The stay was good. The many requests to review are not. The texting...not.
I understand the importance of reviews to merchants and business people. But give the customer a moment to breathe.
I did not stay at this b&b. My wife and son did. I forwarded the first two requests for review to my wife. She is very busy. I am very busy.
I hope I've made my concerns clear.

We had a very nice stay at the Gables for a couple days. Grand old Victorian building, beautiful wood flooring, staircases, tastefully decorated with old and antique furniture. Nice neighborhood. The host family is extremely welcoming and attentive, and breakfast in the dining room was a treat.

Very cozy and homey location. If you want a hotel experience, this is not for you. Breakfast is served in a large dining table where everyone sits and chats. This is an old house built in the 1800s with about 10 bedrooms. It was very quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious and home cooked. Bed was comfortable. Convenient 15 min walk to UPenn. I would come back here.

We stayed in this property for two nights. Owner and staff were very helpful and hospitable. Beautifully restored building, lovely room on third floor. It had a few quirks of a two hundred year old building like uneven floors and no elevator but otherwise very comfortable. Room was furnished with period accurate furniture. We had two lovely breakfasts. Lots of dining options in 10 minutes of walking.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My wife and I spent a couple nights at the Gables while we were in Philadelphia visiting out daughter. The rooms are gorgeous. The house is a magnificent historical property. Our stay was very quiet and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and helpful. On site parking is very convenient. We needed to leave our car at the Gables for a few hours after we checked out and that was no problem. We will stay here again next time we visit.

We wanted to do something different than normal hotel experience, and it surpassed our expectations. Service was great. Cesar make you feel like you’re family. Breakfast was great, the Philippines coffee was great. Quite, relaxing.

Exceptionally good stay; the owners were flexible and accommodating regarding arrival time, happy to help us when we accidentally got locked out, and cooked a truly amazing breakfast (Victorian birds' nest?) that I fully intend to replicate at home. There was good conversation over breakfast with the host and other guests, and we even got a picture of us over breakfast. Much, much more personalized experience than I'm used to. I'd be delighted to stay here again if business brings me back to Philadelphia.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gables. Checking in was smooth and easy. The house and our room were delightful - wonderful decor and very comfortable. The neighborhood was great to explore on foot. Breakfast was delicious and the staff made a lovely vegan meal for my partner. I would highly recommend the Gables to anyone looking for a comfortable, unique stay in Philly!

Loved that there was a private parking lot. It was a bit of a tight squeeze but so much better than parking on the street. The house is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept. My room “the library” was nice and clean. The bed was so cozy. All the other guests were quiet, very minimal/ if any street noise. The owners are so sweet, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. This is where I’ll stay if/when I come back to Philadelphia!

Our stay at the Gables was delightful. The Gonzalez family provided excellent hospitality, kindness, communication, and flexibility.
Our room was clean, well-kept, and the furnishings helped us feel at home immediately.
Breakfasts were also very nice! If you have time for it, I highly recommend sitting in the quiet garden with a good book.
We will be back!

The house was built in 1889 and is very well kept up. I loved the old furnishings and the ambiance. Linda and Cesar are terrific. We were given a goody bag of coffee, fruit and Linda's pineapple upside down cake before we left which was a wonderful treat.

Historic Bed and Breakfast in University City with exceptionally gracious hosts. Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, convenient to UPenn and Drexel. I felt like I was in an episode of the Gilded Age!

We had a wonderful stay. It was so nice to come back after a day in the city to a parking spot steps from the front door. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good. The neighborhood was nice with a park not far from the bed and breakfast. There was a small pop up street market in the park selling veggies, breads and some craft items. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Property was beautiful and room was comfortable. Sheets did have some yellow/brown stains on them which if I had noticed them earlier (it was very late when we went to bed) I would have asked for replacements.
