Nice place and great, friendly host. Super breakfast, feel like private chef for our staying.
Sunset, cows, rabbits make Dha Urlar's backyard impressive.

Wonderful breakfast. Incredible hosts. Room was very comfortable.
Some guests were obtrusive, but it did not depreciate our stay.

Hosts Jim and Caroline are wonderful. We felt so warmly welcomed to Dha Urlar and Islay from the moment we arrived. Jim has a wealth of knowledge about Islay and loves to share his knowledge. Jim’s taxi service was terrific for the day we had distillery tours scheduled. The house and our room were very comfortable. The location is a mile from Bowmore, allowing us to have a nice walk after dinner. We loved our time at this property.

This is an exceptional property! Located next door to the owner’s home - Caroline and Jim are available if you need info etc but otherwise you feel you’re in your own pad 😃 great bedroom and a very nice guest lounge, complete with fridge for your evening tipple. Breakfast is cooked to your own specification and served up in the lovely kitchen /dining room area. There’s a seating area outside to contemplate the stunning views. Just a magical place - also Caroline and Jim are lovely, felt so at home 😀

Caroline and Jim were wonderful hosts - friendly, welcoming, and had helpful recommendations and tips for our visit to Islay. In fact, they tipped us off on the morning of our departure that our ferry departure port had changed! Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a sizeable ensuite bathroom. Comfortable guests' lounge as well. Jim's breakfast was superb, and the stories and overall hospitality even better. It is located just outside Bowmore, which means it was nice and quiet at night with views across the countryside. Free parking right outside the front door.
It's not a dislike, but just to note that the b&b is outside the town of Bowmore down a single-lane road so if you are driving be careful and aware (or it's a 25 minute walk into town). We are glad we brought eye masks as the curtains are not black-out, and in the summer the sun rises quite early!

We loved this property and Caroline & Jim are very welcoming hosts who live next door. Their breakfasts are so great with everything cooked to order. This property has its own guest lounge which is very relaxing and there’s a guest fridge for storing your food too. Endless hot water for your shower. Bed extremely comfortable.
Some lining on the drapes would give guests a chance to sleep past sunrise and provide more warmth in the colder months.

An excellent experience. Hosts Jim and Caroline were superb and we were made to feel very welcome, as well as gaining some very helpful insight into what to do (and not do!). Breakfast was delicious and the accommodation top-notch. We hope to return again soon.

Dha Urlar is set just a minute drive from the cute town of Bowmore (20 minutes drive from port Ellen/ laphroig, lagavulin, and ardbeg). The property overlooks the ocean and the surrounding land is picturesque. Jim was a great hosts and made a great Scottish breakfast for us in the morning (a must have if you plan on tasting some whisky). The room was lovely and cozy, the beds were comfortable and the hosts made us feel at home. I cannot recommend dha urlar enough, if you are planning to stay in Islay this is the place to do it!

The B&B annexe is bright, modern and spacious. The rooms likewise. The owners cook and serve breakfast themselves, and are so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent, and my wife's gluten intolerance was well catered for. The owners gave us lots of info about the island and recommended places to visit. This is a great place to stay.
Theres nothing not to like about this place!

Gorgeous location with wonderful warm hospitality from hosts, Jim & Caroline. Fabulous breakfasts cooked to order, with plenty choices and lovely selection of fresh fruits and whisky marmalade. It was fantastic to have access to a comfortable lounge with a fridge. Our very friendly hosts were most helpful with informative, ( also cheery) briefings on the local area and of course it was great to have easy access to Jim’s taxi service. We certainly hope to return for another relaxing relaxing break.

The owners of the place - Jim and Caroline - went out of their way to make us feel welcome and get the most out of our holidays, with Jim offering us a private "Islay geography class" on the first day to help us decide which places to visit. Very clean accommodation, delicious breakfast, excellent Covid precautions that made us feel safe.

We spent three nights at Jim & Caroline’s Dha Urlar in late September. Everything about the guesthouse was lovely. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and there was a great choice at breakfast. Jim and Caroline were so friendly and keen to give lots of tips and advice about where to visit, and the island is stunning. We loved our short stay and really hope to be able to return soon - and stay longer.
There was nothing to dislike about the Dha Urlar.
