I reached out before booking this property to ensure the hot tub was working because I saw negative reviews about the hot tub. The owner ensured it was working. I also reach out days before my arrival because he said that it takes multiple days to heat up and he ensured me it was on and working. When we arrived, it was ice cold. I messaged the owner and he said that it was working and tried to get me to fix it for him. I told him I wouldn’t and he said he put in a trouble ticket. A maintenance worker arrived to check on it, without any notice, and he couldn’t repair the hot tub. Paying over value for a working hot tub was what I expected - but without a working hot tub, this was not worth the extra money. The owner didn’t even offer a partial refund, which is what I would’ve done if I was in his shoes.
Aside from the hot tub - there were bugs everywhere. My son had spiders crawling all over him during the night. There were bugs flying around upstairs.
Half of the furniture was wobbly or broken. Some of the lights were out.
Overall, I would give this a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I would steer clear of this place unless it’s your only option left.

The property was in a dismal state: curtain panels were torn and missing, the kitchen was filthy with a grimy refrigerator and freezer, and every drawer was filled with hair and dirt. The house was covered in dust and really old spider webs, clearly neglected for a long time.
I reported these issues to the host, including a broken jacuzzi and shower, and another bathroom that was unusable at night due to a broken light bulb and towel handle. The host's response was shockingly dismissive and rude. He denied the problems and demanded that I leave the house in good condition, showing no intention to address the issues. The situation escalated when the host arrived unannounced with cleaning staff, who acknowledged the need for deep cleaning. However, the host became confrontational, accusing me of having unrealistically standards and even threatening me with additional cleaning fees. Feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, especially with the host staying on the same property, my husband and I decided to leave two days early. The cleaning staff could only manage to partially clean the kitchen, highlighting the extent of neglect. The host's behavior remained unprofessional throughout, and he continued to send negative messages after our departure. Nobody deserves to be disrespected this way. I travel a lot and had never an experience like this host. It serves as a warning about the importance of proper maintenance and respectful host-guest interactions in the hospitality industry.

Very spacious, clean and relaxing. The bonus room was awesome. My kids played foosball and we enjoyed watching a couple of movies as a family. Didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub however it was a nice option to have.

Property was really nice. There were a lot of stairs to get to the front door, so be prepared if you pack a lot of stuff. It was listed as 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths in VRBO, but it's actually 2 beds and 2 baths only. Owner was so nice and communicative that he offered the manager's apartment downstairs if we needed more space. Would definitely recommend this property.

Overall experience was amazing location was perfect still had snow and the cabin is right next to a hill perfect for hiking... We had an early issue with smoke alarms going off the property manager Frank called me back and we worked something out overall experience was excellent would definitely go back.. and you need not bring anything to this cabin they provide dishes pots pans silverware spices really like this place

The overall cabin was really cozy and had everything you need on a trip. The property manager was extremely nice and helpful. The overall location was great, it’s pretty close to everything you’d want to do in Big Bear. The each balcony has a beautiful view! Be warned, a vehicle with AWD or 4x4 is HIGHLY recommended in the snow. The drive way is pretty steep, be prepared for a lot of stairs. This is a really good location for a weekend trip.

We visited after the all snowfalls in the BBL area. Parking was a challenge, with lots of snow it was pretty hard to get up the parking space without chains or 4x4 car. Path and stairs to the house were also hard to get to due to snow, owner\management might need to pay more attention to this issue in the future. The house itself is good, with nice amenities and good vibe in general. However hot tub was not working (and owner promised to partially refund due to this fact, but it haven't happened so far). Overall - good place to stay.

The manager was very nice, they properly was very clean, comfortable, and very nice views with the all facilities, even there were some warm clothes and boots under the beds, the kitchen was perfect with the items, I strongly suggest the others to enjoy their vacation in this properly specially for the families with kids it's a best place.

One of the worst experience. To get to the property we have to walk through an icy driveway. I fell on my hand. The owner didn't have the courtesy to clean the parking. It was a mountain of snow. Impossible to park.

We love the location and the cabin. It was too big for just the two of us, but I chose it because of the indoor hot tub, and we were not able to use it. I was notified the day before, which was very disappointing. I was told I was going to get a $60 discount, which I didn't. And we were able to check out at 4pm, not 11am. That was good. But still, the spa situation was a bummer. Overall, the location, communication and stay, was good.

1st thing. This was the 2nd time renting this cabin. The first time was flawless and everything great with the one note that it was just one of us and we never used anything but main floor and deck. This 2nd visit was with us, husband wife and two grown children. The place is amazing structurally and location wise. Unfortunately the maintenance and care of this place for this visit was very poor. We arrived late at 730pm and the manager was there cleaning in a rushed way. It was nice to meet her but upon her leaving, we found the upstairs bed unmade, laundry in the dryer, downstairs laundry garbage full, house and kitchen unswept with food on the floor. Perhaps they vacuumed but on the living room we pulled out 2 fishing hooks from carpet. So dangerous. When we took 1st shower in master bathroom it severely started pouring water down on the dining room table, initially dripping but with in a few seconds a 7 or 8 stream decent pouring. We didn't use fireplace but it was full of ash and wood not stocked just a couple of pieces leftover. Spa worked after calling owner and figuring out some nobs were off. There were some pieces of the spa laying around in spa and not sure it was clean didn't smell that chlorinated unlike first visit. The main TV worked fine but the downstairs had no volume and no instructions how to configure it to a cd player next to it. The spa TV has never worked despite many attempts to plug it in and turn on. Deck was also unkempt and unswept. The grill and utensils appeared used and uncleaned from appearances but we didn't use. Also, the ac didn't appear to work well blows air but not to temp. The ceiling fan on main floor worked till the 3rd night of our stay but then it died.
Overall, this location is Divine and is a prime spot with a gorgeous view and great location to outdoors, park, lake, and town. Unfortunately it appeared, despite reserving the place months early, they were unprepared for our arrival despite us arriving later than expected. We loved our 4 day vacation and made the most of it. We love this cabin and location but for such a premium price and a lackluster response to shower leaking badly & dangerous hooks on the floor, its a gamble. If you don't care about keptness & want best location & a big cabin with prime view, this is great if you don't mind price. But if you want the value of the premium price you pay for and want the amenities operational as promised at reservation. Its 50 50 based on 2 visits

This is not high end accommodations but it is clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us. Very private but just a quick drive to town for restaurants and shopping. The views are wonderful and the kitchen was well equipped. The on-site manager was very friendly and responsive to our questions. The only downside was the sofa and love seat in the living room. They were very old, worn and uncomfortable. If they were replaced, we would definitely stay here again. If not, not happening.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The home was well situated for privacy and peaceful views. The jacuzzi and foosball table were nice extras. With the fresh snow on the sloped property, we enjoyed a snowball fight and our kid-made slide!

Great house, great hill and view!
So my family didn't love the stairs, but oh well, I guess I should have given them more of a warning. We had a blast exploring and sledding down the yard!! The house was awesome. Great craftsmanship and design (despite being a bit dated) very comfortable for two couples and one child, felt like we were at mom & dads place! Check in was easy, the property manager was VERY friendly. There was a bit of confusion of if the spa was cleaned/treated between guests, so we didn't use it. Other thing that was lacking, we couldn't find a can opener! Other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay. Thank you again for letting us stay!

We took a last minute skiing trip, and this place was amazing. Great for the kiddos, especially the basement/game room/movie theater. We also loved the indoor hot tub! We rented it knowing about the climb to the front door (no joke with all the ice and snow on the stairs, carrying suitcases and coolers after dark), but it truly is the stairway to heaven. On site property manager Margie is awesome, and the property owner was very quick to answer questions and made the check in process a breeze. We would 100% stay here again.

Be prepared for stairs! Very much worth the climb. Very quiet and private. Spacious home with indoor spa. Incredible view including the lake itself from large balcony outside living room and spa room.. I would return and recommend. A little pricey though.

This location literally is premiere. Such a gorgeous view of Big Bear lake off the deck. Great location only about 3 to 4 miles from the town with stores and amenities. Frank is great at making you feel welcome. Lots of dishes and amenities left to at least help with your stay. Lighting is a little different than normal but can be figured out. A definite consideration for a family retreat, personal retreat or just a relaxing beautiful trip to Big Bear!

Great communication. There are a number of steps to get up to the house but you are rewarded with a tree top view of Big Bear. The place had all the necessary amenities and the jacuzzi was a plus. Thanks again Frank

Nice views and location
We enjoyed our stay here. There are a lot of stairs to climb, so be ready for that. The property was fairly clean but we had some ants and spider webs outside door entrance that could have been taken care of. The view from living room was great and you have nice views from most windows. Couches could use replacing and rugs are a bit dingy, but foe mountain escape, it was nice.
