This wonderful 3 bedroom, 3 bath beach cottage is located in the beautiful Cottage Retreat Community of Destin Florida. We invite you and your family to stay in our wonderful cottage for a week in paradise! If you like sugar-white sand, emerald waters and swaying palms, you will love this community. The cottages in Cottage Retreat are quaint reminders of days gone by with front porches, and bright decorative colors, with the entire community built on a cul-de-sac. Our cottage comes equipped with all of the comforts of home and possibly a few more! This home has 3 bedrooms, beautifully furnished and all the comforts of home. This home features a wrap-around deck on the first floor, and the second floor has a balcony for enjoying fresh evening breezes. The beach walkover is a short 2 minute stroll to the sugar white sand and emerald waters of the Gulf. Our home is in a perfect location. You will want to return year after year! What to do in Destin besides enjoy our beaches!: Should you wish to explore what the local area has to offer, you'll find an abundance of choices. Sidewalks line scenic 98 for walking, running or bike riding. We are a short 2 mile drive to the Silver Sands mall to the West, or luxury shopping at Destin Commons to the East. Kenny D's, The Crab Trap, and Pompano Joe's are all within walking distance to Cayenne Cottage. We encourage you to leave menurs of your favorite restaurants when you come. For evening entertainment, Destin is known for some wonderfully upscale eateries, as well as your regular fare. Friendly night life and nearby state of the art movie theater. Do you like to shop?: The Silver Sands Outlet Mall is a vacation in it’s own right for shoppers you will have access to over 100 stores, including, Polo Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, Lenox, Nike and Reebok - just to name a few. When you need to pause for nourishment choose from Panera Bread, Cheeseburger in Paradise or Carrabba's Italian Grill. More great shopping can be found at the Destin Commons outdoor mall. My husband and I stayed here with our Lab, my brother, and his spouse. We are all over 50 peeps. The fact this house has 2 master bedrooms was awesome for our stay! One is on the 1st floor and the other upstairs. The house is roomy and has great amenities. We found everything to be in good working order. The kitchen was well stocked, but the pots and pans are pretty worn. I worry with nonstick surfaces when they are scratched up. There was plenty of sitting and dining room for us. The only thing that was a bit difficult in staying here was the door code. In the past, we only had 4 digits to remember. This was a 7 digit code to remember. It was certainly not a deal breaker, by any stretch of the imagination. We called upon the manager, Kathy to help us troubleshoot operating the air fryer oven. Altho, she was not able to figure it out for us, she was very responsive and kind in the process. The best part of our stay for me is that every other Southern VRBO we have stayed in, we have encountered roaches!! Now I know it is expected in the South, but for us Northerners, it is unnerving to see them in the house. We had absolutely no roaches seen in the house! So lovely!! Thank you to Kastle Keepers for a successful stay!

This was our second stay at Beach Retreat. Very nice gated area w/ a nice pool and a private beach. A couple of small issues arose and were quickly addressed by Kathy. We would gladly stay here again.

Loved the property and location! Super easy to get to beach and pool. The Mermaid Cottage was so perfect! Accommodations for our 9 family members were roomy yet private. The home was well-equipped and beautifully decorated! We’ll return again!

This was a great property for a family spring break getaway. The beach was easy access and never crowded. The walking path is steps away and provides access to the strip.

This standalone home is in a small, quiet development. That said, it just a couple of minutes from the beach. It is also steps from Gulf Shore Drive which allows for easy walking, riding, carting or driving to multiple restaurants. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking as desired. The upper level has a wraparound balcony which is a comfortable spot to find sun, shade and/or breezes…great for reading or napping! Each of the three bedrooms has its own bathroom.

Quiet community. Convenient location to beach. Enjoyed the included beach set up. Well equipped kitchen. Other than a few minor plumbing issues, everything was great. Totally recommend .

This place is probably the nicest place we have ever rented. Short walk to the beach. We walked to eat every night, located in between Pompano Joe's and Captain Daves. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking easy also. We had a hiccup on checking in but Kathleen was very easy to work with and responded promptly everytime we had a question. Our kids loved the pool and the convience of the location to the house. Will stay here again.

First of all the communication from the property manager/owner is the best I have ever experienced from planning our trip through departure! The mermaid cottage exceeded our expectations! It is clean, location is perfect to the pool and the beach! Close walking distance to Kenny Ds restaurant that we enjoyed twice! Our daughter got engaged during our vacation and we just had a wonderful time celebrating the whole week and made wonderful memories and hope to return in the future!

We loved our time at the Mermaid Cottage. The house was located within a 3 minute walk to the beach and had a private entrance that lead you to chairs and umbrellas setup and ready to use. The house was super clean and had every amenity we needed. The wrap around porch on the top floor was amazing to sit out on and relax. It is completely enclosed so the dogs could enjoy too! There are 4 restaurants within a quick walk and all were delicious. We are looking forward to our return stay!

Rental was amazing. Just as described and the proximity to beach was perfect. The house had plenty of space and bathrooms. Will definitely stay here again. I would recommend this unit to anyone traveling with children the distance to the beach is a short walk making the trip enjoyable and stress free.

We enjoyed how close to the beach the cottage is. We loved the fact that the cottage has all the accommodations that you would use at home. Beautiful home, spacious rooms. We will be back again for another wonderful stay.

This is a wonderful house for a vacation! We could not believe the perfect location and proximity to the beach - it was literally a 2 minute walk across the street! The beach chairs and umbrella were a great touch. The house was clean and well stocked with kitchen items you would need. We had one issue with the house and Kathy responded and sent someone over immediately to fix it. We will be back!

This was a great, peaceful safe house and property. Just a 3 minute walk across the street to the beach. Hot tub and pool were amazing. It was well kept up and very easy to relax there. The property manager was immediately available by phone for 2 questions we had. Great place!!
