Close to town
Very old amenities, no fridge to keep my water for the travel home cold

The single rooms were very basic, but were clean & confortable. And as expected with regard to the pricing. The bathrooms & toilet were very clean.
The Art Deco decor was beautiful & love that the heritage of this hotel has been retained!
The guest fridge was not working, but was getting fixed the next day. I was travelling with both refrigerated & frozen goods & the staff were accomodating with my needs in another fridge & freezer. Unfortunately the fridge they used was also not working, but the freezer was ok.

It's located really close to the water/beach.
Windows in the room 12A are directed to the bar / porch, so you do not get any view. But that's not the worst. The worst is that windows offer no noise isolation so it's extremely loud in the room from the bar which makes it impossible to sleep until the bar closes and visitors stop screaming and drinking alcohol. Stuff should also inform guests that the room is very loud due to all the ventilation/airco machines located right over the bar, in front of the windows of the room.
I definitely do not recommend staying in this hotel or at least in room 12A.

Cheap in the centre of town. Everything was provided. Meals in the pub were great. Exceptional staff. Couldn't believe we were staying in the oldest hotel. The pictures on the walls are a snippet of the struggle. Chris was outstanding. Go there now before the renovations. Port Macquarie is a beautiful place with a magnificent climate and wonderful staff.
No air-conditioning, but that will be provided in the near future. Fans were enough for sleeping at 24 degrees.

The location was great, we enjoyed walking around near the water and watching the sun set. The all you can eat place a few doors down was great value for money with friendly stuff and is a fantastic place to stop for a meal.
there was no air conditioner, the room was as hot as hell with just a ceiling fan that was off balance and clicked all night. the bed was really bad, the room smelt of smoke and there was no way we could sleep with the noise of the fan and the heat.

Location only.
Way too expensive for a basic pub room with communal toilet and tea making / TV facilities.

Limited number of parking spots.
Old dusty rooms with no window.

it was a great location with parking in the centre of town. The bar downstairs was nice.
In the morning when using the bathroom, my family member stood in excrement and was very upset. Perhaps more checks need to be done on the toilets.

The location was very central to the beach and to the centre of town. A lovely historic building.
We tried to confirm our arrival and details for our stay via phone and email on the day we travelled and had absolutely no response. There was a blown bulb in the bathroom, so no light there at all. Also no hair dryer available for use. Though a nice old building it was in shabby condition as far as the accomodation went, with peeling paint and beaten up furniture. The bed was uncomfortable.
It was almost impossible to sleep with the loud noise from downstairs. The most irritating thing after all of the above, was that I was charged twice for the room - a staff error which then took a long time to rectify.

we were only there for eight hours the beds were comfortable
underneath as was the pub it was a Friday night so a little bit of a music/night club. CALL not exactly what you want when you want a good night sleep

Great location, right in town. Rooms are basic but the bed was quite comfortable.
The hotel needs renovating, especially considering where it’s located. The decor is very dated. A freshen up would work wonders.

The location is great, on side parking is great convenient
The room and hallway stink as hell, also cigarette smell coming in at night, hot water wasn't hot at night and water pressure was weak in our room (originally it says Kitchen on the door), water pressure in another room where my family stayed was normal but the water also cold, colder than our room actually. I went to the shared bathroom to check water pressure and temperature, it was normal. So it was a complete waste of money to pay extra to have our own private bathroom when it's so bad for shower, I felt like I was gonna catch a cold while taking a barely warm shower (it's so cold at night).
Our room ceiling is mould and the paint is peeling, carpet stink and stained. We didn't complain to the manager as those problems are not their fault, it's not something the cleaner could fix, the owner need a big renovation done.

Location. The reception staff were very good.
Comfortable beds.
Could do with an a bit of a renovation.
No kettle in the room or glasses.
