I had the privilege of staying at Hotel Djupavik, and it truly ranks among the most exceptional places I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The breakfast was delightful, the warm welcome from the staff was even better, and the tour of the nearby fish oil factory was simply awe-inspiring. The atmosphere here makes you feel like a cherished friend rather than a mere guest. Absolutely fantastic!
A babbling creek runs beside the room, which I absolutely adore because it enhances my sleep quality. However, it might not be to everyone's liking, so it's worth taking this into account before booking.

the owner very nice. structure nestled at the end of an Icelandic fjord. The exterior is very charming, with a disused herring factory and a shipwreck adorning the context.
breakfast? improvable. I was surprised when asking for a slice of cake, this was paid for. for the rest, everything is ok

Good located
There is mold in the house, I’m reacting to it. The loudness was too much from the room besides and from the restaurant

Very authentic small village, with nice people. If I come to the westfjords again, I definitely would stay here. Very good restaurant, and beautyful landscape.

Eva, one of the owners since 1985 personally greeted us and told us the hotel’s history. The rest of her family joined us for a long swapping of life stories!!! BEST place we’ve been in Iceland. It is well worth the 44 km gravel road drive!!!

This was the best place Iv ever stayed. The views were immaculate. The staff was very friendly and the food amazing. I slept with my door open bc I had views of the fjords from my bed.
Wish I saw a whale.

Sea view from the hotel which is situated by a waterfall that we can hear from the rooms. Nice atmosphere, especially in the common room where breakfast buffet was available.

Staying in Djúpavik Hotel was a true adventure. Hotel manager invited us for a guided trip in a historical herring factory. Later he cooked a delicious lunch for us. All staff members were very nice. Hotel has an interesting iterior what creates a uniquely charming and cosy atmosphere. Except for that it's surrounded by a beautiful landscape.

The common area in the old dorm is so cozy. The area itself is remote and gorgeous.
Out radiator wasn’t working - but they provided an electric one so we were still toasty!

Excellent location. Charming building & restaurant. Very friendly staff. The factory tour with Magnus, the manager, was a true highlight of our time in the Westfjords (and that is saying something!)
nothing!

Adorable place with incredibly friendly staff. Food was delicious, both for dinner and breakfast (even for vegetarians). Atmosphere was very comfy. Location was breathtaking. A lovely stay.
We could have used more mental preparation for the drive to get there (it was totally fine, just a bit more intense than what we were naively expecting). Overall, it was fabulous and well worth improving our gravel road driving skills!

Staff were wonderful and took care of all our needs.
Our room was small but given the historical age, small rooms are part of the setting.

The small waterfall next to the room was amazing
we didn’t know that the room will have shared bathroom, and the room couldn’t be locked

Accommodation and facilities a bit basic.

Very cozy, homely atmosphere with wooden floors and beams, and old cupboards stuffed with books and games to play. The room was small but so charming and breathing the atmosphere of what the hotel once was. Dinner was superb, the fish can't be fresher and it was prepared excellently.
I can't think of anything. Please keep everything as it is. It's just perfect. Would be nice if the staff speaks Icelandic, but even though they didn't they were very friendly and helpful.

The room sizes were, to us, part of the charm of the hotel. Ours was cozy with an amazing view. The men's and women's bathrooms were across the hall. We hadn't shared a bathroom at a hotel since we were campers as kids, but it worked pretty well.

Beautiful location. The hotel is a special one... Small, noisy rooms, but full of history. (tip: visit the factory nearby!)
restaurant was ok, Breakfast was minimal, but ok.
Breakfast was minimal. Shower and toilets are shared.

Actually a cool hotel in a special place.
But unfortunately we were disappointed. We arrived at the hotel late (9.45pm) and asked for a bite to eat. We couldn't because the kitchen was already closed. We then had another beer in the restaurant. At 10.05 p.m. the cook came out of the kitchen and brought a large bowl of chips to a table with Icelanders.

It is historic and a great location for this area.
Property has shared bathrooms, which was okay. The stairs are also historic so you need to be on for table to that.

location was stunning, and there’s a tour available (at additional cost) where you can learn about the history of the area. it was excellent.
difficult to access upper floor for people with limited mobility (no proper handrail on inside stairs).
