Perfect getaway if you want to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle

The surrounding was beautiful. The chalets were well equipped and beautifully decorated

ABSOLUTELY EXCEPTIONAL!

Everything! Exceptional hosts - Ruhan, Charmaine, Garth, Jane are just amazing. Lake Naverone is an exceptional place and by far our favourite place to stay in South Africa. Don't let the 3* fool you, this is a 6* venue, 7* people and experience and deserving of a booking.com award every, single year. Well done to the owners on selecting such an incredible team, we cannot wait to go back. Hiking, fishing, river picnics and walks. Horse riding, tubeing, natural pool swims, views galore and endless exploring - nature at its best! Be warned there are no TVs and little wifi/internet and for excellent reason... spend quality time with your loved ones and leave technology alone. This place deserves all of your attention!

Would love a built in braai at more cottages and rain cover. Braaing in the rain was a total schlep and it rains alot so prepare for this, also check on how the ovens work before needing to use it because the braai gets washed out, there are a few tricks to them 😉

Idyllic stay in the mountains

Lake Naverone has the perfect setting. Sitting on the veranda looking at the lake and mountains can only destress one. After initially suffering from withdrawal symptoms of no tv and Wi-Fi, we soon enjoyed playing board games, walking and canoeing.. The walks on the property were well marked out

Very good

The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the manager Rohan. The rooms were clean, neat and very cosy. All rooms had heater's which were needed for the cold night's. There were gas stove and showers which were perfect during load shedding. Really good value for money. I recommend this place and will definitely visit again.

There is no wifi or reception which is an absolute must in any resort.

When you want to unwind and have a quality time then Lake Naverone is a place to be..

That place is so alive and pleasant.. it exceeded my expectations.

We loved spending time away with our elderly parents and they absolutely loved it.

The accommodation over the lake was mesmerising, especially the sunsets. Even though there were power cuts (frequently), the place had gas stove and gas hot wet systems which was perfect. The walks we amazing.

Lack of trout being caught 😜. The road was not great but that is out of their control.

Must stay here! Location unbeatable!

Spectacular Location and welcoming staff. The hot water bottles were a great touch! The cottage was secluded and had a private dam. We would love to have stayed longer.

Value

Unbelievable value. A whole country house for less than the average hotel room. I also had a huge garden with a lake and horses to myself. Amazing. Peaceful.

Scenery was lovely

Shower head in the main bedroom needs attention. Water not regulating. Bottom dam has not been stocked with fish as nobody booked in there didn't catch anything.

Just another wonderful stay

The views from Coot Cottage and the whole surrounding area are magnificent. We have stayed here previously and always enjoy the peace and tranquility. It is without doubt one of our most favourite places in the world

A picture perfect family holiday for families that enjoy the outdoors.

We had the most incredible family holiday at Lake Naverone. Despite the gloomy, wet weather, we managed to make the most of our time there. Our stay at number 5 Heron cottage was perfect for our family needs. The staff and management were were warm and welcoming. What a beautiful destination. We will most definitely be back soon!

load shedding 3 x a day but that is something beyond anyone’s control.

A relaxed and scenic way to spend a weekend.

It was pet friendly . Our little pup had a wonderful time running around the fenced yard and going for walks . The manager was amazing and very accommodating. The views are breath taking . We planning our next trip .

I missed my TV and cell reception wasn't great at times .

A very comfortable and relaxing few days away

The cottage was roomy, private and comfortable. There were two bathrooms separate to bedrooms. It was great to have a boat at the cottage - had the weather been better we would have used it more. The uncovered part of the patio was large and would have had more use had the weather been better. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The property was large with lots of area to walk.

The verandah was not useable when it rained, which was every afternoon/evening when it would have received the most use. The soap was poor quality and towels were thin and could do with a refresh. When outside the cottage there was the occasional smell of the septic tank. Very poor cell reception, but understood this is not the responsibility of the property. WiFi was available at reception.

Hidden gem

The peaceful quiet environment. Loved the view , the paddle ride on the lake , just breathtaking.

It would be lovely to have clear signage for the 3 pool nature hike and clear signage for the San rock art . We did the hike as a family but found the map not easy to read, signage would be great .

Great family get away!!!

I can't wait to return.....repeatedly. Awesome hikes 🚶‍♂️ Beautiful views and waterfalls Loved the river and tubing Adore the 3 pools Outstanding horse ride!!! Relaxing lake to swim or row Fires at night and quality family time I will be back over and over.. Thank you to ALL the staff

Super unwind at Lake Naverone

Beautiful views and scenery. cosy, well maintained cottage. Lake Naverone is a truly wonderful retreat to get away for a few days and re charge the soul. Cottages are well spaced and neighbour's unobtrusive. Horses in excellent condition.
