The property was clean and in a convenient area. But the room could have been cleaned in more detail but other than that it was ok. Our stay could almost be perfect if breakfast service was better. The third day we were there we kept having to ask for things like plates, coffee and cups and if there was a refill of food coming.

After traveling from Chicago through a harrowing snowstorm, where it was a parent that Michigan does not plow or salt their highways, I was extremely disappointed to see that the parking lot of the hotel itself had not even been cleared. Not only was it hard to navigate, I could hardly get out as the parking lot sits lower than the surrounding shopping mall, pavement, and it was treacherous. Just trying to go out for dinner became quite the endeavor! Word to management…PLOW YOUR PARKING LOT!!!

Check in was poor. Understaffed and no communication to front desk attendant as far as what rooms were cleaned and which ones where not. She had to leave the desk and run to check rooms before letting people have there room. It wasn’t her fault. We arrived at 4:30 and it took about 45 minutes to get our room as well as the other people waiting for their rooms.

The only issue was checking in. This was not a staff issue at all, seems more of a Marriot issue. But I booked a king bed room over a month out before the trip. I checked in 10 minutes after check in time began, and was told that my room was now a double queen. That they dont block rooms until check in and kings were sold out. Which I find odd since I checked in 10 minutes after 3. Anyway, everything else was great. Just dont expect to get the room that you booked in advance. Oh and breakfast was great too.

There was a dead fly in the window sill, the remote control was sticky as well as the night stand. Black sticky substance on bathroom floor and shower wall.

The breakfast offering and the breakfast room were wonderful. But maybe there are not enough people to serve as housekeepers at the current wage, but I was disappointed that our room was not attended to during the 4 days of our stay.

New hotel very well kept just a short Uber ride outside of downtown Grand Rapids MI. FREE parking and comfy clean new beds. Enjoyed the stay. If you are looking for something no frills Lise to downtown this is for you !

We really liked this hotel, but I don't think I have ever had a drier breakfast in my life. I am not sure what the problem was, but the biscuits, scones, and little quiches were incredibly dry - parched-mouth dry and crumbled right into dust. This was for all three days, and no matter what time we came to breakfast. All the patrons were commenting on it, as well.

It wasn't a huge deal, but there might need to be more direction on how to turn the light off above the microwave tower...and we only had one towel (yes, I could have called for more, but we were in a hurry when we figured it out. Again, neither were a big deal, just my 2 cents :)

The place is obviously brand new so that is nice. And the TV in our room was huge. Plus, it was one of the nicest showers I’ve ever been in. But when we were checking in, the employee that was helping us referred to me as “this guy” when talking to another employee. Also, we checked in at about 4 pm and the breakfast room was still quite trashed from breakfast - dirty tables, overflowing trash cans. And again, this was at four in the afternoon. The thing that bothered us the most was that the pool was out of order. Again, this place looked brand new so I don’t know what was wrong with it. But putting it simply, this was a priority to us and would not have stayed here if we had known the pool was not functioning.
