area. The place does have an open concept which I love also! The bed was pretty comfortable, so I slept well. 😊 Awesome communication with the host! Loved exploring the Charlotte area, restaurants, shopping, and hiking! So glad I booked this place!

Quiet area on lake. Screened porch a comfortable place to sit, read, relax, do nothing. One bedroom apartment clean and comfortable. Well stocked with necessities as well as little extras in the snack basket. We did not take advantage of the hot tub, kayaks or boat this trip. Will return!!
