Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin is a newly built (2019) chalet on Deer Water Lake in the Cliffview Resort area of Red River Gorge, Kentucky and is located minutes from Natural Bridge State Park, Zipline office, and some of the best hiking trails and rock-climbing routes in the region. This stunning 3-story A-frame has 4 bedrooms: 2 master suites each with a king-size bed and private bathroom; and 2 upstairs bedrooms containing 3 queen-size beds and 2 full-size beds (one lofted). This spacious cabin sleeps 14 and totals 3 full and 2 half baths, making it the perfect accommodation for hosting wedding parties, family reunions, or week-end getaways with friends. Indoor amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender and all cooking utensils. To add to your convenience, this modern cabin also has high speed internet, a USB charging station, two ROKU televisions with live streaming channels (YouTubeTV), a stone gas fireplace, a game room with air hockey table, and washer & dryer. Outdoor amenities include a large deck with magnificent views of the nearby lake, a metal-roofed wrap-around porch, gas grill, 6-person hot tub, and a large fire pit. Cornhole boards are also available for use. The 5-acre Deer Water Lake sits 75 yards down the hill from the cabin and is walkable (somewhat steep) or easily drivable. There guests can swim, fish, float or just relax at water’s edge from our spacious private dock. Or bring your canoe, kayak or paddleboard for non-motorized boating. Life vests are not provided so please bring your own. Easy driving access to cabin with flat roads. Plenty of parking. Smoking is not permitted inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin. NO PETS of any kind are allowed. NOTE: Bed linens, bathmats, hand towels, and kitchen towels are provided. One starter set of bath towels and washcloths is provided for each guest. We recommend that Guests bring their own extra washcloths, bath towels, and beach towels since we have no way of providing extra towels during your stay. Note: Security cameras are in use covering the front entrance and the exterior perimeter of the cabin (excluding fire pit, hot tub, upper-level deck and lower-level patio).

This cabin was perfect for our family of 8. There was plenty of space for everyone. The cabin was very spacious inside and outside. The view was great. There’s even a trail down to the lake with a nice deck area. The host was great, when we had a few questions they got right back to us and were very helpful. We would definitely stay at this cabin again if we came back to this area. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a brief family gathering (3 nights) with 3 families from St. Louis & Louisville. Two families had children 4-8. Everyone was impressed from the minute we crossed the threshold of this newer cabin. Home has a wonderful open layout with a ton of windows and gas fireplace for cooler evenings. The bedrooms on 3 different levels worked extremely well for each family. The wrap around deck is perfect to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening cookouts while taking in the splendor of the fall foliage. Our family enjoyed the evening campfires while some relaxed in the hot tub. There was even a Sasquatch sighting (lol). Children loved the air hockey game. Some walked down the little trail to the lake and fished off the dock. Others hiked the trails of Natural Bridge State Park nearby. We highly recommend Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin and look forward to our returned trip.

The surrounding woods were very quiet. We saw two deer. The path down to the large pond was a little hike, but very lovely. The beds were very comfortable, and the air in the cabin was clean.

We have finally found our perfect spot. With 4 actual bedrooms (no lofts) everyone got their own room. Kids got good sleep and you know how important that is. The location is great for getting to trailheads. The entire process was a breeze. We had an absolutely perfect weekend

The property was fantastic. Clean, private and spacious. Communication with the host was easy and the proximity to Deer Water Lake was very convenient. The property is also close to all of the attractions at Red River Gorge (Natural Bridge, Jumping Rock, etc...). Highly recommend.

Great place to stay! First time we stayed here and it very clean, easy check in. Lake was clear, great swimming! kids loved it. Fishing was also great, kids caught fish every day.

We came to Kentucky to experience the glass bottom cave tours and to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We wanted something close that two families could stay together. This place was perfect! Love the setup and all the bathrooms were a plus. Very well equipped and homey. Definitely would recommend this beautiful cabin.

Our family enjoyed the fishing and kayaking in the little lake behind the home. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was also a great outdoor eating area.

Great for our annual vacation family gathering. My granddaughters learned to fish and the oldest now says she wants to fish on a more regular basis! The lake is so awesome. I actually swam with the catfish with my mask and snorkel. We made most of our meals on the terrific gas stove! Bonded around the campfire at night! Gazed at the stars and slept so well on the comfy beds. May plan another trip at this wonderful location in the gorge.

Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin was perfect for a family weekend get away. The cabin was immaculate, and was well-stocked with kitchen supplies to cook as a family. All of the furniture was very comfortable, which allowed us to fully enjoy the inside and outside spaces!
For planning purposes: driving down to the lake front is a little challenging - my SUV struggled with the hill. It is VERY easy to do a tiny walk/hike to the water, but not quite doable for those who are very young or older. The waterfront itself is also very deep, and there is no shallow for kids to play in. The little ones still really enjoyed themselves swimming - just don't forget life jackets/noodles (noodles were also at the cabin for guest use!)! We would stay at this property again - you should too!

Very nice cabin. Plenty of room for our eight grandkids and six adults. Best dock on Deer Water Lake to enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking and taking in the scenery. A consensus of opinion by our family is to make a return trip to KSW.

Had suck a great stay here and plan to come back! It was perfect for our group. THe. kitchen had everything we needed, the grill was great, the deck was spacious, and the whole place was great! The lake was also a great addition. The dock was perfect, good fishing, and nice to have a kayak.

Great place for grandparents, our two daughters and their teen and adult children. They all enjoyed the lake using your kayak, plus other float devices. They caught three catfish and were thrilled with that and thankful they could catch and release.

The cabin was beautiful and so spacious. The deck and porch area was perfect and we loved the private lake dock.

The house, the hosts, the amenities, the location were just perfect. It was very easy to talk with the host when we needed some more propane for the grill. The lake was easier to access than we thought it would be and we caught some father's day fish! Just remember to bring your own soap and shampoo for the shower :) We are already talking about making this an annual trip!

Jerry's cabin is such a nice well equiped property. My family and I had a wonderful time. This house has just about everything. Perfect location to zip line and hiking trails. We hiked to the natural bridge on the original trail and was worth every step. Highly recommend a look and also take a drive through the Nada tunnel. Thank you Jerry for such a wonderful place to spend time with family.

Our family of 7 had a blast at this cabin. The cabin is nice and big and the kitchen was great for making family breakfast and dinner. We loved the corn hole and fishing on the lake! The wraparound deck was a true enjoyment as well. Highly recommend this immaculate place!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and updated. The kids loved the hot tub and air hockey table, and also fishing in the lake. The property was very convenient to local restaurants and all of the hiking we wanted to do. We would stay there again for sure!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin. The location was perfect for our travel adventure celebrating a family member’s birthday. We enjoyed hiking the Red River Gorge, walking down the trail behind our cabin for fishing, and the firepit for roasting marshmallows and making smores. The cabin was very clean and spacious for four families with all the essentials needed for our stay. The host was very responsive to all our questions in booking and while staying onsite. We would definitely stay again if traveling to the Red River Gorge area.

After the deep freeze over the Christmas weekend, several places in the county were without water due to water line breaks. We had water in our cabin when we first arrived, but it went out overnight. We used water from the hot tub to flush toilets and we bought a lot of bottled water for drinking, cooking and washing dishes. We decided to stay because we didn’t want to stay in a hotel. We made it work. The cabin is quite comfortable and the porches are nice. It’s not as remote as you think. There are cabins on either side of this one.

Stayed at the cabin with friends for a long weekend and it couldn’t have been better. Listing is exactly as described, all check in information was provided and perfect.
Lots of pillows, blankets and even Christmas decorations that made the visit feel even more special!!

This is the second time we have stayed at Kentucky Straight Wilderness and it is our favorite. We took friends with us and there was plenty of room for both our families plus some. The cabin is so peaceful and we plan to go back!
