Did not find it

I did not find the Hostel. I went twice times around the area without any road signs with helpful local people at least without any success. Others told me that it moved to another place...Later before darkness I broke up and looked for another Hotel...

Nkatha stayed only one day because she did not feel comfortable.

I am not the one who travelled. It was a friend called Mercy Nkatha. She complained that the rooms did not have T.V. She was required to cook for herself. There was no bathing shoes.

Nkatha complained about food. I am not the one who travelled. I booked the hotel for her.

i would repeat again

has swimming pool and the rooms are clean and confortable. the breakfast is good

the shower doesn’t work the first day. it didn’t have enough hot water.

very nice place to stay with perfect Organisation

it is a colourful, well organized and reliable hostel, the rooms were pretty and clean, breakfast smoothie was delicious. very much did we like the water filter of the tab water, as one example for trying to make it sustainable.

It's just one little thing but the dinner which was very good was not enough for all the guests who ordered to have dinner

Not worth the price

The hotel is about 30 walk away from downtown. The pool was great and the hotel felt very save. The staff also helped us to book a Safari which was easy to arrange. It was also nice to have the roof area to enjoy a beer. Right across the street is a restaurant/bar where you can buy dinner.

Breakfast was terrible, its maybe ok if you like vegetables for breakfast, but I did not enjoyed it and would have preferred a European breakfast (with additional Tanzanian options) there was also not a lot food and we left feeling hungry. The first room we had, had also a really hard bed (worst bed in 3 weeks of travel) the room we got after the Safari had a much better mattress. Shame the standard isn't the same. In comparison to other hotels, the price of the room is also too high, as a lot of things were broken and not repaired. Would not stay in the hotel again.

I didn’t arrive until 7pm and left at 5am for safari so it was a short stay. The place is clean. There is a nice rooftop bar

They offered a reasonably priced dinner option but it was pretty tasteless.

Amazing

Amazing place, perfect to relax, enjoy the pool, reed a book and the común areas are really comfortable. It has a good place to cook and the rooftop bar is also good, nice place and good prices, I strongly recommended it. I spent there almost 2 weeks the staff is really friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is amazing, they have free drinking water in the kitchen. And the room was perfect, clean, has the mosquitos net and a nice shower with hot water.

Nice room and very clean, nice rooftop bar. Take into account that is a hostel not a hotel, so nobody cleans your room and we were three 3 nights. Very close to Arusha airport

Breakfast is poor, the staff was difficult to reach in our case. He was more friendly with young people.Wi-Fi only works in common area not in our bedrooms on the second floor. Noisy neighbourhood

Great stay in Arusha

Nice clean rooms, nice pool area and rooftop! Good local food for breakfast and dinner (don't know why people complain on here, it was great!) Service was good and the people working there helped us arrange what we needed.

Sometimes portions for dinner were a bit on the small side.

Overpriced for what it is

Clean bedrooms, secure, lots of space, nice rooftop. Drinking water provided for free

Staff were absent and hard to find so it was difficult to get information about where to go and how to get there etc. The hostel is secured behind a big gate but this was often unmanned so we couldn’t get in. Neither could any tour guides that tried to pick us up. There is a charge for airport transfer but this wasn’t explained when booking. There’s not much available in local area as it is based out of town

Exceptional

Big stylish hostel with super nice terrace and swimming pool. My room was upgraded for free - real luxury! Very good vibe, party on the rooftop terrace, when I arrived. Many volunteers with really interesting projects. Tizia, the owner, is incredible! She helped me with organizing my trip to Lake Natron and a safari, answered all my emails! Suricata safari was excellent! Gloria, the manager, was very helpful also! Would come back any time. Thank you Tizia!

Very nice hostel

Very nice pool and pool area. Super cosy rooftop bar and relaxation area. Clean large rooms. Hot shower. Friendly and helpful correspondence with frontdesk. Dennis from staff is the one to go to if any issues.

Noisy next door factory spoils the pool area ambience.

Feels like home

The staff is absolutely amazing. They will help you with everything. Breakfast is great and for a small price, you can get a really nice home-cooked dinner. The rooms are also very nice and clean. A special mention to the cozy rooftop bar. This place is amazing. For this price, I don’t think you can find a better hostel! It really felt like a home to us.

Maybe just that the wifi is pretty bad in some rooms.

Nyumbani Hostel was a wonderful experience

I had a wonderful stay at Nyumbani Hostel, staff were helpful, kind, and did their best to make me feel at home. The rooms are clean, and the hostel's breakfast was delicious! not to mention the freshly made fruit juice. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooftop bar where I had the chance to meet some other guests.

Amazing!!

Was very clean, the stuff very kind and helpful, the bedrooms are very big and the beds confortable, beautiful views and perfect location. For the price could not be better!!

Pancakes were real tasty, we loved the fruit too. As soon as you get to know the time of either dinner or breakfast, go at that time, otherwise you might miss out on food!

It was real noisy due to the power generator.

bell in the front door that you can hear in the room dogs barking in the night strangers ringing the bell cold and average breakfast Improvement- maybe to hire someone working overnight to take care of the strangers and dogs

Excellent place when traveling solo

I had a good time at Nyumbani, especially in connection with the friendliness of the staff and owner here. The rooftop was really great for hanging out, watching a sunset with a glass in your hand, and meeting other people. The ambiance was very personal and familial, they were very supportive in recommending things to do and to help with things I needed.

This hostel is excellent. Its very clean, the garden and various plants are tended well. The staff are very friendly and there is a security guard on duty to open the gate at night. Totally recommended.

Really wonderful experience! Staff was great. Breakfast and dinner included is pretty awesome. The pool in the back patio is clean and really nice. Staff was also super cool about setting up a safari for us. Oh, and while we were on the rooftop bar hanging out in the morning, a group of monkeys came by! What more could you ask for!

Cosy and superfriendly place to stay!

The atmosphere at Nyumbani hostel was great. Delicious breakfast and dinner was also included. Trips and safari were organized by the hostel team! Perfect!!! We enjoyed our stay very much!
