Great place to stay. Did not disappoint. Delicious breakfast in a historic dining room.

Food was lovely especially the breakfast. Staff were very helpful and of course, we loved walking around the grounds.
Shower was a bit difficult to use in our room, but it's a very small issue. My mom did have an issue with turning it off while I was out walking, but the staff was fantastic and quickly came to help her. She was so impressed and happy that they resolved the issue.

Breakfast was excellent as was the breakfast staff. Pro shop was GREAT, friendly and loaded with information
All was great except the fact that there was not air conditioning in the room and we had to drag luggage over the rocks to get to the carriage house units. All else was excellent including food.

Location and setting superb.
Stayed in a carriage lodge. Bathroom not great, need to keep blind pulled down or people can see through window. No frosted glass on windows. Shower leaked badly from shower door onto floor. Must have been like it for a while as the wooden cabinet beneath sink had rotted at the bottom. Toilet roll holder wobbly on wall. Stone walls black around window. The main room was nice but wouldn't say it's luxurious, as the price would suggest.

staying in a castle was a wonderful experience.
Needs A/C. Rooms were stuffy even with fans. Found a spider in our bed

The breakfast was incredible! Such a beautiful setting and so delicious. The whole experience was wonderful and we wish we had stayed longer.
The spa was under construction. This couldn't be helped, but we would have liked to have used the facilities.

The Castle breakfast and service was impeccable. The bar service and quality was top notch. The clubhouse food was ok.
The service from clubhouse waitress was poor. She disappeared a lot and it was hard to get our water refilled. The host, on the other hand, was phenomenal and accommodating..so friendly and happy. We really liked him a lot.

The Grounds were fantastic. Its a very beautiful castle. Staff are very nice and friendly.
I told the staff that It was my Fiances birthday and they left a lovely card and chocolates in the room. Later that evening they suprised here with a lovely desert at dinner time, very kind gesture.
A few cabinets in the room were a bit dusy in the inside and hard to open. (A small bit outdated).
When we arrived in the room also the sink was not particularly clean.
Although these are small problems in our eyes overall its worth the stay.

The staff was Outstanding and more than accommodating. Ian was very gracious in accommodating our request and adjusting to our needs. Jamie, Kelly and Taylor made our stay fun and memorable. Cain "trainee" and John the manager in the Clubhouse restaurants both made our dining experiences for lunch and dinners Very memorable and personal.
It was very nice that they provided complimentary umbrellas. The grounds were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We Loved the stories of the castle and all of the lore that everyone told us when we asked. The 2 sisters, (1 tall), in the 1180 restaurant made our breakfast experience special every day... Thank you for the Monkey. :)
The Carriage room we stayed in was Plesant enough, however we would like to offer a few suggestions for future guests.
- Coat hooks as you walk in the door, given the Liquid Sunshine of Ireland, it would be nice to be able to hang your wet coats when you come in, we found ourselves laying our coats on the floor as we walked in.
- Key ring holders for room key and car key near the front door
- universal UK plugs throughout the room and BATHROOM. There were at least 3 different types of plugs and only "shaver" plugs in the bathroom, not easy for women doing their hair.
- There was Nowhere to set anything in the bathroom, shaving kit, makeup, hygiene essentials, etc. as the toilet tank was sloped so everything slid off, the toilet seat was not connected on one side and slid when you sat on it. There were no hooks in the bathroom for towels or robes.

Kilkea Castle is a fantastic place to stay, the staff were particularly helpful, and their attention to detail was excellent. Facilities are excellent too. It was myself and my wife's 25th wedding anniversary and they made it a special stay.
I didnt have any issues with my stay.

Great staff, wonderful breakfast, tranquil location. Welcome was very good with mulled wine on arrival. It was superb for a quick break . Had dinner at the golf club and the staff there too were very accommodating.
Piped music from the restaurant was audible from the bedrooms one floor up.

The property was incredibly beautiful and it felt incredible driving up onto the grounds and entering the castle. The staffing at the front desk was super helpful and got us breakfast early since we had a flight to catch the next morning. Really nice bathrooms and rooms inside of where we were staying and it felt very secluded which was great as well. My wife and I would like to fly back and visit again in April.
The steak at the restaurant was just okay and the female server seemed extremely disinterested in helping us in any way. We don’t complain and write reviews but her attitude was the exact opposite of the front desk. We weren’t sure if it was because we got sat at 8:30 pm when it closed at 9:00 pm but we tried to eat at 8:00 pm but the restaurant pushed our reservation back.
