Comfortable, awesome stay along Route 1!

Spacious, cute cabin with everything you need! We loved having multiple bedrooms and common space to spread out.

Booking.com didn't show the code to access the key, so I had to call the host. But the host was very kind and helped me get in quickly! :)

Exceptional

Nice house with a beautiful view of the river. Two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom. The minimum necessary set of dishes, clean bedding. There is an air conditioner and batteries. special thanks to the owners for turning on the heating before our arrival and explained in great detail how to get to the place.

It would be nice to add tea and coffee in the kitchen. one of the drawers in the wardrobe is missing a bottom and needs to be repaired.

Secluded cottage just off Rte 1 by Egilsstadir

Very nice and helpful owners, quiet and secluded location by the river, 5min from Egilsstadir and Vok Baths, terasse with a grill outside, just off Rte 1. Cars driving by not causing unnecesary disturbance, since road noise is minimized by trees in front of the cottage. Very comfortable beds. Easy self check-in, towels and bedsheets provided and nicely fresh smell.

With strong wind outside and temperature drop to 4C, it was tricky to use only the airconditioning as a heater. We were a bit cold and had to keep our bedroom doors open for the night to get the heat from kitchen area. Night window shades are in a very poor condition and deserve replacement - it is.a small thing and it drives the evalution down. Also the seating area would deserve a better Light, even if a standing one. At the moment, very poorly lit for reading. But overall a good value for the stopover for 4 people on the way to the North.

Super cute, cozy, affordable cabin that far exceeded our expectations.

The property is simple but still very stylish, and has all of the comforts you would need! Very cozy and comfy.

My only complaint is the walls are extremely thin, so hopefully you are traveling with people you are very comfortable sharing any and all sounds!

Northern Lights!

Middle of nowhere LOL, great location for norther light. Awesome view. Roomy.

One of the room didnt have separate heater and had to kept door open at night to keep it warm.

Good for a quick stay

Close to the city, comfy beds. The house was ready for us and warm.

One bedroom did not have heating, the A/C was doing weird noises at night.

We had a nice stay, the cottage is warm and super cozy. Kitchen's nice (it comes with an induction hob) and there's lots of space.

The master bed is quite short for the average person; my friend, who is 181cm (5,9") had to sleep in one of the single beds of the other room because he couldn't fit comfortably. The sink in the bathroom is rather small, if you compare it to the average size in Europe, but that's no problem at all, just an observation so that you know.

We would come back

The accommodation was absolutely clean and well located. The facilities were great and everything was uncomplicated.

Unfortunately no heating in the small room, now in summer it was already borderline fresh, I would not like to sleep there in winter.

The location was very secluded, the kitchen was well equipped. The house was clean but outdated.

The property was not easy to find, there was no clear instruction how to find it.

Price compare to output ? excellent, totally worth it

Perfect cottage right in front of the Eggilstadir. Very spacious, well equipped kitchen with everything u need, and if u need more, there is BBQ outside free to use! Very cheap compare how big, clean and cozy cabin u get.

For one night on route 1

The cottage is conveniently located just a few meters from route no. 1, close to the river that makes location very picturesque. Easy check-in and check-out.

The cottage is very basic and designed oddly with very small bathroom and spacious sitting room. The kitchenette is equipped but it would be nice to have at least 1 capsule for dish washer, tea/coffee.

Spacious and clean; better value for families than couples

We stayed here for just one night. The location was good to break our journey on the ring road, and to drive across to Borgarfjordur to see the puffins. The cottage was spacious and clean, and the sofa and twin beds were comfortable. We appreciated the extra directions provided by the host in advance :)

The kitchen currently has only hobs and not an oven, which meant we had to change our dinner plans a little. The double bedroom is very small and so one side of the bed is against the wall - for this reason we decided to use the twin room. The decor could benefit from some updating e.g. new curtains in bedrooms.

A pleasant stay

While we did not meet the hosts the communication was good and clear instructions were given. We used the cottage for a one night stay - getting in late afternoon and leaving early and it was perfect for our needs.

A television was present but we could not get any channels to work. Just to know - The cottage runs on its own hot water tank so it is encouraged to take quick showers....which was fine for us.

Nice cottage just on the ring road, double bedroom a bit small

lovely house with 2 bedrooms and a well equiped kitchen. Outside had a nice terrace and we were able to watch the Aurora from there. Location is very good, just on the ring road with easy access.

The double bed is the same size as the room so you have no space around it. You need to climb on the other person to get to the other side of the bed. We opted to sleep in the bigger room with the single beds and let the kids sleep in the smaller room with the double bed.

A very nice and spacious cottage just on the ring road. Large kitchen with a dishwasher, but no oven (it would be nice to change the picture). There is also a terrace with a magnificent view! The owner provided very detailed information how to find the house and a code to get in. All in all, we felt very comfortable and welcome and would be happy to return some day:)

Cottage was in great location just off Route 1 very close to Egilsstadir. It was super clean and comfortable. The view from the porch of the river and the mountains was amazing. The host communication was great: excellent directions and advance message about the lock code for the key.

Superb

Out of the town (good) but not too far; a nice combination. The kitchen was well-equipped and WiFi was very good. Larger than most similar cabin-type accommodation. A good option for couple or couple with two kids. A note at the property indicates that the hot water (electric) might run out after one long shower, but we did not have a problem with this.

The one large bed pretty much fills its bedroom, so we chose to sleep in the twin beds in the other bedroom--but this is not really a complaint, since we were only a couple with no kids.
