How anyone would rent this is unbelievable. Sinks didn't work. A toilet was plugged for 3 days. The 1 refrigerator freezer didn't work. Garage door was broken when we arrived and not fixed for 3 days. A realtor tried to show this home during our vacation after I told you guys no. Property manager nowhere to be found. Owner doesn't car, Property manager doesnt care, Southern is a joke of a service

Garage door did not work, ice maker did not work - had to buy ice, Jacuzzi tub in the master could not turn the jets on and the roaches were pretty bad. we had them come spray but it didn't really help. The roaches were mainly in the kitchen area. If possible we would like some compensation for the issues listed mainly for the roaches..

We were disappointed overall with our stay. Though the property accommodates up to 22 people, don't expect adequate parking for a group of that size. The garage wasn’t available for parking, so we parked some vehicles off-premises (since street parking isn’t allowed). When you enter the property, there's an immediate smell of mold/mildew. The smell was most pronounced in the two closets in the living area as well as from the door to the garage. The garage clearly hadn’t been sanitized in a long time. The same smell also existed in the bathrooms throughout, along with noticeable mold on the shower liners. Even though there is a television in each room, very few of the remotes worked or matched. We had to purchase batteries because only one of the remotes had them. All of the remotes were missing their backs. (We later found a stack of them in the living room…some fit the remotes, some didn’t). One of the property managers came over the next morning to take inventory of the missing remotes and Fire sticks, with the intentions of making a purchase and returning later that day. Afterwards, I received a call saying she wasn’t returning because the store she went to didn’t have any of the items and that an order would be placed for new remotes and Fire sticks…something that did us no good because they would arrive after our departure. We had a horrible surprise after our second night. By chance, we discovered that the lock on the sliding glass doors DIDN’T WORK!! We placed a metal bar on the track (we found it in a closet) to keep the door from opening until Southern Vacation Rentals was able to send someone over to make repairs. While he was there, I asked if he could do anything about the front door (the wood frame around the door was rotting and falling apart). He said there was nothing he could do because the entire door and frame needed to be replaced. It boggles my mind that Southern Vacation Rentals hasn't devoted more time to inspecting their properties to make sure they are safe and secure for visitors. After our first day on the beach, we wanted to do laundry. Another surprise. There were moldy bed linens in the washer and another load in the dryer. We booked this property because it accommodated a group of our size. It was our first post-quarantine foray as a family to celebrate my great-niece’s 2nd birthday. Next time we’ll be more discerning in making our choice.

This property has so much going for it. The location can't be beat unless you're actually on the beach. It is a very short walk (less than a block) to cross the street and access the beach from Pompano Joe's. The house sleeps 22 people with more than ample bathroom space. Kitchen is spacious. The pool is practically on the property. Decent sized back deck with grill plus upper level porch. Some of the bathroom cabinets & walls were a bit worn (scuffs on the walls, the paint peeling on the cabinets) but nothing that would prevent us from staying here again. The rental company was terrific from the start with early check in available (although this was not guaranteed when we booked). They were also very responsive when we had issues with none of the TVs working (we couldn't access local television stations thoughout the stay) so I would love to see that fixed for the next guests. While we didn't spend much time inside, it would have been great to have the TV at the end of the day to wind down. The location, sleeping capabilities and price are too good to pass up if you have a large group.
