We loved this house, opening to a park with beautiful green views in a central location. Quality linens, kitchen appliances, and absolutely clean. Well lit, spacious and cozy. Mary was so nice and incredibly responsive. Lucky anyone who gets to stay here.

Not a house but a home, we felt comfortable and happy to have rented it immediately. Many windows have beautiful views of trees or the park which I loved. The backyard is beautiful. You couldn't ask for a better location. The backyard opens onto mountain lake park and being that close to a dog park, fantastic playground and walking trails was ideal for us. We also loved being able to walk to the farmers market or so many good restaurants. Also loved renting from Mary. She was easy to get a hold of, incredibly helpful and a true pleasure to rent from.

We were a group of seven retirees who just thoroughly enjoyed the roominess and convenient location of this property. Upon arrival the owner, Mary, (who resides on-site) was there to direct us into our side of the building and assist us with parking. We had one vehicle and she graciously moved her car out of the space right in front of the property and allowed us to park there (even though we could have utilized the space in front of her garage a bit further down the street). She also provided a tag to display on our dashboard which allowed us to park as a resident. She also provided a delicious chocolate cake for us from one of the local bakeries and gave us advice on the neighborhood. The house itself is located toward the end of a dead-end street which makes the area very quiet considering it is located in a city. It is very spacious with a huge dining room table and full kitchen. The bedrooms are on the second and third floors and were very comfortable to come back to after a long day of touring. We also used public transportation using the Clipper Card with a 3 day pass. It is only a 2 block walk to get down to the #1 bus line on California St. Which was very convenient. A short walk up the nearby 5th St (another one of Mary's great suggestions) brought us into the upper end of the Presidio from where we took the free PresidiGo Shuttle to bring us down to the waterfront. All in all we could not have asked for a better and more convenient SF experience. Oh yeah, and don't forget to visit the Garin D'Or bakery on Clemets St. for great bread and the Istambul Kitchen on the same street for great Turkish food. Thanks so much Mary for a wonderful experience.

We (four siblings and spouses) had a three day family reunion in San Francisco. Mary is a wonderful host and we recommend her home without reservation. The property is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. San Francisco's attractions are only a short Uber ride from this great location. We couldn't have asked for more.

We spent three nights in Mary's beautiful property while in the city for our daughter's wedding. The dining room table became a gathering place for friends and family during the hours we were not otherwise occupied. We kept forks handy at all times to whittle away at the delicious chocolate cake from the local bakery that awaited us when we arrived.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the master particularly spacious; It alone could sleep a family with two young children. Not to mention the view over the picture perfect back yard and into the park beyond. With restaurants and groceries in easy walking distance, we were able to enjoy several meals at the house including a last day lunch in the back yard on a picture perfect San Francisco day. My only regret was not having the free time to wander in the park, that alone could have occupied a weekend.

My husband and I and our 3 teenage daughters spent 5 days of spring break exploring San Francisco from the home of Mary Gould. The property was clean and well appointed with a beautiful back garden. A delicious chocolate cake and bottle of wine were there to greet us upon our arrival. The property is right next to the Presidio and we went for runs within the park during our stay. The property is within easy walking distance of delicious restaurants (Kitchen Istanbul, Mandalay Restaurant, King of Thai Noodle House & more). We loved Green Apple Books that is also right close by! The house had games and movies which we put to good use. Each daughter had their own room. We took the bus, walked and took taxis and Uber to get around the city, however, we were supplied with parking passes and when my mother in law visited she had no trouble finding parking and using the passes. We rented bikes one day and rode across the Golden Gate bridge and along the water front. It's a hill to ride back up to the property, but definitely doable. Mary called to check in with us during our stay, let us drop our bags early and even mailed back a dress my daughter left on the property. I would definitely recommend this property.

My wife and our four children had a great time in San Francisco and this property served as a terrific home base. Right next to the Presidio and within just a few short blocks of Golden Gate Park, we could not have asked for a better location. We used Uber to get down to the waterfront and downtown areas at a cost of about $12 one way-cheaper than getting bus tickets for everyone and much quicker! If you bring a car, parking could be challenging. We rented a car one day to go to North Bay and it worked great. Enterprise is a short walk away and Hertz is only a couple of blocks past that. Having Mary and her husband close by was nice too. Terrifically nice couple.

House was just as advertised and the owners very easy to work with and excellent at communicating details. Clean, lovely home and very user friendly. Spacious bathrooms on each floor, lovely third floor suite and a terrific dining room with large table and comfortable chairs for gathering. We took advantage of the close proximity to walking paths through the Presidio. The backyard garden is very peaceful.

Great home for large group
Such a comfortable, inviting home in Inner Richmond! Worked great for our group of 9 - two families (one with 3 kids and one with 2). Kitchen is well equipped. Nice backyard, with a gate to the park (Presidio) on a quiet street. Bedrooms were all comfortable. Even came with games that the kids enjoyed during down time. Owners are friendly and responsive. Happy that we chose this home for our six-night stay in SF!

Perfect weekend
Host - the nicest most helpful folks you could ask for. Very thoughtful.
Parking - the only caution for non San Franciscans, it's essentially on street parking that fills up fast. We often had to park 4-5 blocks away. No worries unless you are physically challenged or it"s raining etc.
Location - nice residential cul de sac, quiet, right on the park, easy walk to lots of great restaurants, flat not hilly.
Quiet - windows open at night and peaceful sleep.
Big place - 3 floors and lots of beds and a full well stocked kitchen - perfect for families or group of friends or coworkers, shared meals, games, TV, wifi, nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water.
Garden - need a break to sit in a flower filled garden and read a book in the sun? It's included.

Family vacation in San Francisco
Mary Gould's circa 1904 home was the perfect vacation hideaway for our extended family of six adults and two children. The home is well appointed with all the upgrades you expect which made our four day stay comfortable and pleasant. The home is in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to Mountain Lake Park and the Presidio, a great location for scenic walks through the woods. Public transportation on the Muni is only two blocks away so we never used our rental car during our stay. Mary is a gracious host and we can recommend her home without reservation. It is a five star family accommodation.

A beautiful and comfortable home
This is a beautiful, comfortable and quiet home with a lovely garden. The house is immaculate and includes all the comforts one would hope for. Mary, the owner, is so helpful and welcoming that one feels like they're visiting a friend. I would recommend this home to anyone with no hesitation and hope to return myself for another visit.

Lovely, clean, comfortable San Francisco home.
Lovely three story rental on dead end street that backs up to the Presidio for scenic walks. Beautiful backyard with gardens. Well outfitted kitchen and very comfortable beds.
We had no trouble parking out in front of the house during our stay. Centrally located, and close to grocery store, shops, and Starbucks.
Owners live next store and were very helpful and nice throughout our visit.
Definitely recommend this rental.

Great Vacation!
This was a lovely place to stay. Accommodations were clean and spacious. Well stocked with dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, washer, drier, etc. There was WIFI and a LCD big screen TV. Our hostess lived next door which was fantastic as she helped us with getting settled, places to go, how to park, etc. There was a delicious cake to welcome us as well a bottle a wine. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed very safe.
We originally planned on taking UBER cabs but decided at the last moment to rent a minivan through Hotwire (there were 6 of us). Although we were only 3 miles or so from the wharf area it still takes about 20 to 30 minutes to drive. Definitely would not be walk-able due to the steep hills and the cab fare anywhere would add up fast. Uber cab is a flat $60 from the airport. There is a grocery store 5 blocks away and small sandwich/breakfast shop 2 blocks away.
Parking is a problem anywhere in the city, but there was one place at the house where we had a guaranteed spot. We were there during the World Series and 2 medical conventions so that was a factor. We had a handicapped parking placard from Ohio which was recognized by CA. With the placard you can park at a metered place for 2 hours, although the locals say they do not enforce it very much..
We would highly recommend this home for your stay. Our deposit was refunded in 2 days.

Wonderfully Spacious Home for our Family Trip
We were incredibly lucky enough to stay in this beautiful home. This spacious house served as a comfortable home for our family trip (7 adults, 2 teen boys and a 4mos old). We were welcomed with a scrumptious carrot cake and a California red wine upon our arrival. The kitchen, dining area, bedrooms and TV room offered all of the comforts we could ask for. After a long day of sight seeing and day-tripping, we looked forward to coming back to this home for family style dinners, laughter and relaxation. It was great to be walking distance from the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. In addition, the #1 California St bus line was 2 blks away when we didn't want to drive anywhere, and there were tons of retail and restaurants on Clement St. We highly recommend the Burmese Superstar for Burmese food! Everything worked out so well for our family and we would definitely rent Mary's home again for any future trips to San Francisco. Lastly, i should say that Mary was very helpful and provided lots of useful information and advice before and during our trip. She was always accessible. It was a vacation that we will always remember fondly.

Absolutely the best
Our stay in this home was absolutely wonderful, from the very start--when Mary met us on the street and helped us get in the house and acquainted with the layout--to the last day, when we hated to leave!
Our group was five women and we had plenty of room, no problems with getting ready at the same time--thanks to three bathrooms. We all love to cook and used the kitchen a lot. It was the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a vacation rental. (And when I asked, Mary lent us 5 of her own martini glasses!) The home was impeccably clean, the garden and back yard were beautiful--and we were just steps from the Presidio, which has some wonderful hiking trails and the great not-to-be-missed Disney Museum. The neighborhood was not one I was familiar with, but it was great for walking around and had lots of interesting shops and restaurants. The area is a little far from the hustle of downtown, but that's the best part! Transportation was solved by using Uber Car--a great service. We parked our car on arrival and never used it again!
I'll be back to this beautiful Presidio home the next time we go up to San Francisco--highly recommend it!

Much larger and gorgeous than we expected.
This is the most beautiful property and Mary and her husband could not have been nicer. We stayed here with our family for our sons college graduation and it was perfect with lots of space and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. the gardens are beautiful and there is easy access to the Presidio for walking and exercise.
We will definitely stay here again when visiting our son in San Francisco.
