About this cabin rental
Located in Big Bear, this lovely cabin for $329 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This cabin was designed for the Big Bear experience! For us, that was the whole point. The first time we came to this town we instantly fell in love, but the hotels left a little to be desired. We wanted a private space with some of that classic cabin feel, but also just enough upscale accommodation to make it feel cozy and modern. We wanted a private hot tub. We wanted a wood fireplace. We wanted VIEWS! So we purchased this cabin for it's AMAZING location on the very top of the ridge, and then remodeled it to have an updated contemporary look with just enough rustic nostalgia to match the beauty of the mountains. This location is PERFECT for families and small gatherings, and can accommodate all types of occasions. Outside we have created a wrap-around deck that gives you a full-day lounging experience. Enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee from the front deck as it illuminates the majesty of Bear Mountain, or have a game of Cornhole while listening to our collection of classic vinyl tracks on the record player. In the back you can enjoy a day of grilling and cold beverages followed by a dip in the oversized hot tub under the starry night sky. The kids will enjoy the loft upstairs with foosball, games, plush oversized bean bags, etc., (and it's perfect for family movie nights). And best of all, if you are headed to Bear Mountain or the zoo it's only a short walk down the ridge! No need for parking or massive lines waiting for the bus. We are confident that you will find everything that you need here to make this trip to Big Bear the memory of a lifetime. Additionally, this home is independently owned and operated so we will be responsive and attentive to your needs. Quaint and cozy cabin with incredible view. We were very closely located to Bear Mtn for winter activities. We were lucky enough to have major snow in the area days before. Chains are a SERIOUS must and do not take Deer Canyon Rd as directed by Google; take Moonridge to Lassen as noted in prev reviews. The kitchen is well equipped and has a wine fridge. The oven and range were tricky to use as ignition was hot or miss. We definitely would use this nice place again

We had an amazing time at the cabin and the views were spectacular. We were able to see the ski lift at Bear mountain and watch people skiing all day. The property was great for our family of 6. The kids (and some grown ups) loved the games up in the loft. My husband had a great time browsing the cool record collection, and playing DJ for our group. Overall it was a very comfortable and accommodating space. We had a great time and the property was perfect for our stay.

We had a great time at the stargazer. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. Very comfortable, it was just the right size. The kitchen was great, most things we needed were there. We did need a blender but made do without. Everything is updated nicely. The location is walking distance to bear mountain. However if the roads are icy chains are mandatory and I suggest taken Lassen drive which is further up past Deer Canyon to siskiyou. The hill on Siskiyou off of Deer Canyon is almost impossible. We had a hard time and found the going around was best. However, we will stay here again on our next trip.

Our family had a wonderful stay in this cozy yet modern cabin! The location was in close proximity to everything and we really enjoyed the old school record player. Our daughter absolutely loved the upstairs loft play area and had so much fun playing with the large collection of Magnatiles. The owners were friendly and very responsive throughout the entire renting process. Hope to return in the future!

We had the most wonderful time at the Stargazer Chalet. This cabin is truly everything you could want in a cabin stay. It’s charming. It’s cozy. It has a large front deck with a beautiful view. Our children loved the loft. It has a chest of toys, games, etc…and decorated with string lights. The kitchen had everything we needed. The record player was a unique touch. We really enjoyed listening to music with a log on the fire. Chris and Melanie are truly wonderful hosts. You can tell a lot of thought went into making this place not just a stay, but a joyful cozy mountain cabin experience for all. We didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to come back. We had a wonderful stay at the Stargazer Chalet! Nicely decorated, cozy and welcoming cabin. Roomy loft, comfy beds in the bedrooms, and relaxing decks outside. Plenty of room for 4 - 5 people. Nice kitchen that has everything you need.
We would definitely recommend the Stargazer Chalet and will book another stay in the future.

The home was warm and inviting. The property was clean with state of the art appliances. My husband, myself and 2 granddaughters had a wonderful experience. We felt right at home in the star gazer cabin. We were able to enjoy all that Big Bear Lake has to offer. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to stay in when ever visiting Big Bear.

Quaint and cozy, truly a cabin in the woods with great views, great in-house amenities and comfortable mountain cabin environment. So peaceful for our getaway. This property was awesome! Had plenty of room for families. The hot tub was amazing and being able to grill was so nice. The gorgeous view of the ski resort on one side and the stars at night on the other made for a relaxing weekend! We will be back!

We loved the location and vibe of the cabin. Fireplace was great and the record player and accompanying record collection was a nice touch and a big hit with adults and kiddos. We enjoyed the hot-tub, which was clutch after a long, fun day on the slopes. Thx for hosting us.

The house was super clean and very cozy. There was more than enough room for our family of 4. The beds were comfortable and all necessary amenities were provided. We spent a lot of time in the loft playing foosball and old school Super Nintendo and Sega games! The owners quickly responded to any questions we had. We hope to make it back to the Stargazer Chalet for our next trip to Big Bear!

Wonderful experience for our family of four. The accommodations couldn’t have been more perfect! The location is near Bear Mountain Resort…so close you could see people coming down the mountain from the living room window but far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. The home was SO cozy, cute, and had everything we needed. I can’t say enough great things about this place! Definitely staying here again next trip!

We had such a great few days at this cabin. It was very well decorated, exactly like the pictures, and super clean. The large windows in the living room are to die for and overlook the ski slopes. We had such a great time cuddling up on the comfy couch with a fire looking out at the beautiful view. The fire place works great but is on the smaller side so if you plan to have a fire make sure the wood you bring is small or that you have a little axe to cut the pieces up. The heater works great in the entire house as well. Mattresses were a bit hard for my liking but who can complain when you can walk right outside the door and hop in the hot tub surrounded by snow. They also had the hot tub running and hot when we arrived which was so appreciated cause not all places do this and then you have to wait until day two to get in but no trouble at this place. We had an AWD and had no trouble navigating through the snow without chains but they are a bit higher up than the town and get more snow so if it snowed really hard before you arrive, make sure to bring the chains as back up or 4WD as they recommend. Great time had by all, we will be back!

Driveway was barely cleared. So narrow we could not get in. Could not even open doors to unload. Slipped and fell several times. We damaged our car pretty bad. Hired our own snow plow the following day to come help us ($40.00).
All decks covered in snow several feet high. You couldn’t even sit outside or walk around safely.
Photos make the place look way bigger than it really is.
All the other places around us were cleared for easy parking and accessibility.
Driveway is also steep.
Overall takeaway not a safe place to stay.

The perfectly sized A-framed cabin was clean, up-to-date and beautifully furnished. After a long day skiing on the mountain it was a perfect and cozy place to come back to. We are definitely wanting to rent again for the winter and summer season. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. 5 stars all around!

This cabin is beautiful. The view is amazing. My family went for a Christmas vacation and enjoyed everything about it. The location is perfect. We had issues with the icy roads in the neighborhood but thankfully we came prepared with chains. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

The house was amazing from the front entrance to the hot tub the big picture window was amazing you could look at it and see Bear Mountain the upstairs loft had a nice set up I would absolutely rent this cabin again I definitely recommend renting this cabin

We knew the area was nice and so much to do in Big Bear, but the property was just perfect. Everything fresh, newly remodeled, very clean and views, views, views! We loved the evenings, looking at the lights and the ski resort. Truly spectacular. The pictures of the property are great, too, but still cannot do it justice. We’ll be coming back!
