Location is great. The trolley car pass is right in front of the hotel. The valet parking was expensive.

Rooms have good furniture in combinations that fit the room. The room didn't smell high mileage. The staff are very attentive and on the ball in general, including the door men.
In my experience, there's nothing to dislike.

Hotel is located in the Garden District, nice area to walk around, good restaurants etc. The hotel has a lovely rooftop bar (great view) and the bar downstairs has live jazz music almost every night. The staff at the hotel were very forthcoming! There is a breakfast cafe downstairs, which was very convenient. The Pontchartrain has that New Orleans charm, which was important for me.
The rooms felt outdated and musty (the latter might be result of the climate). When I arrived, the shower gel hadn't been replaced (it was the opened bottle from the last guest). The bathroom in general wasn't cleaned very well through the days of my stay and they did not vacuum (could tell because of things left on the floor). The air conditioner was very loud at night. The snacks in my room were almost all expired (though the staff was lovely about it and went to the supermarket to fetch me chips- which I really appreciated). All that to say, this hotel would benefit from a better cleaning staff.

Did not have breakfast at the hotel. We instead had dinner which was exceptional in presentation and quality. The Wait Staff (Skylar) was attentive and informative. The rain stopped and a table was prepared in the courtyard adjacent to the dining room which made it very intimate. The front desk (Gary L.) was unexpectedly helpful and respectfully reaching out, asking about our day and if we needed anything.
No complaints. Although service of one of two elevators was inconsistent It was soon corrected, , Instead, we decided we needed our exercise and walked up to our room instead of waiting for the second elevator.

We booked a suite that had a king and two twins - room was decorated lovely and the beds were very comfortable. Bell staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooftop bar was cool.
Halls were a bit dark and the floor at the rooftop bar was very sticky.

it’s such a charming hotel and I loved being able to enjoy the excellent restaurants and bars, too. The location is excellent.
crime in New Orleans was a concern.

loved being in the Garden district as it’s quieter but there is a tram just outside the hotel to take you to the French quarter easily. the beds were very comfortable and the roof top bar was fun
it’s not very clean. They seemed to be very short staffed and those who were there weren’t very friendly. The main restaurant was closed 3 nights we were there which meant we had to go out all the time and breakfast had nothing healthy. everything is fried. Rooms got beds made but no cleaning and no replenish of products which ran out. we had booked a superior king room with a bath and when we arrived they said there was no such room and they couldn’t move us to one with a bath. eventually we were offered a reduced rate but we really wanted the room we had booked. it’s a shame as I think it has the potential to be much better. everything is rather shabby and well worn

I brought my wife to New Orleans for her birthday. Everything was fantastic and the hotel was amazing. Although we did not dine in the restaurant, we did sit at the bar and chatted with the bartenders. The rooftop bar was also amazing.
On the nights we got back to the hotel after being out on tours in the city, the person checking for ID's to get to Hot Tin was a bit aggressive and rude -even after we stated we were going to our room (he still insisted on seeing our ID). It may be better for that person to actually be on the rooftop and check ID's once people are getting off the elevator.

Good location, I liked the rooftop bar and bayou bar. We never ate at the hotel restaurant because there were weddings and then not open sunday evening.
It was a bit dated and rooms didn't have much amenities

We did not book in for the breakfast, not sure if they did one but we used the cafe in the hotel forum and that was very nice and reasonable priced.
The Valet parking, was very expensive and I was not happy when I discovered the parking is not on site, my car went to a chained up parking lot. The issue was on the last day we checked out at 12.00 and went into New Orleans for a couple of hours before coming back and collecting our bags and the car. The Valet parking person then tried to ask for another $55.00 because he said that because we did not take the car after we checked out he would charge another day ! Bearing in mind that they charge per 24 hours, we had arrived at 6pm on the day we checked the car in therefore we should not have to pay until 6pm the day we took the car. He tried to stop me getting in the car and then said he would ask the hotel to charge it to my credit card, I spoke to reception and they said they most certainly do not do that and the parking valet is not owned by the hotel. Sad that it ruined the end of a great stay.

The room was as described; spacious, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the location near the Garden District and with a trolley stop just in front of the hotel.
We thought the price for overall value was too high. For the room price, we would have expected more guest amenities/services like a lounge area to relax or meet (the only available areas are 2 or 3 chairs in the lobby and then the bar and restaurant lounge), free coffee all day or at least in the room. The hotel was beautifully restored but we felt like it was more of a money making machine (with the crowds coming in on the weekend nights for the restaurant and rooftop bar) than a real historic/luxory hotel. We also received a mistake wake up call at 4am that we had not requested. We understand mistakes happen and we would have appreciated a voucher or some sort of compensation when we notified the front desk.

I like the restaurant. The food was a little pricey, but the quality was good.
Locals monopolized the roof top bar and restaurant. This interfered with my ability to enjoy both venues. It was difficult to get to my room because of the influx of locals attempting to gain access to the roof top bar. The complementary coffee was provided from 5a-7a. I sleep in while on vacation. The hotel needs to extend the complementary coffee hours.
