Pros : Very nice location, beach front, safe and secure and smaller building, not very crowded.

When I go to vacation, I dont want to to be calling property owners and rental agencies to fix things. Things should work as advertised/listed and it was the exact opposite what happened- not working dishwasher, DVD player, toilet making funny noises. You do not want to be washing dishes at home and on your vacation!
I made calls to property rental agency atleast 3-4 times during my stay as if I was trying to get my own house fixed! I dont want to be doing that when I am renting an expensive condo. Maintenance did respond within 24 hours ; However, there was no acknowledgement of annoyance or proactive management of property owners to compensate for a frustrating stay which should have been a stress free vacation on the beach.

We have stayed in this building many times before, always renting from individual owners. It was always wonderful. Now this management company has taken over and it's a whole different experience. We had problems beginning as we drove in to the property. The management company called to tell us the A/C was not working properly but a repairman was on the way. Ok...the repairman arrived and asked us what was wrong. We told him we had just gotten there and didn't know anything about it. He checked it out and said there was nothing wrong with it. Great. The next morning there was water all over the utility room closet where the unit is and no air blowing out of the vents. This is Easter Sunday. The repairman comes back out after 4 hours waiting on him and again says no problem. All week, sometimes it blew and sometimes it didn't. We quit calling because it was cool outside but it was very humid in the condo.The unit is very poorly equipped. There were two black wash cloths that were for makeup removal and that was it in the whole place. We asked for more three separate times. Each time they said they would bring some, we never got any. The kitchen has two small serving or mixing bowls, no decent knives and the dishes and silverware are all mismatched. There were 2 dish cloths and 2 dish rags. A family of 10 goes through a stock like that pretty quickly. We had to wash towels all week also because there are only two in each bathroom. The bed in the master bedroom is so tall, it needs step stools to get in...but there's not one! My husband and I climbed and rolled to get in and out, it's seriously too tall for comfort. No beach service came with the unit, something I missed in the description. I guess because it was so out of character for the building. We rented chairs which is an additional expense. The code for the lobby where the elevators are didn't work after the second day so it was just unlocked all week. The code for the beach gate had to be entered sometimes up to ten times before it would eventually open. The wifi code was copied wrong in the email we received and it was the day after we arrived before someone called us about it. Fortunately, we found it on the router and didn't have to depend on them. Finally the washer broke Friday night around 7 and they didn't call us back till Saturday right before we left. They were sending someone right over lol. We miss the old care and pride of place.

We had a great time at Dunes of Crystal Beach. The view was amazing from the huge balcony. We saw dolphins most days and enjoyed watching the surfers. The condo was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen very well stocked. We would definiately stay here again.

Overall our vacation rental was a great experience. When we arrived, there was pieces of glass on the floor in the dining area. Looks like a light bulb or glass had broken and had not been all swept up. The view from the balcony is wonderful. Kitchen is well equipped. King mattresses are saggy and need to be replaced. Only one dish towel and dish cloth is provided. Not enough for a month’s stay.

First of all, the contract wasn’t honored. When you sign something, you can’t just change it and expect people to be ok with that without even telling them. One toilet you had to add water to get it to flush properly. The beds sucked. Some of the balcony furniture was broken. There was no gate opener when we got there and when told about it, we never got one. The guy above us was rude and completely ruined family vacation. Would never stay there again.

when we first arrived, the place is very big and nice. men were there working on the a/c and said that it was warmer than they liked. someone was working on it. at this time it was 76. we moved all our stuff in as we had driven 13 hours from arkansas to stay here. the most money we have ever paid on a condo. my daughter just finished her chemo and radiation as she has breast cancer. i'm a type one diabetic on a pump and bad asthma and we had two year old babies with us. anyway another man showed up couple hours later and said it would be monday before they could see if they get the part. talked with elizabeth and she said she would send over fans to help til monday, HA HA, sent one fan. if we wanted to go purchase more at walmart, they would reimburse us. which we did as it took 5 more fans to even begin to be tolerable. temp kept rising up to 81 degrees inside. the freezer was not working properly and our $500 worth of groceries that we purchased saturday, took forever to freeze, some popsicles not until 4 days later. it was miserable at nighttime. lady never called me on monday morning, so around 9:20 i called her and she said let me check and the part can not be there for 4-5 days after a comedy of errors, id gladly explain this to comeone but i just walked in to my door at home and dont want to waste my time trying to type all this. will never use this again and we plan to get with the florida attorney general office to explain this issue. friday night late, finally after much on our end, they agreen to give us a little money back and for the fans. did not pay for the new coffee pot we bought as there was not one and the amount of issues that everyone had to keep working on just to get it tolerable. temps never got below 77 and that was with two portable window ac which we had to vent out the sliding door from the den and we could not even use that to go outside. it was just unreal. so worst experience we had ever ever ever and sacrificed much to get to come here, but NEVER again. ao much more to this story but dont want to waste my time explaining it cause no one will pay attention anyway

The complex, Dunes of Crystal Beach, is FABULOUS! Location, amenities, etc. is absolutely perfect. This stretch of beach is pretty much unmatched almost anywhere in the United States! My family and I have been coming to this stretch for 20+ years.We were excited to stay at this location, two complexes down from our “original” spot, since it is large and provided the space for our now expanding families. Unit 103 is in a good location as it is close to elevator and somewhat private (not looking over pool or near beach access gate). The balcony is large and the views are to die for. The unit is definitely a bit dated, but that is not a big deal for our family. However, we were overall disappointed in the unit for the price. The bed mattresses were lumpy and old. Pillows were flat and old. Towels raggedy and dingy looking. There were NO hand towels or wash clothes upon our arrival in a unit that sleeps 12. Were were able to email the management company and have towels delivered that day, but still a hassle that shouldn’t have occurred. Upon arrival we had to purchase a coffee maker as the carafe for the one in unit was missing. There was a kurieg, but with that many people drinking coffee, kcups would have cost a fortune. The balcony sliding doors are rusted out and don’t close properly. The primary bedroom is nice, but the bed and bathtub situation are not accessible for elderly individuals. There are walk in showers which could work, but my dad was not able to stay in the primary bedroom as the bed is VERY high off the ground, so that was a bummer. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation. The unit was clean and worked for the week, however for the price, we expected more. We are returning to this location next year, but checking out a different unit.

Family gathering for Thanksgiving week.. Location right on the beach was great and condo had plenty of room for the 9 of us, While it was very serviceable the condo needs updating and new kitchen utensils.

This place is absolutely beautiful! Had everything we needed, everything worked and we had no complaints what so ever. Honestly it is the best places I have stayed in Destin. Will book again!

When we first walked in, we were very pleased. It is spacious and has some nice appliances. After further inspection, however, some issues surfaced. The lock on the sliding glass door was unusable (we had to purchase a mop with a long handle to keep the doors locked). The sheets were too small for the beds, which resulted in waking up as a mummy. One person got a warm shower- there were 5 of us. We called maintenance to fix the door and the hot water immediately. Maintenance did a great job. This is the third Dunes of Crystal Beach condo we have stayed in....and we love the building. But this unit was not equal to our previous stays.

The condo was very spacious and clean. The condo accommodated our party nicely. The white sand beaches were very clean and just an overall treat to take a long stroll or just to relax. Part of the package was golf, parasailing and many more activities. Overall just a great family experience. Customer service overall was an A+ with the owners' and the condo company made everything easy and streamline. I would recommend this condo to family and friends. Great location close to restaurants and grocery. A nice outlet mall within walking distance.

If your wanting a decent sleep while on vacation take note.. The beds in this condo are worn out and are shaped more like a bowl than a bed. The headboard is just about ready to fall off of the bed in the guest suite. The carpets in the rooms are also in bad shape and is apparent just by looking. The unit was plenty big and offered good access to the beach. For the price I was disappointed in the overall shape of the condo. I sent a message expressing my concerns to Destin Getaways with no response.
We won’t be returning, nor would I recommend.

The condo was a great experience, we loved the location and it was just as described. We absolutely had a great time in Destin. Only complaint is that one of the full beds was very uncomfortable and broke down and there were not 12 towels for the 12 people it was supposed to sleep.

This was the nicest place we have stayed at. The very large balcony had enough space and seating for all 10 of us! Loved morning coffee looking at the beach or an afternoon cocktail on the balcony. Kitchen was very nice and had everything you need. I do wish we wouldn't have to pay to get in at noon when it was ready, seems like an unnecessary expense. But overall, great vacation and convenient to all the action in Destin.

We loved the large condo which provided everyone enough space. Great view of ocean. The condo definitely needs some upgrades like new balcony furniture. One chair was already broken when we got there. Also the sliding door from the master bedroom to the balcony wouldn't open. We called the management service on a Sunday, heard back late on Monday, and then a maintenance guy came late on Tuesday. He said he'd have to contact a locksmith to come back and fix, but no one ever did come. That was disappointing. In the paperwork from the mgmt there said there was a gate remote and a key to a storage room but that wasn't there either. Also gate codes changed without any communication from the mgmt. company. (And there are tons of gates to go through to get anywhere! Not a family friendly feature.)

I previewed this unit earlier this year and found it to be the perfect place for our annual family vacation. We usually stay further down the beach but decided on something different this year. There are only 6 adults and 2 children under 5 but this 4bdr, 3 bath unit was just what we needed. The complex is so close to shopping and grocery stores that it worked out great. The view was great from the unit and the balcony was the best size for all of us to sit on. The unit was beautiful as far as the layout however, was in serious need of maintenance and updates. I am a senior with poor eyesight so the poor lighting did not help. The furniture is nice but needs replacing. I feel that prior guests have severely abused this unit and I am sure the owner gets fed up with repairs constantly. Better quality furnishings would be a help. The leasing company was great to work with and found them to be helpful with any questions. I would stay at this complex again and even this unit if updated. We enjoyed the many restaurants but ate in a lot. The children always enjoy The Track!
