Beautiful home. Has everything you needed.

Very nice property, however the immediate ground surrounding the house could have used some trimming. There was debris and underbrush making walking other than the trail to the steps to the water difficult. We also found very strong urine left in the downstairs bathroom toilet, someone forgot to flush and of course that's the first thing you have to do upon arrival. overall we loved it, didn't have any communication with property manager.

This is an amazing property. My family and I really enjoyed it. The house is very spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Everything you need a s home away from home is provided. The location is great, private and quiet but close enough to drive to town. View and outside amenities are spectacular. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent several days at this VRBO while we explored the surrounding area. The lot is beautiful and private, the view is lovely, and the house itself was well equipped. We had some trouble with the door code, and it took about half an hour for us to connect with the person whose contact info we were given to resolve that and enter the house initially. Due to the recent rain and fog, we were absolutely eaten alive by mosquitoes every time we set foot outside. Other than that and a few small quibbles with the cleaning, this rental was perfect! (It’s worth noting the steps down to the shore are VERY steep which was fine for us, but the elderly, mobility challenged, and little kids would struggle. The weeds growing through the stair risers don’t help.)

This was our second visit to Woodland Retreat and we found wonderful improvments with the new deck and stairs to the beach. The house was, again, perfect, for our family of 7 including 5 adults, ages 49 to 81, and two children ages 6 and 10. We love the location and Downeast Maine and will definitely return next summer. Thank you Jenny and manager, Joey.

This was our second time staying at the property. It's a large and lovely house and we'll be coming again next year.

Everything was wonderful. Convenient access to everything we needed. The only problem was the bbq grill we were counting on was really in very poor condition.
Really needs to be replaced.

The property was beautiful and as advertised. Jenny was very responsive. We didn't do much. We mostly sat staring out at the water and watching our dogs play. We didn't have to worry too much about our dogs running in the street or getting lost. That, in itself, helped us to relax. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed playing ping pong and had lots of laughs. Thank you for your attention to every possible need. We had a wonderful time.

My family had a wonderful stay here! The house is clean, comfortable, absolutely adorable, and the views are gorgeous! We loved the seclusion and privacy the property gave us, while still being close to so many beautiful sites and hikes. Highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to the Cutler area!

My family couldn’t have asked for a better property for our coastal Maine vacation. It’s a beautiful home—quiet, tranquil, and cozy. We would definitely stay at Woodland Retreat again! Jenny and the property manager are easily accessible and will help you with anything you need, and they’ve provided many little extras and special touches that make the property feel like home away from home.

My husband and I, along with 2 friends and their dog, enjoyed our week at your Cutler home. The location couldn't be better. We were able to visit our favorite spots and found some new favorites as well. Everythng we needed for a week away was available.
Thank you for your hospitality!

We enjoyed watching tide go out and come back in. Did a little clam digging in the bay. Very relaxing. Next visit will have to be during Lobster season we would have enjoyed watching lobster boats and eating lots of Lobster. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our dog Louiee enjoyed the outdoors. Thank you

The house is amazing, the best we have stayed at on VRBO. It has huge windows and lots of light. Everything one could need was provided including dog coverings for the many wonderful couches and dog bowls. The pancake mix and Maine blueberry syrup made for great breakfasts. We felt comfortable allowing the dogs to roam the property because of the amount of surrounding land. They did upset the wild turkeys, which I'm sure they enjoyed much more than the turkeys did. Overall a beautiful house in a beautiful location! One little suggestion would be a hammock for outdoor naps.

Great property - beautiful views and surrounding area! The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Really appreciated the set up for the dogs as well. While the property is located in a fairly remote area - it was exactly what we were looking for this time around. Thanks!

The peace & tranquility soothed our weary souls. The beautiful cottage, with its uncluttered and comfortable decor and floor to ceiling windows that brought nature inside, welcomed us the minute we stepped in. All the basic necessities were provided and appreciated. The well-stocked kitchen made any meal possible. Foosball and ping pong tournaments were a daily occurrence and such fun! Working with the owner was a true delight and we will be back next year for a longer stay!

This place is magical. We were there in early October and couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The house is clean, comfortable and fully equipped! Every detail has been thought of. As for the outdoors, where do I begin? It's so private and the views!! Those sunsets and being able to look out and walk to the water's edge! We used the firepit, sat on the dock and were mesmerized by the tides coming in and out. We will definitely be back.

Property was as described. Beautiful overlooking tidal estuary. Lacked for nothing with respect to amenities. Close enough for shopping but isolated enough for peace and relaxation. Campobello island only 45 minutes away. Only thing I would recommend would be to wash all linen in odorless detergent. There are too many people with allergies ( my wife included).
Overall a relaxing time with good friends.

Our first thought when we entered the building was “What a pretty place.” That thought repeated throughout our stay. More exposure led us to realize that we have never stayed in a rental where so much thought and attention had been spent to make our stay pleasant; everything we might want was there. Furnishings are good quality and comfortable. While one of us prefers soft beds and the other hard, both of us were happy with the beds.
The canine accommodations are particularly good. There are covers for sofas so you can share the space with your pet. What a simple and useful thing to do! We’ve never seen anything like it, and were so happy to find it.
The location is lovely (as the pictures show). The adirondack chairs are comfortable and made of a modern synthetic (we have the same in rockers) that doesn’t peel and doesn’t need painting. Again, two different-sized people both found them comfortable. Waze doesn’t know where it is, but the directions and signage make it easy to find. Overall, a gem!

My husband, sister and II had an idyllic stay at Woodland Pointe! The home was clean, well stocked, bright and cheerful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck every evening watching the gorgeous sunsets and ever-changing tides. We saw many different birds, sea life and wildlife!!! Very relaxing and peaceful week!! Thank you!!

We had the best time at this perfect home and property. It was truly a real Down East/Bold Coast experience. We steamed fresh lobsters from a local fisherman. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you needed for lobster. We dug for clams at low tide, again the house had bucket, small shovel and muck boots. We steamed them, made chowder and clams casino. We picked blueberries for pancakes, cookies and muffins. We attended the Grand Lake Stream Folk Art Festival and the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland. We visited several lighthouses. West Quoddy in Lubec was definitely my favorite at the easternmost point in the US during sunrise. The short hike down to Gulliver’s Hole and High Ledge was wonderful, rivaling anything in Acadia National Park without the crowds or two hour drive. It has beautiful rocky Maine shoreline scenery with forests and a bog. We fished and caught smallmouth bass, a brook trout and a chain pickerel in the lakes nearby. The mackerel fishing from the municipal pier in Eastport was fun. Jasper Beach was pretty and unique being a natural rock tumbler producing rounded, smooth rocks and pebbles. There is a smaller similar beach in Bog Brook Cove Preserve. The trails on both sides of the mouth of Little River in Cutler offer great hikes with great views. The one on the west side allows you to see Little River Lighthouse. I can’t say enough about the sunsets from the deck. They are absolutely gorgeous! Communication with the owner was wonderful. The house was so spacious and comfortable. The property is super private and relaxing. Our two beagles enjoyed having the freedom to explore the yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great relaxing time
We had a great time nobody bothered us at all definitely very secluded unfortunately we didn’t see much wildlife we were hoping to see some we did see some baby skunks and a deer ever the skunks left but very wooded probably got predators out there so never know the hiking trails are fantastic in Cutler and Lubec enjoying nature is fantastic and they are very dog friendly we were hoping to get the same weeks next year but unfortunately someone else booked one of the weeks before we could get it but a great place to relax

Beautiful location, spacious house, clean and well equipped, great communication, couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. And walking out onto the low tide mud flats in boots provided was lots of fun! The 2 decks are so inviting, and we had beautiful weather, with one rainy day. 5 hour hike around the Bold Coast trail very scenic and not too difficult for the older people amongst us. And our dog, Cow, had a lot of fun with the toys provided. Thank you so very much.

Jenny‘s house is incredible! From the moment we stepped in, we noticed that she had every detail covered. There was nothing that we needed because the house had more than enough supplies, games, and even things if you had brought your dog. We noticed how thoughtful she was to make her house feel like home! The view and the location was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. It was so magical that we didn’t want to leave. The ocean view deck with the steps leading down to the beach was a perfect place to spend most of our mornings and evenings. We also enjoyed the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and spending family time singing by the fire together. This was an idyllic vacation for all of us! We cannot wait to return. Thank you so much Jenny!

Excellent place for families and pets!
Our family loved this home and enjoyed all the extras that came with it. The house is away from the road and other homes. We were able to let our children play outside and let our dog roam around off his leash without worrying. Home even has dog toys and bones! Kids loved the game tables in the basement. View is incredible! We had local family over for a cook out and there was plenty of space for everyone to eat and enjoy themselves. We will definitely return.
