Great location. Lovely staff.
Room needed care and attention. Dirty skirting and broken blind. Small double room also included a small double bed. Not really big enough for 2 people and the mattress was very uncomfortable.

The Royal Macintosh is a lovely Victorian hotel that is a stone's throw away from the sea and local restaurants and other amenities. They do amazing breakfasts and accommodated my husband's request for a tailor-made option without any issues at all.

creaky floorboards outside the room

It was a good location and the staff were friendly.
The room was very outdated and not very pleasant. No headboard on the bed. Shower gel was provided but it was really watered down.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were a decent size. The blinds/curtains were great as they kept the room dark.
The floor was very creaky and the walls were so thin that you could hear everything going on outside your room - so difficult getting to sleep because of this!
The lighting was dim. The shower kept changing temperature and we did not get any fresh towels during our 3 night stay.
The wifi was terribly slow and only worked intermittently.
Breakfast was £8 a day which was fine however, the food was cold and did not taste very good at all.
It was so difficult trying to get any soap/shampoo/conditioner out of the bottles as the dispensers were all broken.

really in need of serious updating. The bedroom was basic but relatively comfortable although but the bathroom was in poor condition. The towels were good quality and the bed quite comfortable.

A lovely place to stay! The ladies at reception and serving staff were just fabulous and SO HELPFUL. The beds were very soft and the rooms were clean and well-stocked with tea, coffee and soaps. The breakfast was delicious and we would recommend the waffles if you aren’t in the mood for a full Scottish breakfast (which also looked very good). We had the chicken and rump sizzlers for dinner here and the haggis nachos for a bit of fun and everything we ordered was delicious and fairly priced. There is a small pub here too which cant fit too many people, but the prices are very good and they have a beer garden out front if the weather is good!
Our only gripe was that the shower hose was too short and so water flow was restricted as the hose was kinked at the shower head height needed for us to be comfortable (6ft).

Breakfast was good
Room was small. Either-suite was tiny and the shower was terrible.

The bed was comfortable as I did had a good sleep. The bar room's good to have a sit down and have a pint. Breakfast was excellent, do like a cooked breakfast. My room did had a kettle so I can help myself to a cup of tea.
The only problem I had in room 21 was that when I turn on the main light, it flickers so I just used the bedside lights if I needed some light at night. Also the car park is too small, it was jampacked when I arrived so I had to hassle with looking for where to park my car.

Great value and would stay again
No car parking
